I love your taste for fountain pens 😂 The Pilot Custom Urushi has one of the best nibs in my collection, maybe the best. The regular M1000 (not the Renaissance Brown of course) can be had for a reasonable price.

11:26 "when you have so many pens it's hard to, like, use them all". I know, I have eleven, keep six inked at a time, and it's hard. But I bought a King of the Night because it speaks to me and I love foreplay. I'm not a collector by any means, I usually buy usable practical things, and it it was expensive and I have enough pens for now, but I may never ink this one up because it's just so and beautiful and cool hanging out with the others.

I loved your wishlist, and we have some interests in common. I also would like the Prussian Blue Pilot Custom Urushi and the Visconti Medici Palazzo Pitti in 2025 - for the very same reasons you mentioned. I'm a maybe on the Estie King of Night because I love the pictures of the dramatic color-way but worry that I'll end up with a "tamer" version than what I'm seeing online, but I could see myself purchasing for the right price. I purchased the Pelikan M1000 Renaissance as one of my wishlist fountain pens in 2024, and it is a stunning pen in every way. I'm wishing us both good luck with our Pilot and Visconti wishes, and I hope you have a fantastic day. Jingle all the way!🎄

I hope your 2025 dreams come true! I'm glad you're feeling better and back to making content. Also, thank you very much for shifting the mic to your lapel, I usually listen with headphones and the plosives that happen when you use it handheld has stopped me from finishing a few videos, so it's exciting to be able to listen comfortably to the end!

My dream pen is actually one that I might be getting for Christmas or my birthday (which is in January): the Sailor Profit w/ a lefty medium 21k gold nib

I’d love the custom Urushi in Vermillion, but that’s out of my price range, so my next pen will be the Esterbrook Estie Botanical Gardens with a needlepoint nib.

I love to watch historical fantasy Chinese dramas and there is ALWAYS a dragon, so of course I will have to check BENU out! Also, I am planning/praying/preparing to acquire the Pilot Prussian Blue Custom Urushi for my 60th birthday next January! So, 2025 will be pretty restricted for pen purchases. Besides I need to concentrate on paper and inks. Great list! I can’t wait to see which ones you acquire! Thanks for sharing!

I would also love that new Prussian Blue Pilot. I’m not a large pen person, but that one is lovely. I would like a True Blue Parker Duofold Centennial and a Pelikan Stresemann, but am unsure what size I would pick. I would also like a Waterman’s BCHR lady’s pen with a silver filigree overlay.

The Estie King of the Knight was the first Estie color-way that really spoke to me, and I am so glad I went through with purchasing it. It's been a delight to write with, and I have been having fun testing out different red inks with it to find its perfect match - currently, I am leaning towards J Herbin Rouge Grenat. I haven't fully thought out a 2025 pen wishlist, but I recently learned that the Pilot Custom 743 Verdigris is being discontinued and am trying to decide whether or not to snap one up while I can. It's been on my "that would be nice" list for a while, but I'm not sure.

You will love the big nib on the Pilot Custom Urushi. I have a Stipula Etruria 1407 that is similar to the Visconti on your list with an 18K nib, gold accents, and tortoise shell coloring. Better nib I am sure. Good luck.

Estie King of the Night is really cool! But i'm thinking more of the Jurassic with Fude nib. Benu Friday could also be on the list. And thinking of Italian pens - Scribo, Santini, old Omas - but piston fillers are so hard to empty...

Wish pens? I recently managed to buy a Myu, which needs some polishing, but wow, what a looker! Also got another E95, and another Narwhal with a clear barrel and sparkly white cap and end cap. Thanks, Joe (The Gentleman Stationer) Crace. Full set of the Levenger True Writer pens in earth, fire, air, and water, which are swirly and come with big, fat nibs. There are others. At a mini penshow a week or two ago I parted with a bunch of pens, notebooks, ink. Came home with some others.

I recently purchased a lovely pen for myself for Christmas. It is the Platinum 3776 celluloid in koi . Photos don’t do it justice. I had an opportunity to see it in person and I was gobsmacked. So, I may have to reel back my spending after this at least until mid 2025. 😉

I have to disagree with you about Visconti nibs. On August 24th I purchased a Visconti Homo Sapiens Basaltic Lava Fountain Pen, Bronze with a fine nib. It is wonderfully smooth. I have not written with it for about a month and when I write again, it writes as if it were freshly inked. It has not dried out. I am very happy with this fountain pen. Greetings and Merry Christmas.

I don't know what retailers you are looking at, but I just had a quick look around and found the Pelikan M1000 in Renaissance Brown at five different retailers. So it is still available, depending on what nib you want.

Hi Kerry. I like your list and I'll enjoy your covering them in 2025. As for my list, I just ordered one of the pens on the list and it's a black Sailor Pro Gear with silver hardware and a fine nib. I've been wanting that pen for a while now and due to aggressive holiday sales and a very favorable dollar to yen exchange rate I was able to acquire one at a heavily discounted price. The pen isn't due to arrive until January. Another pen I'd love to get in 2025 is a Benu. Your ravings about Benu pens has inspired me to add it to my list. Yup, this one is going to be your fault lol. The 3d pen on my list is a TWSBI. (** Yes, not one of your favorite pens :( **) but I've never owned one of my own and I think I'd really like to experience one for myself. It will probably be one of their special edition 580s and perhaps even with a stub nib (um and maybe not a stub). So that's it for my list and thank you Kerry for sharing and I'm looking forward to watching you in 2025.

The Custom Urushi is nice, especially the Prussian Blue. It is just so big and the demand is driving up the price on eBay. I recently bought a Custom 845 Urushi in Black and Gold out of Taiwan on eBay and it is just a wonderful pen and 1/3 of the CU price.

You and I have the same esthetic in fountain pens and ink colours! I so wanted the Platinum 3773 in tortoiseshell celluloid. I love the Euphoria the bourbon was my first and I now have 3. I too switch inks often, so even a kaweco converter size is enough ink for me I change ink so often. I have wanted ghe Pilot custom Urushi in Prussian blue and every pen you listed! AMAZING!

Visconti is distributed in Canada by LSF Trading in Woodbridge. LSF Trading also acquired the rights to distribute Pelikan in Canada - and he (I can't remember the owner's name) has in-house nib services. If you speak to a retailer they can confirm if your nib can be tuned before it is sold to you. It is a very expensive pen though - and if worse comes to worst, you can always reach out to Salman Khattak who is AMAZING.

The Benu dragons are awesome and on my list, too. I love Esties, but King of Night is too much for me unless I get it at a great price. There's a Sailor Pro Gear called Jellyfish that looks beautiful. I purchased too many pens in 2024, so I'm on a "diet" in 2025. 😢

Though I think the name Dubhánach may come from Scottish Gaelic, in Irish (from which the Scottish varient derives), it would be pronounced a bit like Dove- awh- nok. Bh makes a V sound and the fada (accent) over the a lengthens the vowel sound.

Useless piece of information. Prussian Blue is the colour of the hands of the Elizabeth Tower in London (also known as Big Ben, but Big Ben is a bell and not the tower).
The only found out that the hands were Prussian Blue during an extensive 3 year renovation from 2017. The last time the hands were PB was in 1859. Since then everyone thought they were black.
Merry Christmas from a Londoner living in Glasgow.
