This is such a real thing, idk why it’s not talked about more! I felt so low for over a week after I fully weaned my daughter.

I had horrible weaning depression. I was an exclusive pumper and SO excited to be done pumping, but long story short I had to do it VERY slowly. This needs to be talked about more. It was honestly very scary until I did my own research and learned what was going on. That knowledge got me through it

Omg the timing! I stopped breastfeeding at 10 months, on month 11 anxiety hit me like a truck and I am still struggling 2 months later. Scheduled a therapy appointment for tomorrow and praying this is over soon 😭😭

This video gave me so much hope!!! As simple as it may seem, bra shopping after I stop breastfeeding next year is one of my most anticipated activities 🤩 congrats on your next life milestone 🎉 watching you enjoying your life with and without your kiddos is very encouraging for me (working at home with a toddler and a new born😅) 💕

Thank you so much! It does feel so good getting out of the crazy baby stage 😄. You’re going to love bra shopping haha!

Thank you so much for raising that topic! It is helpful to know post-weaning blues await ahead. Love the blue top, too 😊

This was such a wonderful vlog. I am in the same spot right now of trying to find time to myself for moments of enjoyment. I loved the garden plants overview and climbing. Both hobbies I would like to get back to. :)

I stopped exclusively pumping a month before a road trip. That was kind of perfect timing because I got a big serotonin boost watching my little go on his first trip (not the drive though I would never recommend a 8hr road trip with a 7month old to anybody)
Also 😂❤I feel so seen looking at your house lol. I just got so snippy this past weekend because my house was a disaster after I had just cleaned.

Thank you for raising the topic. I just stoped breastfeeding (past two days) and I didn’t know about post weaning depression. It is definitely something to keep an eye for and I am so glad I waterbed your video. One thing that I struggle is the guilt of stopping and I can see that being a thought that brings me down. One day at a time as they say

That explains why my depression started after breastfeeding for 3 years, and right after the pandemic hit and I'm still struggling with depression 😢

I slowly weaned my daughter from 17-19 months when we fully stopped and I still struggled with post-weaning depression and suddenly gained 5 pounds also. She’s now 21 months and I am feeling a lot better. I can definitely tell in hind sight that’s what I was dealing with.

It’s makes sense to get depressed. I plan to ween my daughter in 2 months when she turns 2 and I’m already feeling anxious at the thought. When you think about it, your body is literally going through drug withdraws from oxytocin that would usually be released during breastfeeding.

This is a thing! I get "the three days of rage" when I wean my kids.

At 18 months when I went back to work I cried every day for like 2-3 months. I hadn't spent that much time away from my daughter (I work graveyards so I'd be gone like 10:30pm and wouldn't see her till 3:30pm the next day) and it also reduced the frequency of nursing and I could feel a palpable wave of sadness wash over my body. It was a cool hormonal drop (like actually felt cold when it'd happen) and I focussed on the fact I could feel the hormones and knew what was going on. It made me super bitch to my boyfriend though, took it out on him.

Still in the breastfeeding time, that is so good to know. Esp. the weight gain, because I can't gain weight and really I want to be at the same weight I was before pregnancy. But sudden weight changes are never fun for me. My mind just needs time to adjust. At least I know it could happen. ❤

I’m nervous about this. I nursed for over 2 years and didn’t wean until I was pregnant… and now I’ve been nursing baby #2 for 9m. I’m really hoping to wean before 2y but that will be the first time I’m not pregnant/breastfeeding in over 5 years

I never weaned my son it just happened naturally. My son could always freely come to connect by breastfeeding. He was nursing six years.

Love to see this. Ive been breastfeeding for 2 years with no intention of stopping. I worry so much about weaning and I always hope it will be easier if I let my child self wean (however long that may be).

@@jordenthegreat exactly! U don't have to wean if u don't want to. I never had any negative symptoms of declining breastfeeding coz it all happened naturally.

My third child is now 14 months and she breastfeeds around 3-4times a day and in comparison to my previous babies it’s very little. I want to cut it off eventually only once a day in the morning and then just start having different routine. I actually am breastfeeding for 7 years 🤯
