The story of an African gold miner 🇸🇩 vA 17

- We are in Wadi Halfa, and we go to the market to do some groceries to get ready for our long ride across the desert. Gamer, also called Moon, comes with us to the market, and tells us his story, the story of a kid from Darfur, who escaped from the war, and who ended up working in the gold mines in Egypt, in order to try to pay for his studies in Kenya.

Yves is so kind but the blond man (rodger) is so embarrassing- always saying that the price is to high or telling the boy that they like them for their money .... but paying for an overpriced coffee or sandwich in an European city is OK? Would he act like that in an European market too?
Haggling seems to be common there though. Roger is kind in the conversations, he asks many questions and is interested in the people. He was encouraging to both young men.
I thought the same. Rodger thinks he's being "friendly with the locals" in reality he's arguing over pennies because he doesn't want to feel "taken advantage of". Cut this kid.
Id have to agree. Roger Not as sensitive to the cultures as yves. I hope he stops insulting with elitist comments.
It is a dutchman (like me) we are trade people!!😉
Just compare the prices of the same thing in the West and Sudan and you will have the answer!
Roger is cheap! Can't give these poor people 2 dollars is a disgrace.
Hi Yves , I am looking forward for your videos in the future where you are alone… watching your friend talking to the people in his way made me feel bad for the people. It felt unnecessarily rude to be honest. Especially the comment with “ you welcome them for the money”…
Love your channel , no hate just feedback.
Yeah right, that North American complaining about his Roger service annoyed me really!
Sudan, beware of the most expensive countries, 2 euros, nothing. They gave you the real price, but if the merchants gave you a churn, I know from the goodness of their hearts, and they are the losers.
Gamer is a polite and very bright individual! I wish we could help him as he is as genuine as they come ❤💯🎯
As a sudanese, I also admire Gamer greatly. He made good effort to converse with them in English and he has noble future aspirations to be a teacher
As an Arab, I am very upset with the behavior of your friend Roger. They welcome you with a smile and love, and he describes them for money!
Man, there is something important in life called humor. You don't need to take everything to the word.
It’s typical dutch behavior. Very rude and direct. Also greedy people. Your friend reflects his own mindset (being greedy and about money) to the boy that is just appreciating viaitors in his land.
Go to an extremely poor country and ask for a deal??? It is very annoying when you see people from first world country taking advantage of poor people.
@@KinoYves He was really rude no matter what

thank you very much for sharing the experience, I would like to comment on the considerably high prices in that region, because of the factors of being a remote town additional costs for transportation and local taxes are applied, the fact of the new boom of mining in the area and a gold rush fever has many young Sudanese to migrate to this region, that made an additional demand for food and every daily consumable item. Those prices were not fixed for foreigners but this is the normal price for every customer. There are huge differences between the way of trading in Egipt and Sudan when the bread seller says ( 500 for the bag ) it means his profit from this bag is around 50, and because they are shy by their nature they will give to for 400 as you wish, It does not mean that you are smarter, but to treat you like a guest.
Thank you again for the share, and I believe by now you get to know the people of Sudan better. good luck and best wishes.
لا تغرك المظاهر فهم من دمروا بلادنا ثم اتهمونا بالتسول منهم
I am a big fan of this channel but the bargaining felt wrong. :/
It was wrong. Your feeling was on point.
Do not be like me, I thought that I was with the Egyptian people, and I always said this is a high price. When I return to my country, I discover that I wronged the merchants in their trade, and they were the losers. Today I blame myself and feel great torment. Do not be like me, Sudan is more expensive than Europe.
Watching this guy barter with Sudanese over 20-50 cents is one of the lamest things I've seen you come across on your travels. Good luck Yves, I hope your friend realizes how cheap he seems!
اجداده تجار البشر
Do you bargain in the NL too or just when you travel to poor countries?
The lady asking 1000 n this guy giving her 600. Terrible.Yves I watch all your videos and really enjoy them but much better when it's just you.bonne courage .
Being alone is better 👍
love how you guys made his day by telling him his English is fine! LOVE IT
His English was atrocious, to be honest.
Fyi Sudan is really this expensive it isnt cheap and no one tried to overprice, thats how we live here highest cost.
Looked very chill there. The locals are very polite. Great Vlog

Cool ta vidéo super beau le Soudan avec des jeunes qui sont courageux pour s'en sortir. Super vivement la suite avec ton copain d'aventure
Happy for you finally can cycling again. Good luck Yves.
Your friend's behaviour is just appalling, people are poor but humbe , they greet you with a smile , they do not over price things. He should be ashamed of himself.
He is a disgrace ,very badly behaved
The shower and toilets are - 5 star 😁😂 ..good video and they seem like nice people in unfortunate situations
Safe trip Yves, nice to follow you
I look forward to watching later tonight or the morning my friend.
A very simple life, optimistic people, and they have hope for a better future.. Stay as you are kind-hearted and merciful in dealing with people, and do not follow your friend 😉
Hello - I enjoy your videos and going over them one by one. U seem to love challenges.
Just one question: now you had traveled across several countries, which country has the nicest people you come across?
ربنا يحمى اهل السودان من العسكر الا خربو البلد
Do u know how ridiculous and offensive your friend is by trying to rob a poor sudanese lady of 30 cents , stop this kind of behavior immediately , do u walk into a Dior boutique in Paris and try to pay them half their asking price ?
Hi,I wanna see the hospitality of french people
i have found your french blogs nd must watch them to know about french people
Watch French lifestyle videos. Yves is French, but he's not in a position (on a trike!) to be welcoming visitors.
error dont exist then will tell you to go back where you come from
Ahhaha Roger's awesome 😂😂😂 he'd be great at bartering. If I travelled I'd get ripped off so much 💀 so I'd need a friend like that 😂
You think the locals put the prices up when they see your peroxide hair! They didn't ask you to pay to film them did they!
WoooooooW guys come on 1 euro its too much???????? Really????? I can’t believe you guys. When you buy something in your country you say that to much? One cup of coffee in your country the cheapest one is for 3 euro. WOW WOW WOW
In Egypt it's Nassir Lake in Sudan they call it ( Nubian Lake) !
your sony camera seems to support 4k quality. do you upload in 1080p because the internet is bad in the countries youre traveling?

Did you find bottled water? Or did you have to boil your water?
Any restaurants where you stay?
Yes, there are restaurants, and there is also bottled water, though quite expensive.
Looks more relaxing 😎 Sudan
Safe travels.
how do you see the life, people, culture difference between Egypt & Sudan?
You know very well there is a big difference between Egyptians and Sudanese, the only things they have in common are religion and language, but mentality is like the sky and the land vary big gap!
Very nice Video
Salut Yves, je pense que le jeune s'appelle Qamar (lune en arabe).
Ta vidéo est vraiment impressionnante.
4:15 a watermelon is for less than one dollar in Egypt 🖤🤝
yve if you have a bad experience in Sudan is not going to be from the locals, maybe the police or people pretending to be police. and like every where in the world there are good and bad. hope you enjoy your journey through Sudan and meet kind people like Gamar :) ,and those are the prices you can compare when you go to other places in Sudan.
What's your plan, will you cross africa by just heading south or you will visit more countries in north or west africa ?
Heading South and then back North, so you should see a lot of Africa for the coming years, on my channel.
@@KinoYves YAY!!!
As I see the life in Sudan is more simple than the one in Egypt , Bon voyage Eves
Egypt is 100% better than Sudan in Sudan all the people are poor and cant live so don't talk 🤫🤫

Yes gammer it is indeed Sudanese land and i well back insh allah
Before 9 years live Sudan .Sudanese go in desert mining gold alotof ppl find good golds
That's why u ppl come?🤔😒
It is absolutely not for the money as the other guy from Canada mentioned, that really hurts, is annoying, and is not acceptable at all, besides, Gamer is an African Sudanese from Sudan, calling him an (African) just simply ignores all other African nations, just imagine if we call you (European), that is not enough and very generalized, I hope you got my point as your trip is still long and yet more Africans from different countries you are going to meet! Apart from that, I have enjoyed your videos reflecting Sudanese kindness and hospitality.
Can i ask your friend is from Germany? 🤔
He is Dutch, from the Netherlands
❤❤❤
Yves your friend is way too greedy bro, for him a 1 euro is too much and expensive !!!! but if he buys a burger and the government take more than that is not too much, what the hell is that kind of person, peoples all around world want to help that african countries who are struggling for life, but your friend looks like doesnt care about any of that, its Africa, not a tourism scamm, if they charge you a few more cents you should be happy to give them and be proud to help them,

The African Gold Miner should learn how to dowse for gold with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, which accurately gauges what is being dowsed by pitting the energy of gravity against the energizing of the one-tenth ounce dowsing rod load that is attached at a predetermined location on the ELEVATED acetylene welding rod of the dowsing rod. Read the book, The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition, for learning all of the physics involved in dowsing and how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod. Then become a professional dowser after practicing the book's dowsing lessons of buried pipelines and cables, tunnels and voids, dowsing for precious metal placer and lode deposits, dowsing for treasure, dowsing for any element, amplified long distance dowsing from a moving vehicle, and dowsing on water from a boat. I hope this post helps locate more gold for the African Prospector - Miner. Have a safe healthy good day.
i dont understand a single word you said but you seem smart as hell. well done
Now is real Africa beginning for you journey
This is the Africa in your mind, only the real Africa starts from Egypt, the mother of Africa and the world, and its owner is the oldest and most ancient civilization🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬

Its okay the ladies selling peanuts are really poor and giving you fair price
You dont have to bargain for 10 cents
This not lake Nasir its Nubian lake
Roger is tight and cheap
If you cam to moroco 🇲🇦😆
how do you guys try to bring down the prices on these poor people, like cmon dudeeee just pay for what they ask for not that it's gonna hurt your pocket. Gosh i hate european people, always cheap cheapskates
It is the market over there, bargaining is common in those countries
يا جماعة عادي الناس تتحاجج في الأسعار زعلانين ليه؟ 🤣
Hello Yves and Rodger. Do you ever get sick from the food? Look after yourself. I wish you a safe journey through Sudan. Greetings from Australia
انت عنصرى
It seems his health is excellent although he has been eating from these places
He eats meat, fava beans, lentils, flafil and donuts they are all freshly cooked. Not to mention that all the products are organic
it seems like you know nothing about Sudan ??! so please relax and enjoy the journey.
If you buy bread from the supermarket or on the street, it will be more expensive than the bakery price...to make the story shorter, Sudan is not like Egypt in buying things, they don't offer you the foreign price, they will always offer you the local price for everyone, it's not a high price because you're a foreign...This does not mean that if you do not negotiate, you will not get a better price.. It is not because “they want your money.” It also does not mean that in most individual cases or in tourist places, you will find people who will charge you double the price just because you are a foreigner.
Guys you got a bit ripped off you paid western prices.
