True, but it was nice, and the proper thing, for his uncle to ask. Shows respect between both parties. That’s how good people treat each other, kinfolk’s or not.
Shawn the good thing about those old trucks is they don’t have all the electronic BS on them. They’re easy to work on, take a lick’n and keep on tick’n. 👍
Things like an over $2,000 bill for what would have been a $10 clutch cable failure is what gets me. They now do things like put a hollowed out hydraulic slave cylinder inside the bell housing surrounding the transmission input shaft so you won't have to manually adjust a clutch however when the slave blows out you loose the clutch which is now soaked in brake fluid making it so you need a $400/$500 clutch pack along with all new hydraulics. Of course you have to remove the entire drive line along with the steering and too much of the suspension turning what use to be a 15/30 minute job into an 8 to 16 hour job. I've seen these things fail every 30 to 50 thousand miles costing you the 100/120 thousand mile clutch in the bargain making it so you can be going through 4 clutches instead of just one costing you around $6,000 to $8,000 for the privilege if you're no longer up to doing the work yourself. Then there are up to 100/200 computers in the new ones on top of all this foolishness. Vehicle designers should be forced to do all the services on their designs afterwards perhaps while being encouraged to do better by someone wielding an Electronic Computer Controlled Cattle Prod. Perhaps they'll do better next time after that. I miss the simplicity of my 1960's Power Wagons. Best!
Agreed and she has raised 2 sons "Paul,Ben" very good and that's says alot too... I know thiers another son and daughter but idk much bout them but I sure she raised them jyst as good too lol
I`m 75 years old and if I lived closer, I`d be asking her out on a date. No foolin, she hot! I`d love to be huggin and a smooching with her., haha, seriously, going out to eat and a movie? is there restaurants open past 5pm in Glendale? or someplace nearby? I`d bet there is no theater within 200 miles of FabRat Ciy Utah. Oh well. Maybe a DVD chaperoned by Paul and Michelle at their place, gotta have her home by 7:30. That would be a lot for a girl that hasn`t been on a date in 20 years, maybe I`m wrong . She may have a guy every night of the week for all i know. One thing for sure, she's the prettiest thing over 65 in all of Utah. Heck maybe all the 4-corner states? (do ya think I buttered her up enough yet?)
Whatever it takes Paul .. look after Sean and Hunter to make sure they stay with you .. they're more of an asset than you know.. theyre humble honest real people.. like you and your family.. and this is the main reason why so many of us watch your channel... of course we we love your builds and rescues etc.. but in a world gone mad its an inspiration to see that there are still people of this calibre living simple unpretentious lives .. like Sean today.. " take pride in what youve got"...and "junkers rock" and you guys doing recoveries in the old "free truck"...awesome!! that's what ruined Matt's channel when he let all his awesome crew leave.. Love from Australia..❤❤
Thanks so much for your reply Michelle... i used to just watch your channel for your cool content... but I've started to realize I appreciate much more in the depth of who you all are...please if you ever get a chance could you bring Randle and Ben back on for a little cameo?? Also.. I know these weren't your crew.. but I would love it if you could do a collab Trevor and Tucker?? and Lizzy?? Love all you guys..❤❤
That Free Truck is paying for itself on these recovery's. That Jeep was stuck in a muddy mess and not easy to get out, but Paul and Hunter got em out! Amazingly Sean took the Free Truck and pulled his Uncle out of the mess he was in. This is an amazing truck and a good asset to the Fab Rats team! Love to see Grandma Lolly!
Its a great truck and Paul really knows what he's doing in mud and snow. No crazy RPMs or wheels spinning....backing off and letting the tires do the work when they grab....Stopping before its too late and maintaining control. Shawn too!
About 30 years ago I bought a ford explorer (1995 302) and it had a trailer hitch on the front and rear..in summertime I launched many a boat mounted to the front and in winter I drag many a vehicle out the a hitch mounted winch on the front….Every vehicle I have owned since then the first thing I do is mount a reenforced trailer hitch to the front…best investment you can have on a truck
The harder the trail gets, the wider Paul's smile gets, look at his face at 3:00, that guy is on another level of fun a guy can have with a 4x4, love your vids Fab Rats, keep 'em comin'!!
I knew a guy in the early 70's that had a 66 1 ton Ford 4x4 with a Detroit in it, long before diesels conversions became popular. I can close my eyes and still hear it scream up main street on a Friday/Saturday night.
You Gotta love the one liners Sean comes up with! “Got my Pepsi, my milk duds, we’re Good to go!” Classic quote, pretty sure I’ve heard my dad say that once or twice.
Man I love watching u I can remember asking u to build me a seat 3 years ago when covid hit I started watching u from small shop still a lines man and now we'll awesome and so happy for u and all ur family ..... uv definitely proved alot of people wrong... glad yas r doing so great.
Nobody but me thinks it's odd to spend months building a "TOW TRUCK" to do recoveries. AND then NOT take it on recoveries. Cause you don't want to get a " work" truck dirty.
Who knew Sean is a recovery and trailer backing natural. I thought it was funny that Jeep went into 4x4 not available right when you need it the most. And I drive a Jeep thank God it doesn't have all those nanny devices on it. Probably from towing from the wheel not allowing it to turn.
If MORR would have gotten the call they would have needed the heavy wrecker, bananna, bombee, digdug, blue steel with trailer, 3 recovery ropes, Ed with the golden nugget, 4 other people, all 3 dogs and 12 victory pies! I'm teasing...I love MORR. Good job guys!
Been watching you from the first video. You have awesome talent in fabbing. Wish I was stateside to come visit. Made my own chopped VW sand buggy about 45 years ago. Amazed at how technology has changed since my day. Keep up the good work pass that talent down the line bro.😁
Dumont sand dunes outside of Baker California is a fun time too and not normally polluted with as many maniacs once you get all of those machines up and running. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Keep it up FabRats
Sean’s uncle comment “I’ll drive I’m not a backer” I know someone like that who will ask me to come to their place to help put their boat in / out of the lake because they hate backing up. Always happy to help. Plus I’m used to backing my kayak on a trailer Great job Sean 👍
I think Sean deserves a medal for the worst square body dash pad! Even though the dash is toast it's a sweet old beater truck and like you said it's yours! Can't wait to see all of you guys ripping the sand rails!
Probably dragging it by the rear wheel like that screwed up the traction control computer, because three wheels were turning and that one wasn't. When the computer sensed all four wheels turning again it let you put it in 4x4. Those cars were not designed for offroad. They were designed to keep inexperienced drivers on the road in rain and snow.
Brings back some stressful memories of when I drove tow truck in the seventies 🤣🤣🤣🤣 If you have to move a trailer like that in the future, just put a shovel under the wheel and it will skid along nicely.
Morning Fab RATS Family!! Once again, you're out saving the neighbors, one vehicle at a time!!! Driving out with no damage (aside from the MUD) is always a bonus!!!👍 Hats off to Grandma Lolly for helping Shawn get his sand rail into the shop. If you want it done, she is the one!!! Way to go Sean! Way to show off your driving skills. Most people can't back a trailer up. You are really a valuable asset to the FabRats ! Keep it up all of you.
This one is for Shawn, I love the 1965 Ford F100. In the early 1980s, I had 3 different 65 Ford F100 trucks. The one in this video looks like the one I want, it's a combination of the three I had. A custom cab, 289 v8. engine and a 4-speed trans with granny gear.
I built this truck when my kids were young over 20 years ago it’s a 1965 body on a 1978 Chevy chassis with a 1992 12 valve with a 5 speed transmission it’s my daily driver
I love your junkers! Them old trucks don’t have the comfort of the new ones but they do work as well as any of the new ones and there full of memories, of their past projects with pops or gramps who’s went on so never complain about them! Just enjoy them and the memories!
9:38 - That is what killed the Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin. His Jeep pinned him against his mailbox. They think he got confused by the electric ebrake just like that. And it rolled and got him.
I know y'all are adverse to Fords, but you should really consider fixing up Shawn's old 4th Gen. Sounds like he has a lot of memories with it and its a rare truck. Put a juiced up 390/428 in it and put it to work!
Great job Hunter snd Paul in getting the vehicle out. Sean, great work on helping get your uncle out of the Pickle he was in. Your backup skills is great. 🤙😎
I love the old vehicles because they are easier to work on and less electronic BS to work around ! Sometimes it's cheaper without electronic crap to replace !

These shows literally keep my faith alive in humanity. Btw… what types of goodies does Grandma Lollie like? Maybe you could mention something on the camera.
Fab Rats Team...the free truck is growing on us, you should definitely keep it and use it...and it would be okay to put a little bit of money into it to make it more better.
18:15 The time-lapse video of the sky here, is the coolest.20:49 What a coincidence, drove a 1965 F-250 to/from High-School, (gave me a vehicle to work on in Auto Shop - Left leaf-spring hanger broken off the frame, folks before me driving it on the street also, tad bit risky). On and on.
I like all the different projects you always have going on in the shop. I like that you don't get stuck on just one thing at a time. I would like to see something that Sean owns or wants to own get built. I'm sure he would have something you guys could make bigger and better. Can't wait to see the green goblin get built A.K.A (the bus). This channel is really the only reason to watch UA-cam at all. Keep up all the good work guys.
'Take pride in what you've got' That's a lovely philosophy Sean!!
True, but it was nice, and the proper thing, for his uncle to ask. Shows respect between both parties. That’s how good people treat each other, kinfolk’s or not.
I would love to get Sean’s old high school truck.
Sean's response to his uncle asking if he should pay is just wholesome
just the way is there in hometown USA
Sean has an old soul. It’s a compliment Sean.
He is very chill. A super nice quality😄
💯 Def a compliment
Sean's come a long way since starting. I'm sure it's not easy getting used to being on camera and filming yourself.
Sean, needs a Raise to his pay!
Shawn came up with your next shirt, "Rock the Junkers!"
We can only hope!!!!!
We can only hope!!!!!
I approve of this message 😅
Still looking for Paul's saying
ITS FINE👍🏼
Shawn did an excellent job on his narrative and content.
Robby said along with your free body work he is going to detail the interior of your truck. What a good friend!!!
You weren’t supposed to tell him! 😅
Shawn the good thing about those old trucks is they don’t have all the electronic BS on them. They’re easy to work on, take a lick’n and keep on tick’n. 👍
No doubt, I just got hosed $1000 to change an fing alternator.
You have got that right!!!!!!
Na, na, na, nailed it!

"Take pride in what you have". Sounds like something Ben Cox would say.

Some mad trailer skills by Sean! Farmer much!
Man the old free chevy just became the new star of the show.
Sean has really become a great youtuber... he is one of my favorites on this channel
Just an FYI for Shawn's uncle. Cross the trailer chains to form a cradle. Then if the trailer comes off the hitch the tongue does not hit the ground.

I'm not a Ford guy, but that old '60s 4x4 is pretty sweet.
building a 60 4x4 dually right now. best of the fridge bodies. imo. his 64/65 4×4 shoetbed is a slick ride and does deserve some love
