As someone who moved out of Va to NM a few years ago, I do appreciate the no mark ups that Va ABC had. Although I've been able to get some insane bottles out here for around msrp.
I got bangers at the last two Va ABC drops. I also get my pop to take me to the coast guard exchange occasionally. They often have stuff sitting on the shelf that is allocated at Va ABC. Last time i went they had Bookers 2023-04 just sitting on the shelf. A week later the was still one sitting there
The Belmont 10 year is a drain pour. Lots of good bourbon on VABC shelves. Sad that the John J. Is allocated now. Used to be able to walk in and grab a case at a time.
Glad to find someone who has tried the Belmont. Figured it couldn’t be great since none of them seem to be moving, thanks for taking one for the team! I sure miss seeing JJB on the shelves.
That Bernheim BP gets overlooked a lot, great bottle! Finding Bowman on the shelf used to be one of the best things about VA ABC but it’s allocated now as of a few months ago. But they usually hang around for awhile after a drop.
@@averagejoeswhiskey TBH the ABC stores are a lot better depending on what you're looking for. It's the prices: PX pricing usually beats ABC by a few $ at least - and there's no tax (ex: EW 1783 was $12 this past month).
Get it together joe

Great Idea. Love the interaction in the video, Cheers!
Thanks man, not a ton of super desirable bottles to hunt around here but tried to make it interesting 😆
For $50 grab a 4 roses small batch select, better than 80% of what's on the shelf. Single barrel is great too 😋 Cheers 👍 😉 🥃
just answered the vids question
I do like to keep those on hand. Delicious bottles for the price.
I love it I think it turned out great for on the fly!
Hell yea, appreciate your hospitality!
They didn’t have Ragged Branch? IMO, that’s some good VA stuff. That wheated is an everyday for me. But a lot of their limited is delicious.
Many of the stores have Ragged Branch but not all. Their cowboy cut is one of my favorite bottles right now

Woodford Double Oak, JD SiB BP, Rare Breed, Larceny BP, Old Forester 1920, Four Roses Small Batch Select
Can’t go wrong with any of these
I think you can find Russel's Reserve Single Barrel at every VA ABC.
Certainly most stores have it. That would have been a solid choice too
I think the JD SBBP rye is a great choice. that’s something that is actually more widely available in VA than other places.

Russel's Reserve is a solid buy and available most everywhere
I do love me some RR
@@averagejoeswhiskeyAnother 🥇 winner out of Lawrenceburg KY AND, it IS a wheater!😂
Snagged a Very Old Barton 100 on my recent trip to Nashville as they don’t have them in GA and it’s solid for $16.99
Definitely one of the handful of bottles under $20 that’s real whiskey
I'm a big fan of the VO Barton, it's my 1.75ltr. Weller green label wannabe! 😂 ( not a 🌾, but who cares, )tasty stuff nonetheless--
That Old Ezra cask strength is a 'grab 'em both'!!😮😮Worth it, for 😱 sure!
I’m a fan of the old Ezra’s, surprised they’ve been sitting.
I go to VA ABC for Bernheim BP and an occasional John J Bowman.

Want to drop by the Class VI at Belvoir you should drop me a line.
For sure, how’s the selection there? I hear good things but never had the opportunity to go

Rare Bread? Barrell?
Definite contenders. Although the Vantage is probably my favorite Barrell and they don’t have those everywhere.
Rare breed is better than that
@@skateaspired hard to argue it’s not. Rare breed can go up against anything really
