one thing I hate about McFarlane was how limited the articulation was and how strong everything is. is that fixed from the halo 4 master chief?

I got this figure for $10 in my local Gamestop in a recent sale and before that I got the Gamestop exclusive Locke for free when I bought the game :) love them both

I have it, and I think it's worth it. To get the legs out straight, bend the legs to the side then rotate the knee swivel. Also I cut the finger like you said with a rusty dull exact o knife and had to use a black marker to cover the white stretch marks and torn parts.
I like the new head and torso but i still think the shoulderpads are too far down on his arms.
Would you rather have them higher or good articulation?
Danny Price Preferably both. They could be made from a softer plastic that doesn't hinder articulation.

I don't know if it would still work but back with the reach DMR I use to just cut off the trigger guard.
Finally, been waiting so long for this.
My figure's hips don't move forward or backward on the ball peg at all. You swivel the thigh to move the whole leg. Also, I had no idea that it was possible to separate the fingers. I've just managed to make him kinda hammer-grip the gun.
Was looking forward to this one!
I will admit, from the front the helmet did take me back a bit, as it seems they spaced it differently in this line. It still looks good, but I just don't think I was ready for that change, even if it was relatively slight~
I am a bit saddened that they didn't take this opportunity to try and make the hips articulate better, but oh well, hopefully they do some playing around with the idea in the future.
Great review as always, and I can't wait to get all six of these bad boys when they come in!

I have a question because I am getting this figure but can you like change the helmet from other halo figures from mcfarlane is the master chief from halo 4 ,because I kind of don't like the broken glass in his helmet.

My master chiefs right hand is broken. how would I fix that?

Great review as per usual! Quick question though, is this figure size accurate to the Jul 'Mdama figure from Halo 4? I'm not much of a figure collector so that's the only one I have right now.

thanks to your awsome reviews on chief and locke i just picked these guys up the articulation isnt the best as you pointed out but the paint work and sculpts sold me come on hasbro learn something already, i got them for 12.99 at toys r us and they put the 21.99 legends to absolute shame

***** I've noticed on both McFarlane's Halo 5 Chief and Mega Blok's two most recent variants of the Chief, that his Visor is cracked like you point out, and this is very much a larger crack than that which was visible in the E3 trailer. Think this is hinting to us that Chief may get more than he bargained for in Halo 5?

I have a problem. The hand on my Chief broke off at the swivel (the wrist joint is intact) but I don't know how to reattach the hand. I've used resin but it peeled off with no damage to anything. I was thinking of using 3 pin points to tether the joint and hot glue to seal the bond.

From what I can see, they're the same figure articulation wise. Just slight differences like the crack in the visor and the updated AR design. that said, I've only got the H5 figure but I can say that thus figure is awesome.

One thing I find odd about the figure is how he still has a cracked helmet, but a fixed chest plate. This means he has a mix of the Escalation/Announcement Trailer details plus H5 details. So everyone else is seemingly spot on H5 while he's some hybrid depiction that uses the same cloaked Chief head. The fact that the cracks are just painted over gold seems to me that they just decided to use the cloaked Chief head instead of making a new H5 head (or just use H4 head, no difference). Of course, he may well crack his visor again in game but why not just follow the promotional material already released? Also, it is weird why he has no red detailing while Fred does.
+William Luong the chest plate gets fixed since thats damage from halo 3. the crack in the visor will happen in halo 5 most likely.
