Andy Pavlov is a South Slavic pianist and composer whose fascination for the piano as an object that holds an infinity of sounds and styles led him from a formal training in classical music to an exploration of contemporary music and conceptual art.
So far, he’s got to be known as a member of one of the world’s best piano duos - LP Duo, a project of two classically trained musicians, mainly performing traditional and 20th century contemporary classical music and developing a completely new instrument - the Hybrid Piano. LP Duo managed to rack up over 30 awards at international music competitions between them to date, both as solo artists and with their contributions to music as a pair.
Taking inspiration from musicians such as John Cage, Thelonious Monk, Gurdjieff/De Hartmann, Ruben Gonzales and Dutch minimalist Simeon ten Holt, Andy Pavlov developed a style uniquely his own, which merges the sensitivity of classical music with minimalism, always following the bold desire to experiment, creating music for the heart and soul.
‘Me and My Love on the Road to Honduras’ is the solo debut album of Belgrade-born composer and pianist Andy Pavlov. The album was inspired by the depth and mystery of a period in his life when everything he thought he knew evaporated before a great love, a home and an understanding of his own self emerged from the fog.
