Canada's Janice Joplin as for First Lady of Canadian Rock I have to say Carole Pope,Lee, Aaron,Luba and more but Sass is in that category of the elite Canadian Female Rockers
@@DENIEL381 - Perhaps the answer is similar to why people are wondering why that song "Something to Live For" by Barney Bentall et. al. is underheard ... Canadian music industry does a lousy job marketing great Canadian talent.
Always thought it would be awesome if she did a full on metal album, she has the perfect voice for that. Hell I remember seeing a pic of her with Tom Araya.
I still remember watching this music video on CBC Video Hits back in the late 80s when I was a teenager. Sass Jordan is so unbelievably underrated, it's truly shocks me how the likes of Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette (who are also Canadian) were able to make it big by breaking into the US market while an amazing vocalist like Sass Jordan didn't. SMH
People like trends - even if it is crap. Not saying those artists are crap. Just saying. It's all about the fickle trend of the day. A shame. A lot of really great artists have always been over-looked. And a lot of the lesser ones get the recognition, and attention.
When I first heard her on the radio back in the nineties, I thought that Tina Turner turned up her rock and roll game, but it ended up being sass. She's very good.
I still remember watching this music video on television during CBC's "Video Hits" back in 1989. I might still have it recorded on a Betamax tape somewhere which is probably long gone now. Love this new uploaded version with the higher 480p resolution, it sucks to have to watch great videos from 25 years ago in only 240p.
She made me love the blues and kicking it old school....Whiskey voice and a beautiful smile.....saw her in 1990 in Hamilton... Taylor Hawkins was crushing it on drums... we would have not had FooFighers without her.....
Sass Jordan...what Melissa Etheridge could have been if she had a better voice, and learned how to have a little fun with rock and roll. Sass is perfection!
As a Filipino music lover and musician.I am so impressed to Sass..She really does have an incredible voice so unbelievable and their music really rocks..I just love it!
one of her finest! from the moment the opening chords propel the song into energetic life, it is just irresistible from start to finish. Sass was always class, even as her Cdn sisters, from Alanis to Celine to Avril overshadowed her immense talent. Never complaint or jealousy, just continued amazing and heartfelt music. ❤❤❤ Love ya Sass.
So Hard is a great song and charted well... but people who only know Sass from this song (or the album Tell Somebody) are missing out on one of the best blues voices Canada has ever produced... Check out her album Rats if you want to hear it at it's best.
She is still ripping it up, saw her at a Blues Festival in 2016 headlining the First Night, and damn she blew us away. Saw her a week earlier at a classic rock weekend and they had her open the concert on the first night, and they had no clue who she was out west it seemed. Losers.
So Hard is so sexy and fun and so rock with all the rhythm and on point instrumental and vocal highlights Great job thanks I bought that album on cassette and played it on 11 in my 1970 Caprice up and down Main St Penticton BC….Tell Somebody needs no explanation lol Thank you very much
The coolest part of this song, video, is that I listened to this many years after it was done....Only to find out my friend Erik did this video! It's him talking with her at the beginning. He was the director on this video. They did three other videos together, that I'm aware of. He has gone on to great things and has become a well recognized director.
Love this song. Sass kix ass!!! Thank you hon. Drugs and some brain injuries blocked my mind. You opened the dorr then, awoken a fan for life hon. God bless.
2024 Still upbeat with today's music, awesome!

Man, woman or child, just a great rock n roll song.
Reminds me of summers when I was a teenager. Good times.

The original Queen of Canadian rock and roll what a gift we have in Canada and the world WOW

She was wailing on this song. The recording sounds great.

"Hey Bill, what's our favorite song live?"
Bill plays, Iconic resonator guitar riff.
When I first heard her on the radio back in the nineties, I thought that Tina Turner turned up her rock and roll game, but it ended up being sass. She's very good.
I've always called her Canada's Janice Joplin right from the first time I heard her singing Tell Somebody.
Have you heard her flash her bluesy ballsy style with Pissin Down. It is a monster in the Joplin vein.
"very good"?
SASS is SUPERB!
She's SO Deserving of greater Acknowledgment... Truly!!!
Love love love this song. Underrated- it’s so great ….how can you not rock to this ????
One of the best.

This is not a great 80's song. It's a great song, period. For me, this classic is timeless.
