Me too. I bought a rowing machine and I've never done this kind of exercise before, not even when I was younger and used to go to the gym. Very useful.
Got this for my birthday. Can’t wait to try. I use thee Concept 2 at the gym but am on a budget. Wanted to get this to make sure I stay consistent before spending $$$ on my own concept 2.
@@kempetai2099 Sorry for the late reply. Im horrible at seeing notifications that someone replied. I think it was worth it to start and see if I would stick with rowing when a rower was in my home. But it soon was not enough. I rowed on other rowers again, and they work so much smoother. The fact that I couldn't get a full stride because of the handle placements quickly became annoying too. I also found that my rower was not measuring distance correctly. It was measuring 3 meters per stroke, regardless of effort or push off. Which is simply not the case. The harder the push off, the longer distance you cover. So if you think you will stick with it, get the Concept2.
Hi this rower is sold out both on Amazon and the doufit store . Can you recommend a next rower that is under 300 dollars. That has the stationary foot pedal ,quiet and works well for weight loss.
What is your take on Dynamic Rowers? Maybe you can do a review on the concept 2 dynamic rowers and give us a comparison to static rowers? I know it's out of topic on this video just throwing it out there coz I am trying to decide which rower to get. Thank you.
Looks pretty good! Could you do a review on smaller ones? Not the hydraulic ones but the magnetic resistance ones with smaller discs. So the front part is smaller and you don't fold it but lift the back part to make it stand. They should be around 150 to 200 dollars if you get a good deal.
I'm really interested in buying a rower, but we dont have this one in my country. I'm looking into some rower called progressive rw2000 it's in a good price and it's says that it's both magnet and air resistance. How fo you think is it good? It's discounted right now and the promotion ends soon so i really think into buying it.
I took the long route to get my concept 2 D model. I have used the concept 2 in the gyms but did not want to pay full price for new. Just got used one on Kiiji and worth every penny
Ya especially if you can find a used one you can resell it later down the road for thr same price and take no loss. Free rower! Not many things hold their value.
@@kellygulutz3992 I was lucky a friend of mine saw the ad and sent it to me. One person before me contacted the seller made arrangements then never contacted seller again
Hello . Thank you very much for your videos motivate me to buy a model concept 2 model D i just got it yesterday . But I have some problem I am 6.7 foot 2,03 in cm tall . When my leg are straight the seat touch at the end of monorail . Do you think I doing something wrong or I can adjust ? I hope you can help me
the rowing is very easy to set up. they have many difficult levels to choose from and work on. It doesn't make a big noise. my family all enjoy working out.
I am on my 6th rowing maching, I had two concept A, then a couple of budget rowers and finally found a used Concept D. Really really find a used good working Concept machine. Huge difference. Should have looked for a used one earlier.
@@SwindonRunner I was trading my way up. The first one was given to us and the main chain broke. At the time did not think of fixing chain. But if you look them up they were original rowers with the plastic cards for damper in the spokes. Second one I bought and sold to buy my next rower. Then kept buying and trading till I got my Concept D on Kiiji. I have my water rower up for sale on Facebook but not sold yet. My mistake they were concept A www.concept2.com/service/indoor-rowers/model-a
Hey man! Thanks for your rowing machine reviews! It's helping me a lot in my journey into this. What do you think of the ADVENOR Magnetic Rowing Machine vs this one? I was sold on this one based on your review but I didn't see anywhere where you can put your phone or tablet so I can follow some rowing exercises. Appreciate the input.
On C2 calories burnt is an estimate based on the power put into the machine and the time of workout. The equation calculating calories burnt is simple and can be found on the C2 webpage. The only physical quantity that ergometer measures, is the power put into the machine by the athlete. Together with the clock measuring the time it gives the work (in joules, W=P*t). Every other metric (distance, velocity, split, calories) is calculated from either the power itself (split, velocity) or from the work performed (calories). The distance is calculated as velocity times time. The constants in the relevant formulae are completely chosen to imitate the real, on-water average experience. Their exact value is not very critical as far as athletes compete on machines of the same kind. That's why comparison of results between different athletes on different C2 machines is reliable.
I got a XS Sports R110 Home Rowing Machine last week to start off with rowing, it’s a bungee style machine and after a week of using it I can honestly say I am now saving for something like concept 2!!
thanks for the review. i just got one from amazon and it actually shows kilometers now up to two decimal points. the calories burned also have been pretty close to what my apple watch says funny enough(yes i know it's just a bad estimate of work done).
I had multiple strokes heart and brain issues no balance like this one works great for me so far by the way 6'2" so I figured I'd fit under the tall people
So I’m looking to buy my first rower and it seems the concept 2 model D has been replaced by the concept 2 rowERG. I’m assuming it’s the same but what’s the difference between standard legs and tall legs? Is it worth the extra money. Thanks
I bought a rowing machine that's pretty much like that one ($280) but I've never done this kind of exercise before, not even when I was younger and used to go to the gym a lot. Fortunately I'm 5'10 so I don't have any problems with the lenght of the machine. Anyway, thank you very much. 👏👏👏👏👏
Has anyone else had issues with the distance measurements though? No matter the damper or the power I put in the drive, I still get the same result on the screen: 5 strokes/0.01mi (about 3m/stroke). Im saying, NO MATTER the power, NO MATTER the damper, NO MATTER the effort...always the same. And way less than the average distance per stroke. So frustrating. I get on a Concept2 and row much further in a 20 or 30 min session. Then I get my own rower and thing my fitness has fallen off even when I am pushing my hardest.
I found other models (Not C2) tend to measure 500M time and total distance differently. For example, recently I had the opportunity to try out a Spirit 900 (kinda expensive from Taiwan) rower, when I am rowing at 26 SPM consistently, the 500M time is about 5 min, which is apparently way off and the distance meter changes very slowly as well. In my opinion, if you also train for on the water row, definitely go for a C2.
I just found one that looks pristine on mercari for a bill...good buy? I know I like rowing but I want to get my wife into it and I think this may open the door to one of those Really nice ones...idk any comment is ok except if you're asking ☝️ me TOO TeXT you.

Really helpful, thanks. I have been looking at this rowing machine, but here in Sweden it's named "Thunder"
Thanks for the “sitting on your junk” tip. It really made a huge difference in relieving my lower back pain!
Please tell us what else budget rower is good. Not just this one that's out of stock :(

Last year I purchased a new MaxKare air rower/erg for $360. Resistance increases with speed. The erg has worked flawlessly. I am satisfied with it.

The tall legs are taller. I know it’s obvious but that’s the only difference, it’s for people with lower mobility that can’t really bend down that far
Has anyone found this lately online? I took a look in Amazon Canada but it's not currently available...🤔
