    I might’ve missed it, what size amp is that? I have a JL rd1000/1 I’m going to install to replace my jd500/1 that I’m running 2 JL 10w3v3-4 and I’m curious if the eld will cause any problems with a 1000 watt amp, was also going to do big 3, the voltage you’re referring to in the end is because of the ELD sensor.

      Hello @Out of Mind
      The amp used in this video is the Sundown SFB 1000D Mono amp. Yes the “eld” will cause a problem with the low voltage being provided due to it regulating it under 13 Volts. The Big 3 will definitely make a big difference compared to the tiny 8 gauge stock cables; for the power and ground cables. My customer is unsure if he wants me to mess with his ELD sensor as he doesn’t want any issues with his Daily. On my Ford Focus ST I actually removed my sensor and haven’t had any issues over the last two years since it’s been removed. Let me know if you find a solution for the Honda.
      Thanks for watching and your feedback.

      @@synaudio9778 thanks for your input, I have done a LOT of research on this and you can either spend 7-800 on a hondata flashpro to change ecu setting to run constant 14 volts, or you can unplug it and deal with the dash warning, not sure if that could cause any other issues, but from what I’ve read some people just turn off the warning everytime they start the car. I love the 9th gen Si but almost any performance mod requires a reflash, it sucks. Good video btw, there’s not too many out there for these cars. Also, on JLs website for the rd1000/1 if it’s running at 12.5v you still push up to 800w just not going to get full capacity unless you always drive with headlights and ac on 😂

      I guess I will recommend him to unplug his eld and I can raise his amp to play his sub to it’s full potential, but I will let him know the warnings before he makes his decision. I understand they design the cars to be more fuel efficient and for components to last longer, but these little challenges can be a headache when trying to upgrade the cars. I hope you enjoy your setup and thanks for the positive feedback to help my channel.

    how important is removing the paint for the ground? ive unprofessionally installed 5 or 6 sounds systems and i never did that

      also is that lc2 converter so you dont have to take an audio cable directly from the head unit and just use the signal from the speakers in the back?

    • @synaudio9778
      @synaudio9778  Рік тому

      Hello @Tyler
      Yes, removing the paint for your ground is important to get the best ground needed for your system. I always make sure to use clear coat to seal it from the weather and prevent rusting.
      You are correct the LC2i is needed when using factory radios or when trying to get a clean signal for amplifiers and adjusting voltage into the amp. Each amplifier has its own input voltage to maximize performance without turning up the gain as much.
      Hopefully, this helps answer your questions.

    Do you know the length of the power wire you installed?

    • @synaudio9778
      @synaudio9778  Рік тому +1

      Hello @Jamie’s Reviews
      On this Honda I used 16ft length for the power cable. It’s always good to go a bit longer on your cable just to not fall short and not have enough wire. You can always cut off a piece and reuse it for future upgrades.

    Why did you only tap the signal from the left speaker? Is it unnecessary to go from both speakers? I have the same car with a similar setup (2 12inch subs, 1200watt amp, lc2i pro). Is your reasoning behind only using the left speaker because: his amp is a mono, something to do with ohms, or something else? Thank you

      Bass isn’t directional so you won’t be missing anything by only tapping in to the left side

    I'm not planning on a regular box tbh. I wanna do a custom box, but taking measurements sucks sometimes.

      Hello @killthecosmos
      Definitely a custom box is more eye appealing will make your set up look a lot more the way you like it to be. The measurements can be time consuming but the outcome is well worth it. What are you planning for your Honda; is it a show car?

    I was just wondering why didn’t you feed it through the firewall wouldn’t that be much easier

    • @synaudio9778
      @synaudio9778  Рік тому +2

      @Jr Gonzalez
      You are correct, feeding the cable through the firewall could be an option, but for me, running it through the fender was an easier challenge, and it keeps the cable as far as possible from the engine heat. Their will always be multiple ways to run wires I guess it just comes down to preference and choice. If you run it through fire wall just make sure cable has a grommet to prevent getting a short due to the cable insulation getting damaged over time. Great question.
      Thank you,

    Bro. You have any videos how to bypass the amp for 2013 si w/ navigation equip. Thanks thumbs up for the video

      Hello @WilL i aMM
      I actually don’t have a video about bypassing the stock amp on this Honda. But what is your end goal by bypassing the stock amp? Are you by any chance changing to a new stereo? I would like to help just let me know.
      Thank you,

      @@synaudio9778 yes. I recently installed a pioneer aftermarket head unit and it sounds terrible. My friends 9th gen civic LX (no factory amp). with same pionner head unit sound waayy cleaner and better. Thanks

      @WilL i aMM
      I see what you mean now by bypassing the stock amplifier. I worked on an Acura TL a few months ago and they were having a similar issue with speakers blowing due to distortion from the speaker signal being amplified twice causing clipping. You could always bypass your amp and connect your speakers directly to the stereo by running some new wires unless they sell a kit to make your job easier. I currently have my stock amp on my 2104 Ford Focus ST just running my tweeters and my stock radio which has navigation. This has worked great so far in my car but I know yours might have its own challenges to bypass it.

      He is using the rear stock speaker connectión, so most likely he ís using a stock radio. If this car had n aftermarket radio, he wouldn't need that LC2.

    Yeah that’s not good, an alternator at idle should be at least 13.9-14.4 depending on the load.

      Hello @Brian Waller
      You are correct and that’s something I brought up to car owner and he said he would be open to upgrades and trouble shooting in the future. As of now he’s saving up some money for improving his electrical.
