I like this style of vlogging just regular days. It's kind of like a more chill Loading Time. As long as it doesn't make things harder for you, I'd love to see more of this!
Technically it wasn't the phone. See, smartphones upload everything you do to their manufacturers' servers (Apple or Google, usually), where the cloud elves will look at everything you recorded and piece together something that looks interesting enough for you to forget about how the complete versions of all those photos and videos now exist on servers where you have absolutely no control about them anymore.
Yeah I hope Graham added the music, especially the fading it in and out when someone's talking. I wouldn't be surprised if there exists AI that can do that but I wouldn't think it would be so commonplace as to put it in phones and not makes a big deal of it.
Your iPhone clearly does not understand video and is allergic to long shots. But yeah, not bad! Probably more a factor of your mental pre-editing of what you choose to shoot and when. However, “YES! Well, no, no, BUT” killed me.
Man, pausing Game Knights to watch North 100, pausing North 100 to watch this vlog. Thank you, Graham? Also I'm fine with 'less' vlogs if they're always going to have these snappily edited 'ingots of gold' - god bless the refinement.
Thank you for all that you do graham, anytime one of your vlogs goes up it always brings a lot of excitement to my day and I do very much enjoy these short just normal day vlogs
So that phone vlog looks and feels like a high school/ early college video project that went off properly by someone who did video editing in their free time and had more experience than normal. Shockingly good
Kathleen's intro was very... something. Something that put a silly smile on my face. The algorithmic video was supririsingly coherent, yet with enough random JANK to be hilarious. Especially how it sounds like you spent prize tickets obtaining the advice of locals. Also, surprise Mei! Nice. Oh and your mondayvlog was good too. Thanks for sharing!
I'm shocked at how good that AI generated video is. Like I knew it wouldn't be god awful terrible, but holy crap there were good transitions, it cut off sentences but it had a clear narrative, I knew what was happening. The future is crazy.
Not a fan of the phone's music choice. Bit of a departure from your style. And I spent the whole thing trying to figure out what the algorithm thought worthy. So far it's: shots of travel/movement, strict information (i.e, time, location), opinions you've put forward, and quick, almost ad friendly shots of 'socializing'.
Graham, these are always enjoyable. Your average day is much more interesting than most, and you are very entertaining, so keep them coming. Your phones edit was surprisingly well done, just cut short a few times before you or Beej finished your sentence.
Really enjoyed this video G. Also didn't know you were playing dnd again and am pumped to catch up! So glad this was recommended to me randomly, didn't even know you had a channel. Keep it up!
I used to only watch the Unskippable stuff Graham and Paul did back in the day and never really looked at their LRR stuff til recently. There's a lot of stuff for me to watch now. I especially enjoy the VLOGS though.
If iOS still has that auto-video compilation feature, it would be interesting to see how the new AI content recognition handles making videos now, 5 years on.
Very smart that your phone did that minus the parts it kept cutting you off when talking at times s-I had watched the original pax event video you posted up weeks ago prior to watching this, anyway keep up with your video blogs Graham.
Wow your phone is really coming along in terms of video production. That 3 minute video it edited was okay. It obviously needs to work on a few things but give it time and it will take your job(Probably not).
Robots seem pretty OK at editing montages. What would be really nice is if it provided you with an editor file so you could then tweak things to get them just right.
So Graham, I've been wondering for a few months now, did you guys have a lot of random people/fans show up at the old Moonbase? I'm just curious because it seems like from the loading time videos and such that you guys have gone to great pains to avoid showing the outside of the building, and I can only assume this is the reason, to stop randos from showing up at your place of business.
That’s exactly it, actually. Someone even labeled the old place on Google maps, as a TOURIST DESTINATION (which, apart from anything else, was super unfair to our landlord?). So we’re trying to keep it chill.
I kind of figured as much, and that's absolutely a good idea. I can see where the relaxed and friendly nature of what you do would make people think your offices are like, as you said in CH, a clubhouse where people can hang out, but of course, you're a place of business, and people should respect that. I'm sorry people had to be dicks and make things that much harder on you all.
Well, it's really nothing more than a codified set of 'rules' for 'how to make an interesting vlog that people will like', based on continual refinement based on constant input of implicit feedback garnered from social media sites (besides targeted ads, this is how UA-cam, Facebook, etc make money - telling clients things like "people are more likely to 'like' videos that have baby animals in them"). It's like an advertising agency's art department collected data on surveys and polls regarding what they produce, and then presented a 'style guide' to their art staff. The only difference here is, the staff being guided by this information (crafted into an algorithm rather than an office memorandum) are automated. It's really just a logical progression from what we've been doing (it's just taking ENORMOUS amounts of data to determine 'trends' and 'preferences' of us to specify in the steps of said algorithm), but it IS cool to see 'how far we've come'. :)
Just seeing some behind the scenes stuff outside of the more compressed style of loading time is refreshing, would I want tit for every day, definitely no. But ocationaly to see some more stuff the scenes
This is why I'm studying to be an engineer If robots gonna take all the jobs best get a job making the robots....oh shit what happens if the robots make robots that are designed to make robots...........welp we're all fucked
9:18 "Saying 'goodbye' to people. Cam and I both ended up with one prize tickets, so we pulled that for a set of -- recommendations of two separate locals." The phone is compositing its own full and complete thoughts. Should we be worried? I think we should be worried.
You should do a weekly vlog called Last Week where you vlog about your week. And then say see you last week. This is not a copied idea. It is totally original. Dont google it.
Also why do I feel like you're slowly transforming into Sami Zayn? Wait that isn't the vlog police, it's the WWE! Because stripping video from SwS wasn't enough!
I have to disagree, that phone auto edit vlog was pretty bad. The parts where there was no talking was ok, but every time anyone said anything, it cut it off right before it sounded like something important was about to be said. Extremely irritating. I think your jobs are safe. keep doing what you do as Hoomans.
I like this style of vlogging just regular days. It's kind of like a more chill Loading Time. As long as it doesn't make things harder for you, I'd love to see more of this!
The phone did a good job, but it's not a gvlog if it doesn't include slow motion footage of walking feet.
But it did! At 7:45, it's not slow motion but it did give a feets view.
Out of context Beej. Well done, phone.
KATHLEEN IS BEST INTRO
ViolentFrog agreed lol
9:19 Wow you can trade prize tickets for local opinions now? These events are really becoming part of the community
"so we pooled that for a set of a the recommandation of two seperate locals"
Robots can't do Kathleen intro.
I don't know why, but I kind of love the video at the end your phone edited on its own.
Thumbs up for tiny coffee banshee
"A+ presantation that was involved" i am dying
Now... did the phone add the music, or did you? Because once they start added their own royalty free music, then you know they are out for your job.
I am also curious as to the current intelligence level if our soon to be robot overlords.
EnigmaHarper apparently it did!!! *insert squidward future meme*
Yeah I hope Graham added the music, especially the fading it in and out when someone's talking. I wouldn't be surprised if there exists AI that can do that but I wouldn't think it would be so commonplace as to put it in phones and not makes a big deal of it.
I'm pretty sure my phone does that. Although I might be wrong
That was Awake by Tycho, so presumably some company signed a big deal to have that soundtrack a million AI-generated vlogs
Your iPhone clearly does not understand video and is allergic to long shots. But yeah, not bad! Probably more a factor of your mental pre-editing of what you choose to shoot and when.
However, “YES! Well, no, no, BUT” killed me.
"Please make sure your Beej is in upright and locked position"
Man, pausing Game Knights to watch North 100, pausing North 100 to watch this vlog. Thank you, Graham?
Also I'm fine with 'less' vlogs if they're always going to have these snappily edited 'ingots of gold' - god bless the refinement.

The beginning of this is friggin solid gold
Kathleen's intro was very... something. Something that put a silly smile on my face. The algorithmic video was supririsingly coherent, yet with enough random JANK to be hilarious. Especially how it sounds like you spent prize tickets obtaining the advice of locals. Also, surprise Mei! Nice. Oh and your mondayvlog was good too. Thanks for sharing!
Once your phone figures out the concept of a sentence, I think you're screwed. It's wing fixation was kind of neat though.
I know! I built almost the same sequence in MY edit!
Dang, your phone's match cut of the mariachi bar sign to the restaurant sign was shockingly good. Also Kathleen is an unparalleled delight
Loved the random Vlog drop! You made my Friday afternoon!
Phone Vlog! Love the burn your phone constructed for your airline company!
I'm shocked at how good that AI generated video is. Like I knew it wouldn't be god awful terrible, but holy crap there were good transitions, it cut off sentences but it had a clear narrative, I knew what was happening. The future is crazy.

So far it's: shots of travel/movement, strict information (i.e, time, location), opinions you've put forward, and quick, almost ad friendly shots of 'socializing'.
I thought it was funny that the phone selected a clip of Graham videoing a featureless wall. :P
Graham, these are always enjoyable. Your average day is much more interesting than most, and you are very entertaining, so keep them coming. Your phones edit was surprisingly well done, just cut short a few times before you or Beej finished your sentence.
Good lord. Robo-Stark did a pretty decent job.
Kathleen - Best hype-mn!
Really enjoyed this video G. Also didn't know you were playing dnd again and am pumped to catch up! So glad this was recommended to me randomly, didn't even know you had a channel. Keep it up!
I love your Vlogs, Graham. Thank you.
Moar normal day vlogging! So interesting! I LOVE mundane details like this.
Love how you can walk back and forth to work.
I actually really like seeing vlogs of average stuff. If you want to, I'd love to see more!
I definitely enjoy the travelling vlogs, but the chill, whatever's happening gvlogs are the best ones..
"Yeeeaaah...well, no, but we get to sort of...."
I used to only watch the Unskippable stuff Graham and Paul did back in the day and never really looked at their LRR stuff til recently. There's a lot of stuff for me to watch now. I especially enjoy the VLOGS though.
Like a Big Golden Turd, thank you Kathleen.
I always love the music and pacing for this vlog.
Graham's fone: I maked this!
Oh, I've got similar aquamarine dice, but mine have the numbers engraved. They're beautiful, but cameras don't do them justice.
The AI video looks and sounds like a video mortuary, like "ahh the good times.."
Omg Kathleen, that intro was amazing.
seeing that paragon logo makes me sad
That phone is gonna take all our jobs!
Gram, can you please tell me if hatebears is viable in modern with the new unbanning of Jace.
Elliot Bell to quote his phones edited vlog, "Yes! Well, no, no, but..."
I want Banshee coffee now. And... your phone gvlogs pretty decently. If your phone does that again on its own, please post that one too; it's amusing.
Wow, a blog episode made by your phone, man, your FBI agent is really considerate...
So did the phone put the music over the footage as well?
I was just wondering when the next GVlog would come out. :)
Interesting to see how it cuts when you pause too long while speaking. Tweak that and it's great.
someone needs to figure out how the robo vlog algorithm works so that you can construct a mad-libs style thing to create hilarious vlog content
This vlog has been brought to you by random noises
This is a good way to get a fast behind the seems like loading time used to be keep it up good work Graham
If iOS still has that auto-video compilation feature, it would be interesting to see how the new AI content recognition handles making videos now, 5 years on.
Phone AI made a nice choice of music. (Tycho - Awake)
Do you have that album on your phone?
I enjoyed this vlog. Especially Kathleen's intro.
I enjoy these and wish you would do more :)
That Gorillaz shirt is supremely kickass
Very smart that your phone did that minus the parts it kept cutting you off when talking at times s-I had watched the original pax event video you posted up weeks ago prior to watching this, anyway keep up with your video blogs Graham.
Maybe to a robot, "Calgary" and "Victoria" are just Canadian-human-places, and it doesn't distinguish between the two.
Where is the music from?
That phone auto-edit is a little more on-brand than I'm fully comfortable with.
What if Beej’s are they looking at? I’m worried for the boy
Every time i see you in that humanz shirt i try to find a shop that sells them in xxxl do you know where i might find one?
I got it at a concert on the Humanz tour, but I’m sure you’d be able to find it online somewhere?
Graham Stark yeah i keep seeing it only up to xxl size and on Hot Topic they only have in in girls, guess i missed out still love the shirt!
The phone can do actual, proper, Kubrick-ish match cuts? Oh we are so fucked.
Wow, your phone made you a music video!
Also the stone dice are probably dyed selenite.
So Graham, I've been wondering for a few months now, did you guys have a lot of random people/fans show up at the old Moonbase? Love the normal day.
Wait... did the phone ADD IN THE BACKING MUSIC TOO???? ... the future, man...
It did!! 😦
And the cuts on the first few clips were pretty nicely on the beat of the music, even G nodding in one shot... Impressive? But also scary.
I'm scared.

I would say that your job editing videos is quite safe for a while still
Normal day vlog was great!
Just seeing some behind the scenes stuff outside of the more compressed style of loading time is refreshing, would I want tit for every day, definitely no. But ocationaly to see some more stuff the scenes
Well, I guess the future is now with that phone!
Oh shit vine 2.0!
That was enjoyable. :D
Google's pretty good at this video-editing thing, even when they're not editing.
"Calgary To San FRANCISCO"
This is why I'm studying to be an engineer
If robots gonna take all the jobs best get a job making the robots....oh shit what happens if the robots make robots that are designed to make robots...........welp we're all fucked

Huh Graham is a Gorillaz t shirt
great thumbnail
I did not think Kathleen was there in the outro.
Nice hat
9:21 lol
Just rolling with the interference. ... omg not even to San Antonio. it thinks you went to SF. XD. Phone Pls.
I kinda wish you slipped in like a fake murder or something into the montage just to throw people off.
that was pretty damn impressive robo-editing. Teach it how to handle sentences and it'd be surprisingly effective.
Also why do I feel like you're slowly transforming into Sami Zayn?
Wait that isn't the vlog police, it's the WWE! Because stripping video from SwS wasn't enough!
They took our vlogs!
Fun
who needs video editors when u have ur phone, lol
Vine 2.000000000000000000!
I have to disagree, that phone auto edit vlog was pretty bad. Hi graham
Good vid
Before even watching the video? :)
In fairness, that IS LRR in a nutshell.
I'm not that phone is a bad editor.
what's funny to me is that, I watched your entire iPhone created video when I give No fucks about my own iPhone created videos....derp
What the robot did is impressive for an algorithm but i'm not watching those on the regular :)
