I think this is fine to go on the LRR main channel, I think a lot of people there enjoy it (and won't realise it's here), and it's marked clearly enough that those who don't care for it can skip it (like I do, not being a magic player, with the TTC podcast).
As long as you keep making them though, that's the most important thing

Vlogs are endlessly more amusing when you realise how many of the shots are staged. For example, the shot where he entered the office, or just after that when he put his coffee down in front of the computer. Looks like a nice slice of his life, until you realise he already had to enter each room to position his camera, and then retrace his steps for the perfect shot.

I hope people aren't hassling you too much about Agatha Fisty. personally, I'm excited for when the adventures of the one punch Gran continue, but the fact that you do it when you can/want to is part of what makes it such a joy when it lands in my subs feed.
the Gvlogs are a cool peek into your actual human life that I didn't realize I wanted until seeing your trip across Japan turned out to be this un-sensationalized presentation of people enjoying good things that came like a gift at a stressful time in my life.
all that to say, thanks for sharing a little more of your life, your vlogs are welcome anytime, and please don't let entitled assholes put you off of making more cool and fun stuff whenever it strikes you.

I appreciate these little glimpses. Everyone has their favorite content you and the whole crew do, but I feel it is just as, if not more important that you, all of you, enjoy what you're doing. My point is keep vloging and I for one will keep watching. I realized yesterday watching Hustle that LRR has become like a tv network where I enjoy almost all the shows and more than that it has become this weird one-sided friendship and I miss you all when I am all caught up and there is nothing new to watch.

Wow, you turned this around FAST. It's very interesting to see a typical day-in-the-life of LRR, what goes into it, how the day gets parceled out, etc. Thanks!
Technical feedback: I suggest raising the volume of your voice and lowering the volume of the music. Had to really crank my speakers to make out the words. Beyond that, sharp editing!

Hey Graham, just enjoy your 'you time' and take it easy. We are a patient bunch and appreciate all the work you have put in over the years. And you now have a family that you'd also want to spend time with. So just, enjoy yourself and don't feel pressured into doing all those things that take you away from the things you love. Doing comedy is something that should make you feel happy, not make you feel stressed.

Re confidently striding into traffic: Random unsolicited advice: If you are walking across an intersection and a stopped car starts moving, the correct response is to 1) get the heck out of the way, and 2) wonder what the heck they are doing and/or try to get their attention; I have found from experience that other orders of operations are not the best choice (fortunately I was not /seriously/ injured). :D

I know it's standard cinematic language, but on every shot of Graham entering a room, I can't not think about him coming into the room once to set up the camera, then leaving to come back in for the shot. Maybe it's the fact that I know it's a one-man/one-camera production that makes this stick out? I don't know.

... signs that I'm definitely not accustomed to cold weather: at about 5:15 into the video, Graham takes off his jacket, and it only just occurred to me that he was wearing a jacket and would want to take it off once he was inside. Like, it cut to him wearing something different and my immediate reaction was "Why did Graham change clothes? Did he spill coffee on himself?? Does he just have random non-costume changes of clothes at the Moonbase?" Not once did the concept of a jacket to keep warm in cold weather cross my mind.

I have a question. Regarding the way you set up your vlog camera. You obviously have the handheld.
But, inside the Moonbase, do you set those up beforehand (or always have ones up?) Or do you place your handhelds at the spot to get cool shots for this?
Another question. I'm curious regarding that spoderman icon, could one be able to know what that might be? Or is it a LRR top secret!
Also, fantastic to find out you got your own channel for Vlogs now!

So Graham. I notice that in these vlogs you seem to walk to work, and any time you are in a car, you are not driving and Kathleen is. I'm curious if this is due to an inability to drive, either by chose or medical reasons, as I too am not a driver, and there is a part of me that always feels a little self conscious about that. Either walking everywhere or needing to get rides to places from various people, including my mom. And whether it would impact my dating life if I actually had one. I guess I'm saying that it's nice to see someone coping so well with something that society often looks down on, e.g; "What, you can't drive, how do you get around, you're not very mature if you can't drive." etc, etc. Stupid hegemonic societal ideals.
    Also at 7:05 Thermo STAT!

    • @spyone4828
      @spyone4828 7 років тому

It is my understanding that several of the LRR folks do not have licenses because they never saw a need: Victoria appears to be a remarkably walkable city. (Not shown: also has buses.)
I believe Alex and Cam both get to the Moonbase through a combination of buses and walking.
In fact, this lack of driving makes a bit of an issue when they need to shoot on location: They would need to schedule for a day when James was free because he has a minivan, and when they needed a car for use in a video that usually meant Beej.
I remember Kathleen being mentioned (in a Loading Time? For "Junk in the Trunk"?) as a licensed driver who didn't own a car (though she has one now that she's a mom).
BTW: I'm 47 and I don't drive. I walk, I ride the bus, I own a bicycle, I used to drive, and would find it easier to get around, but my budget does not include car ownership.
