Hey Paul I have a 92 suburban with 454 (collapsed lifter I think.. ran good till I let it sit 5 months ... Dohh)... The front end needs a rebuild both sides, it's 4wd.. 4 wheels good never got stuck, 480le tranny , not sure of the xfer case...it's a Cali vehicle so very little rust. Would you be interested in it?
I had a 1989 4x4 with factory rims and beauty rings always wanted one finally had and put on my bucket list, and let it sit a while sadly I had a 2008 Harley ulta low rider, and S-10 , had major heart attack, forcing me into retiring and liquidate everything value to keep my head over water friend bought Harley and let me know he had pickup you always wanted, he had yard of 4x4's , I bought unseen had delivered, exactly I wanted, specifically for rim's put it on back burner little bit, financial problems had let go it, seeing sharing your resurrection warmed my heart seeing running, I couldn't complete mine thank you.

Glendale and Orderville are close together in the canyon, highway 89 is the main road they were on. Everybody knows everybody’s business, small town Utah.

If you put your back against the vehicle it’s much easier. Can’t always be done but that tailgate sure would work.

I must be getting old because an 1989 chevy truck is now being called vintage lol.
You call them " vintage truck's". Makes me feel old. I drove one like that for 11 years and 300,000 miles trouble free till the trans went out. Wish they built them that way today.

I love working on the old throttle body 4.3 L truck. I still drive my rusted to death WT 1990 GMC Sierra SL.😥😥Love the walk of shame back to the house alway's a joy for sure.

My buddies Z71 from that era went through about 5 transmissions in about the same amount of years. It makes me think that the truck is perfect for the fab rats crew...they love taking transmissions out
Every episode I see Paul wrenching reminds me 20 yrs ago watching the show " Trucks " on the USA network. How I miss those days. This show " Fab rats " is even better. Paul has an organic star glow lol the guy is smart and hilarious naturally. 😂

Can't go wrong with the ole 350 TBI. I've had a few and they're extremely reliable.
Kids today...I swear. That includes Paul, by the way.
Put you backs against whatever you're pushing and turn your hands so they're actually pulling upwards. For example: grab the underside of the bumper so that when your legs are driving backwards, it creates a little lift. In doing so, it forces your shoulders more in contact with whatever you're pushing.
Once you get whatever you're trying to push in good, steady motion, THEN you can turn and face the vehicle and push that way.
You get more torque that way and it saves your lower back from too much strain.

This needs to be Grayden’s truck. The way he was looking at it and asking about it when he saw it reminded me of myself when I was little asking about my grandpa’s truck that I wanted so bad and ended up being mine. This would be a perfect first truck for him

Remember when you dialled the pressure down on the benders lower rams to make the headache rack? You need to dial it back up a bit. That’s why it’s sucking the back of the pipe in. Can’t remember the exact pressure for a Huth, but others usually start at around 1200psi. With larger diameter pipe, say 2&1/2 up, in heavier gauges you can reduce pressure past about 75° to help the bender a bit

Hi Paul and all the Fab Rats family. I am the wife of this subscriber! He watches all your videos and just loves them! He used to be more active, but he has a bad back that surgery didn't fix. He has owned his 2002 Dodge Ram since 2019/20 and does not want to lose it. It has been well maintained before and by him. But the oil pan has some rust holes starting to leak and since it's a 4x4 so it's really expensive to take to a mechanic. He knows he can do the work, but his back says otherwise. He probably didn't think I was listening when he said, "I wish I still had friends like that.". It's really sad that it is true. He had friends but they all seemed rather put off by his inability to physically do stuff anymore. So, he takes care of us and watches the UA-cam channels of Fab Rats and Matt Offroad Recovery and Robby Layton. He would never ask me or anyone for that matter for help. He would let it sit and rust apart before he spent money to fix it if he knew me or the girls would need something. He always gives and never asks or expects anything in return. He will suffer just so the people he loves wont. I know it's probably way outside any scope of reality for me to even ask if there was something you could do. He would absolutely cry in front of me for what would probably be the 3rd or 4th time in the 16 years we been married. But I am also sure you have plenty of other people asking for things. I could go on and on, but I thought what's the harm in just asking. Thank you for making enjoyable content and making my husband laugh and smile, Elizabeth!

Luckily enough, Paul has a storage yard where this one can ripen before Graydon starts driving! In fact, there's an empty spot a Jeepster just came out of.
I think Graydon has his eyes on that beauty! It even already has a custom paint job on it. That's a real diamond in the rough only needing a little buffing here and there.

I had a friend who went fishing way up North back in the bush with his Chevy P/U when went to leave it would not start . Fuel pump, took Jerry can out of boat rigged up hand primer pump over throttle , drove 40 miles to town like that . Nice treasure you brought home

GM used to send some of those trucks to conversion van up fitters to get interior upgrades. They were cool.

New tank is insurance. However I've seen people tumble tanks with great success. Diesel and some chains, ratchet strap it to your tractors big tire. Hopefully you can do that in the future.

for those who want to know a trick on throttle body systems, you can unplug the throttle body and put a 9 volt battery on the top the throttle body injector prongs and see if it sprays with key on and fuel pump running, if it sprays its not the pump, so that makes the possibility the module in the distributor is bad (or bad injector) the module can fire at the spark plugs but not send a signal to the computer to make it spray fuel at the throttle body injector. i learned that as a kid (mid 20s) back in the 90s i still dont feel old :)
I was born in 80 and my pop warner football coach had that same truck. I thought it was the coolest truck with the Z71 on the side… that’s treasure for sure!

Graydon is just a blink and a sneeze away from being of driving age and by the time the next few projects vehicles get to a reasonable stage it will already be just about time for a vehicle for Graydon to take out on his own. That's just how life goes by. May as well start collecting parts now.
