The Last Time I Saw Jeff Buckley

- I lived in the East Village in NYC in the early 90's one block from the club Sine
where I would see Jeff Buckley play with his Fender Tele through a Fender Vibroverb amp. In this video I talk abou the last time saw Jeff and breakdown the song Vancouver. This was and excerpt from my What Makes This Song Great series.

Rick if you wanted to do an entire breakdown of the 'Grace' album I'd be right here for it. Just putting that out there for a content idea. I felt the same way as you about "Sketches..", but two or three of my favourite Jeff songs, like this one come from that album now so I'm glad they released it. Man there is no musician I miss more than Jeff Buckley.
Can second this!

yes please!!!!
+1 Grace is one of the greatest albums of all time. Eternal Life is the song that introduced me to Jeff Buckley and led me to that album. Mind blowing talent.
I saw Jeff Buckley play at First Avenue in Mpls with Soul Coughing opening up in 1995 , and after Soul Coughing played half the place cleared out , and then when Jeff played it was one hell of an awesome show , and I saw what a good guitar player he was!
Grace by Jeff Buckley was probably the greatest debut album I've ever seen from any artist. Imagine what he could've done had he not died like he did.
I was watching my friend's band at CBGB's right before Grace dropped. The soudman said "Stick around Jeff Buckley is doing a set next". Limos started pulling up, Jeff got up, plugged in and started warming up on the mic. I swear for the next hour, nobody moved, nobody went to the bar. We all just stood there with our mouths open.
@quinnly That was the one show where Jeff played Forget Her. That version is incredible; way better than the studio version.
here's an awful story:
my singer / drummer was having an affair with Jeff's GF (Joan As Police Woman) when jeff walked into the lake and never came back.....so I heard about his passing before most ppl who knew jeff..... (I also saw Jeff when he was in Gods And Monsters, who could've been huge had they stayed together).....
....and that same night I went to see U2 at the Meadowlands in NJ, and I was stunned when Bono dedicated a song to Jeff (cuz no one knew who Jeff was yet) (and I don't think they'd even found jeff's body yet) and HOW WEIRD to be the only person in a gigantic stadium of 50,000 people......crying.
@@jonbongjovi1869 That IS an awful story. Did Jeff know? (About the GF...not Bono).
@Fancy Free good question......(cuz if Jeff had found out....perhaps THAT betrayal inspired him to walk into the water and never come back! YIKES)...... but my drummer is the kind of person who would've hidden that fact, if he knew it or not. (He's a bit of a sociopath, so he'd have said "Buckley died after walking into a lake. Joan confessed and...." ergo, he doesn't hide his sins. He revels in them!)
HMMMM:
most artists at Jeff's age think about suicide all the time......but most are like a Kurt Cobain: they want to MAKE A MARK FIRST....
the Fact that jeff seemingly committed suicide (vs an accidental drowning) infers SOMETHING pushed him over the line, cuz he had not yet made his mark, though his record was about to come out. (If he felt super-happy with the record, maybe he felt "complete"? But if it wasn't HIS BIG STATEMENT, he'd likely not take his own life.....YET. See what I mean?)
Of course, touring is ENDLESS heartbreak in his pre-fame situtation. Promoters in each town ripping you off! The impossible pressures of having a band of 4 "wives", etc etc.
Used to see Jeff in Midtown Memphis. He moved there after Grace, working on his new stuff in a little house. He volunteered at the Memphis zoo, cleaning out animal habitats. Some friends mentioned his sketching out 4-track recordings in the house at the time, covering Genesis and others. This is the first time I've heard the song Vancouver and it's interesting and very fitting how much of a Chris Bell & Alex Chilton vibe there is and yet still very much Jeff Buckley. So beautiful. Thanks, Rick!
So basically this is a "What Makes This Song Great? The artist: Jeff Buckley. The song is Vancouver, coming up next!"
Love Jeff!
Episode 74 on the other channel
„If you wonder where Muse got their ideas from …“
- Hahaha, that was great!
Jeff. And Queen. Maybe a splash of Radiohead. Pretty much sums up the whole Muse thing. And I love Muse. If you're going to borrow some ideas to build a sound around, borrow from some of the best.
Yeah Radiohead too. The falsetto stuff mainly.
@@mpk33 I thought Radiohead's falsetto was also coming from Jeff Buckley's ? I read somewhere that Radiohead recorded "Fake Plastic Tree" right after coming back from one of his gigs.
The first time I heard the album Grace i was about 19. It was the dead of winter and I wasn’t having a good time. I was listening to it on headphones while looking out at the moon at night, and it felt like I’d discovered an album that was written just for me.
I still feel that way every time I listen to it. It was absolute human magic.
Jeff Buckley is one of the reasons I became an opera singer. I heard him on one of those CDs that used to come with music magazines, listened to it (a rough mix of The Sky is a Landfill), was immediately overwhelmed and in love with his singing and writing, frantically opened the booklet to read about him, found out he was dead, and felt immediate grief. What a roller coaster ride. Our country had no internet back then, so that was all I had to go on for quite some time
Corpus christi
It's kinda cliche to say i know, but of all the artists i have loved & enjoyed since i was 15 [53 now], no one else 'connected' with me like Jeff did. At the time i was listening to him in August '94 no one else in my circle of friends knew who he was so that connection i felt was mine, all mine. It's only as the years have passed that i've come to realise that most people who listened to him or saw him live [saw him just the twice] felt the very same connection. Jeff Buckley was a very special human being who possessed that rare ability to make his emotions feel personal x
"Grace" is probably one of my Top 5 albums of all time. I also think 'Sketches' has some really incredible songs as well, Opened Once and Morning Theft being ones that bring a tear to my eye every time. Very moving stuff.
The only artist/albums that even come close in respect to vocal versatility and songwriting are the first two records from 'My Brightest Diamond' (Shara Worden). There was a time I found myself living and sleeping out of a car and I would constantly switch between the two Buckley albums and her first two albums. They got me through some really hard times.
I used to also see Jimmy Gnecco/Ours live and he would talk about his experiences having hung around and watched Jeff Buckley perform, with one of his songs 'Saint Down The Hall' being dedicated to the man himself.
I bonded with Jimmy Gnecco from Ours over Jeff too. Jimmy was/is as approachable as was Jeff Buckley.
@@Lisse1 There was one show at Cool Beans in Jersey where I got a little face time with him. Definitely a gentleman to me. I was starstruck at the time. If I met him today I would probably still be as grateful though I could probably hold a conversation a little better. =D
Jimmy/Ours is absolutely BRILLIANT. Totally in the same category as Jeff. My listening for the next week probably just took a left turn and I'm going to be listening to Jeff and Jimmy. Another place I hear that same ear... The same kind of songwriting is Ian Thornley. A little heavier/harder rock. But the same kinds of harmony happening, and just as sophisticated.
@@joelcprice You should add the first two My Brightest Diamond albums to that queue. Really great songwriting as well.
thank you Rick for doing such a wonderful job with Vancouver. it sometimes really hurts to listen to how beautiful and powerful this song is because it really is the end of Jeff's creativity and points a light towards what might have been.
Wow, what a singer! He slid between registers like it was nothing and seemed to control his intensity just as easily.
So great to have Rick showing us the intricate genius of this song, totally elevates the whole experience of hearing it. The way Jeff manipulated his voice was incredible which was reinforced by his guitar playing. What a tragedy to have lost such an amazing talent.
I so agree. It was a punch in the heart when Jeff died. Too early. Imagine the music he would have created as he developed.
💯 And “Vancouver” truly is an empyrean example of Pop perfection; as good as any pop song is capable of being, simultaneously embracing and transcending the genre.
Jeff was a legend before his time!
It really says something that Jeff's music stands out in 2021. What are unique artist
this is in my opinion the best song ever written. i have been listening to this since the cd came out and it still gives me so many emotions. also you can hear a early version of this song on his dvd concert in chicago. so many chills and goosebumps from this song. thanks rick
The Sin-e concerts are pure gold.
Remember the tour de force that is What Would You Say on Live At Sin-e, in which he takes his father to task for his absence (I think that's what he's singing about)? One of the great Jeff live performances.
Man! This is crazy. I literally spent all week listening to Jeff Buckley and watching Andy Wallace's Mix with the Masters breakdowns of Jeff Buckley songs. Total Jeff Buckley week for me and then you post this! Amazing!
What a blessing he was. I remember reading about his death and I was deeply hurt. Deeply. My girlfriend at the time wasn't overly concerned with it, and I knew then that she was wrong for me. And she was.
The universe sends us signs all the time .
I’m glad you stopped and listened 😊
@@dirkdiggler9174 The universe isn't a conscious entity, therefore, it can't send messages.
@@MojoPin1983 We are the universe.
@@HenritheHorse That doesn’t make sense. The universe is an inanimate entity, that precedes the existence of humans.
Well then. Really? I get it, yet I think that was a pretty harsh reason for deciding someone isn’t “right” for you. I mean was she making four of him or something? Make a bad joke about water?
Did you realize all her flaws after the Buckley moment? She turn out to be a serial killer man? 😆
‘The Day I Was Sent a Sign From J’
…news of Jeff’s death had just broken, as did my heart upon learning of it. I was a mess, listening to Grace and my bootleg of Jeff, with just his guitar from the Sin-E club, on repeat. My girlfriend had just walked in, and was looking around for something. I know she must not have heard, or I’m sure she’d have mentioned it to me. So we could talk about the seminal genius and lovely man, that Jeff was.
So, I told her that Jeff Buckley had died, just as Lilac Wine ended on the CD player, to which she said, “Jeff who?” “Buckley,” I said very calmly.
“Oh, geez, that’s too bad…You want to order take out later? What’s this you’re listening to? It’s a bit intense for right now isn’t it?”
I looked at her not recognizing the person who I once really liked…a lot. It was a moment of pure clarity. I knew then she was wrong for me.
All these years later, and I was right, she was just found guilty of killing a Florida Man. Hah.
Thanks Jeff…
I really hope you weren’t just saying it to empathize Joe much you love Buckley. If this was really why you split from someone, that’s awesome, especially if you found someone, or many someone’s who were better.
He was so special. I’ve been mesmerized by him for the past 23 years.

Facts
Yeah..Vancouver is one of my favs. The bassline is practically it's own melody. Also "Everybody Here Wants You" sounds like a standard but isn't. I was crushed when he passed. He was far more important than a lot of people realise.
The world lost a lot of great music that day, such a talent, one can only imagine what he would have created
Gone far too soon. The world will never forgot you Mr Buckley
Wow thanks Rick. I’ve been a huge fan of Jeff Buckley for a long time. Thanks for sharing your personal stories. it brings us all closer to Jeff.
Your break down of this song is just epic. Jeff is smiling from heaven knowing that a musician of your caliber helps us mediocre musicians understand his music. So grateful, total appreciation 🙏❤️🎸✌️🎶
half of my guitar playing technics i got from him.
he actually influenced muse, radiohead, and all that genre of alt rock with extremely interesting chords and instrumentation.
I’m old enough to remember Tim Buckley, Jeff’s father. That’s who I remember, played his albums, actually 8 track tapes in college circa. 1969-70. Wore them out. I especially remember his album ”Happy Sad”, great album. I know Tim had some drug problems and some of his songs reflected that. He died relatively young.
I got to shake his hand once. He was playing somewhere in California around 1970, just a small kind of club setting. There had to be no more than 25 people in the middle of the afternoon. The band took a break and I watched where they walked to down a hallway, walked to the door, knocked, opened it and walked in and shook his hand. Told him I was a fan and walked out. He was very gracious.
I think anyone who likes Jeff Buckley should check out his father Tim.
I love Song to the Siren
Completely agree, his dad was an artist. Blue Afternoon is a fantastic record, front to back.
Im happy you mentioned Tim. Seems to be completely forgotten to the point that its absolutely ridiculous. He is one of my fav musicians and was such a great singer and songwriter. His second and third albums are masterpieces.
He died relatively young??? Man he died when he was 28 and Jeff was 30 Years old. Tragedy super young both
@@tiddlypom2097 How amazing when you know Jeff was dating Liz Frazier of Cocteau twins who covered Song of the Siren in the 80s...
Talk about going full circle...
I love how the three (gtr/bass/drums) elements fall around each other so perfectly, without meshing in a typical way.
The drums seem to accent rhythmically very much like a rhythm guitar part.
And Jeff sings that way on top of it all. Unreal. The longer notes he holds, create and a nice tense pause in the midst of the chug of all the parts around it.
Awesome piece of music. KIller performances of everyone on it.
Jeff Buckley was Astounding! The Sin'e CD with the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Yeh Jo Halka Halka Saroor Hai is sublime and very accurate/authentic you can hear his admiration and respect for a 'foreign' musician. The Posthumous release 'Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk' is exceptional and they're just demos/ideas. You & I - is amazing lovely to hear him stretching out ideas - His cover of The Smiths I Know it's Over is soo gosh darn beautiful, 'Songs to No One' is gorgeous. Jeff was truly a genius angel to bless us with his existence and music, You're blessed to have met him Rick. Jimmy Page & Robertt Plant were blown away by him live, he influence Radiohead, Chris Cornell and countless others.Rick, Thank you for introducing your viewers/fans to his and his music. Grace is one of the best album in the 90s that still stands out up to this day
Not that my opinion matters at all, but of all time even
Love how you’re managing your other channel. The videos and subjects covered are great. I first learned about Jeff Buckley from an interview about how big of an influence he was on Chris Cornell. When I met my wife she introduced me to the album Grace. What a songwriter!
An absolute masterpiece.
Such a haunting and incredibly emotional song. As usual Rick you nailed what it is in the foundation of a song that makes it special
Right on, Rick. Jeff has been one of my favorite artists since 1994. I appreciate this quite a bit. Thank you.
Jeff's music is extraordinary. We all were crushed when he died. The live version of Vancouver from the Chicago show is even better than the studio version from Sweetheart the Drunk.
@James Staubes The Bataclan version is even better than the Chicago version.

Thanks for doing a video on Buckley
His melodies are exceptional. I wish he could have stuck around so that we could see his tools fully expressed over a longer span.
Or how he would have evolved musically.
I'm beginning to understand the reason for a 2nd channel, RB's enthusiasm is infectious and creates a need for more from the audience. "Play the music, play it loud" Jeff Buckley-
I resisted listening to Sketches for years and years and finally bought a used copy last year. Glad I finally did. "Vancouver" is definitely one of the top songs on it. I'd love to hear you break down "Everybody Here Wants You", with its extended F over E figure in the verses. So dripping with tension!
Just hopping in to say . . .
we all miss him, every day.
And although this song (like many of his) slowly burrows a hole into your soul, for me it's All Flowers In Time Bend Towards the Sun that does it. It's every emotion that ever existed, all in one song.
Jeff Buckley, what can we all say ! One of personal favorite vocalist of all time. Really only 2 studio records but made such an impact. Great breakdown once again Rick, thank you man !
WOWWWWWW !!!!!!!! YOU SAW THE SIN É SHOWS?!?!?!?!?!? WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!! I fuggin LOVE Jeff- he is one of my soulmates. A true spirit of energy. Human and relatable and yet total freedom in spiritual form.
Absolute Gem of a Channel.
No one expected such a tragic ending because he seemed to have avoided any inner demons that his father Tim, who he only met once, couldn't.
Do you seriously suggest that someone with his family background didn't have any demons?
Yeah, I know - Tim's overdose contrasts strongly with Jeff's drowning. A very different kind of "misadventure ".
I saw Jeff Buckley live in Paris in July 1995. It haunted me for months. Genius. The 4 tracks songs are amazing and would be another masterpiece record.
I hear you brother. I like The Sky is a Landfill though I do think that someone might’ve talked him into changing a line or two, but Everybody Here Wants You is essential and one of my forever favorite songs. Chills.
Great tune. "The sky is a landfill" and "Everybody here wants you" are my favorite tracks on that LP, but they're all solid. Such an unclassifiable, cross-genre talent.
Thanks so much for making this.
Thanks So much Rick🙏❕Jeff was a splendid, talented, once-in-a-lifetime artist.
God Bless Him, and God Bless You.
One of my favourite songs of all time - thanks for talking about it Rick!
My cousin was at Jeff's gig in Dublin. He turned me onto his music and I've loved him and his music ever since.
What a huge loss to us all and one can only wonder what we misses out on.
Yes Grace one of the best of all time. Always get chills when i listen this album
The last (and only) time I got to see Jeff was at the Glastonbury Festival, England in 1995. He was wonderful. A girl I was with at the time muttered in my ear halfway through "Oooh just listen to THAT voice! This guy is gonna be huge."
@ding dong I wish Jeff’s full Glastonbury set would be release on video. Those versions of Mojo Pin and What Will You Say are incredible.
@@MojoPin1983 I'm not sure it was filmed in full even? The televising of the festival was very much in its infancy back then so we only got a couple of songs. Hey, if someone knows where there is a full copy I'd love to see it too!
PS - I genuinely think if things had been different he would have headlined eventually. I think he'd have got even better. I really do.
@@dingdong6069 I actually contacted the head of the Glastonbury Festival, a few years ago, and asked him if Jeff's full set was filmed. He seemed to think that it was, but he wasn't able to confirm, as the footage is still on the master reels, and it would require time, labour, and money in to ascertain what was filmed.
My favorite Buckley song! Nice!
Had the luck and privilege to see him live twice in a small club setting, once in Antwerp (Pacific), once in Brussels (Botanique). I'll never forget those 2 concerts as long as I live.
@Erwin Heiser I have footage from the Pacific Club show, on my channel.
@@MojoPin1983 Cheers mate!
I first heard Jeff Buckley in the mid/late 90s... I said, I've got to see this guy. Then I learned he was gone and I couldn't believe it. He is so present and immediate in his recordings! How could he be gone? Similar thing with Eva Cassidy. I was introduced to her, was hooked, then learned she had just died. Crazy.
I too thought about Eva and her sudden passing, although different, they were both such talented souls.
I love Jeff's music so much - Grace is simply divine, and Sketches has some amazing stuff on it too. You are bang on about his guitar playing too - he was a seriously talented and imaginative player. The drum part on "Vancouver" always makes me think of Budgie's playing with Siouxsie and the Banshees...
I saw Jeff Buckley just a month or so before Grace came out. Was at a bar and reading the local paper. I looked at the upcoming concerts, and noticed an ad for Jeff's band. And it was the very bar I was at. And it was on that very day. I then realized I was talking small talk with the band while they were unloading. Stuff like, "How's the weather". What a coincidence, so it was only the afternoon, but I stayed until the evening show. There must have been 25 people in audience. After the show I told them it was a great show, and Jeff was sincere and took a minute to say thanks. He is a nice guy. After that I think I helped the bass player and guitar player carry an amp or two down to the van. Like many I was saddened by Jeff's passing.
rightfully, everyone in the comments is talking about jeff's voice, but i would like to add that he must've had a good ear for a guitar tone, as well. his live clean tone was just beautiful.
I believe he grew up in CA playing some session work there before he started his own band.
Jeff went to the Hollywood Musicians Institute at 19, got a degree after a year.
My favourite J Buckley song. So perfect.
Haunting my man. Thanks always. Mick G is such an underrated bass player. I’m a huge Buckley fan and am a fellow Rochesterian, and apparently jeff had a girlfriend from Rochester I’d say around that time, and a few of my friends met em or knew em both. Love the drums….love matt johnson sadly he’s not on this album leaving the band not too long before this. There’s a great bootleg on UA-cam where it’s the new lineup and there’s a lot of criticism toward the new drummer Parker Kindred as it sounds like him but may be eric idel I’m not sure, who’s actually on this track, and honestly to me parker nails everything and sounds as huge as this track here. Thanks man. Jeff could shred on the guitar yet grew and matured into a deeper song type dude playing for the tune and for my sweet heart the drunk wanted a more rock type thing from all criticism from not being rock enough at the time… love Buckley forever!
Yeah, I knew that Matt had left the band before he was doing these sessions--but wasn't he and the band flying down when Jeff slipped away into the that dreadful river? Read that entertainment tonight's journalists book Dream Brother.
I remember thinking I found his last house in Memphis and I was across the street from where he actually lived and the neighbors just laughed at me. Not many musicians I would go that far for!
@@jeremyserwer2586 No. Matt was long out of the picture, by that time. He left the band after their final show, on 1 March 1996. Jeff's new drummer, Parker Kindred, was on said flight.
Please keep up this kind of content, super inspiring. Thanks!
He was definitely ahead of his time lyrically n musically. Our Last Goodbye which I think is in open G tuning correct me if I'm wrong Rick, was the 1st song I had heard from him then it was Hallelujah. Myles Kennedy did a cover of Hallelujah you should listen to it. Another great loss of talent at a young age.R.I.P
I first heard that tune last year and my reaction was ''oh... so that's where all the indie/post-punk bands of the 2000s come from''. all the Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Modest Mouse etc
I can not listen to this music without crying.
As a young guy, I’m always finding and falling in love with the music of so many artists. I remember being hooked from the second I heard grace for the first time. Just trying to consume as much of his music as possible. Then doing research and finding out how soon he died. The feeling of finding that out rhymed with when I found out Jim Morrison died in ‘72. I still listen to all that Jeff Buckley left us with. All amazing and his guitar playing inspiring so many riffs I’ve written in the two years I’ve been playing guitar. His music will be what brings me back to high school in the future when I graduate.
@Alexzander Rodriguez Morrison actually died on July 3, 1971; coincidentally, the exact same day that my parents got married.
Rick I really appreciated this Jeff Buckley video! I’m such a big fan. Thanks for putting this out there!
Rick, you are excellent at eulogizing musicians, whether dead, or still living and just don't realize it yet
I love the concept that musicians are still living and don't realise it yet! But maybe it says more about my musical aspirations...
So glad I found Beato 2. I heard Rick mention B2 today when he was streaming Aerosmith. BTW, I'm 72 and
used to tell everyone that one of Aerosmith's best songs was "No More No More" and apparently Rick agrees.
So I'll spread the word and help get B2 to 100K. Slainte.
A true masterpiece of a song. What an incredible talent, what a horrific loss to the world of music. Great guitar player too. He was in a band with Danny Carey for a couple of years, I would love to hear what that was like. RIP Jeff, eternally missed.
@The Goat Child Said band was called, The Wild Blue Yonder. Its founder, John Humphrey, actually has live footage from when Jeff and Danny were in the band, but he refuses to share it, sadly.
Thats amazing . Goosebumps
I've been waiting for this story.
I would contest Buckley was one of the most tragic losses in our world of music. Not because all the others haven’t been equally as tragic, but like Randy Rhoads or Jimi, there was tremendous vision and potential that was left unrealized. We are left to only imagine the places they would have taken us too with the very small output we were given and the sketches left behind.
Everything Jeff did was incredible. But, I Woke up in a Strange Place and Vancouver are hands down my favorite Buckley songs. Fantastic video and analysis of the brilliance exhibited in every part of this song. Not just the guitar and voice.
Some of the coolest, oddest rhythm instrument parts in this tune, I've always loved the feel & the bridge is STUNNINGLY pretty : )
So easy to get lost in any of Jeff's songs. Got to see him live in Australia, and then could not wait for his next album... and then that tragic news. Sad. I'm still sad about it. I particularly like dream brother and lover... I'd also avoided sketches so had missed Vancouver until now. Awesome bass line! Thanks rick! Randomly I met a guy who has played with Jeff's drummer last year. Of course I hopelessly ask lots and lots of questions. That snare sound...
You're so right, that bass part is something special.
I love the videos where you explain how the melodies and harmonies work together. It’s a huge help for us songwriters. Thanks, Rick!
Jeff Buckley is my God, man. And it's such a shame that this song was only able to be a demo due to his passing. Every time I pass through Memphis, I visit the banks where he took that swim and listen to Grace and remember him. Such a unique voice that will never be replicated or competed with.
Of course, Hallelujah was my gateway Jeff Buckley song. I had heard it played on the TV show Cold Case which always did a phenomenal job matching the music of a particular time to the era the crime occurred in.
Immediately searched out more & fell hard. Certain voices just grab you & hang on for life-he's one of mine.
My first was So Real. As a singer I was in shock after. I decided if I could sing like that I was not wasting my time perusing music. I can. Thanks Jeff.
Mine was be your husband off Siné, it was on some Spotify playlist
Thanks Rick! This has always been my favorite Jeff Buckley song, yet I never hear or see it anywhere. This makes me feel validated lol. Great song and as always you put out great content!

It's always so sad to talk about Jeff Buckley. I never found anyone like him. He gave inspiration to so many like: Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay, Ben Harper, Norah Jones, etc, etc. I like all the songs from "Sketches", not only "Vancouver"

Man I always thought that was a slide guitar not a theremin, I'll have to take a closer listen. Probably one of my favorite Buckley songs, stuff like this, you and I, and morning theft from the sketches album really makes me wish we'd gotten to hear more from him.
@Kevin Donovan I doubt it is a theremin.
This channel is one of my favorite things about this day n' age
What a unique memorable voice. Thank you Rick for making this video 🙏
This is one of my favorites forever off of My Sweetheart the Drunk. What a song. 🎶
I love how Rick plays air guitar whilst holding a guitar 🎸 😍 ❤
I JUST FREAKING LOVE IT WHEN RICK SHOWS THE MUSIC TRANSCRIPTIONS for the parts he breaks down from the songs.
Jeff's music was unique and special, your musical choices run parallel to the soundtrack of my life Rick! 😎👍
