I guess I agree and disagree. They do a generally good job, but one shot, one trip mileage calculations might not be representative of the bigger picture. Should really be collected over the course of ownership. Split out city and highway mileage if it means something to you, but there are too many variables in a single trip.

@@TFLtruck Love the show Andre but some inconsistencies on fuel economy is evident. First is I wouldn't bother testing fuel economy and calling it real world until there is at least 5,000 miles. Second, Fords should never get the 30 second top off. It says so in the manual that it can cause damage. Third, I like to see more long distance drives for fuel economy. Only 50-100 miles is not realistic.

@@TFLtruck When are you guys going to do what everybody wants to see?
F150, Tundra, Ram 1500, Silverado on IKE GAUNTLET?
All we have now is single tow or at best 2 cars towing. A video for everybody who tows daily. So we can finally have a good MPG and power comparison with the same trucks and the same engines.
The gas and the hybrids separated. Because gas vs hybrid videos we already have. But not the big 4 vs each other on the same day in the same circumstances.
Preferably WITHOUT off road packages. Cattle haulers and people with 5th wheels usually don't leave highways.
You are more and more about off roading, but majority of North America never leave tarmac/paved roads. And if, then it's just a dirt road to a parking space at a mountain bike park or something

GM used to say you shouldn't go on a long drive at constant rpm while breaking in the engine. Don't know if that's changed though. Noticed in my Ford that the mileage can really vary with cross/tail/ head winds and when I had bigger tires on in the winter gas mileage plummted. Also think cold, dense air of winter hurts it. Best MPG is at 'room temp' like 60-80 F.

This makes me realize that there’s a real market for a true “TRX light” - keep the transfer case/gearing/suspension - all
Of it, just omit the hellcat engine for the “standard” SRT 6.4L n/a V8 & drop the price accordingly- will sell like hotcakes & wouldn’t see it hurt other Ram sales or the wrangler 392 really.

    • @mikelliteras397

That’s why Ford is keeping the current Raptor and adding the R. The next TRX will be the straight 6 tho. 2 V8’s don’t make sense either. Not really sure that adding $20k to the Raptor to get the V8 sound is worth it. I know there’s a couple hundred more HP but it’s easy to bump the V6 to 600hp. I bet the computer will keep anyone from getting the 700hp anywhere but a drag strip or dry lake bed anyway.

I just purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra AT 4 limited with the 3 liter duramax. Two 260 mile round trips Fort Collins to Frisco and it was 25 mpg. Even With diesel so much more than 91 octane, it is sill less expensive overall than gas. While they both have 460 lbs torque at sea level, the gas engine looses 3 % power every 1000 feet in elevation. that's a 33% loss in power as you enter the Eisenhower tunnel at 11,000 feet. Turbos loose very little. I am amazed how the 3.0 duramax flys up the tunnel approaches. Also I bought the 2022 limited. That beautiful new dashboard in the ZR2 adds $3,200 TO THE PRICE of the latest of either the sierra or silverado. My AT 4 was $63500 with sunroof, running boards and several other options . The AT 4 may not be as good off road as the ZR 2, but I have no desire to take a $67,000 truck up Hells Revenge or Poison Spyder. I'll stick with an Polaris RZR or Kawasaki KRX 1000 for some real fun on those trails. Keep up all the great tests you do,

But after 10 minutes, I wanted to get out of the thing. Those seats were horrible! I’ve sat on park benches that were more comfortable!
