To clarify a bit about Kayn to put ppl slightly at ease.
Kayn always shows himself round 1 so no jumpscares and he always returns at 5-4 to end game, which usually most are dead already.
Not only Round 1, but replacing the initial carousel. It’s literally immediate and allows players to fully adapt.

TFT is the only game I usually play with Spotify on in the background because I don't have to focus that much. My favorite game to get stoned to, put on some chill music and just relax. This was the first set I didn't fire up Spotify once while playing, the music was too good!
Aphelios and Alune not sharing traits while being siblings and, even worse, looking basically the same, is so funny to me

I'm so happy that the TFT format allows to experiment with gameplay mechanics from vastly different game genres, and that the team is not afraid of going nuts. Thus far it has always worked and not only that, it became so god that they even tried to implement their discoveries into other gamemodes like giving arena also augments. We have now in pve, pvp, minigames, augments (rogue like elements), rng based shop, gold management, team compositions, enhanced/chosen mechanic, upgrade champions and even music that evolves based on gameplay. I really wish Riot decided to keep trying new stuff and then using what they learn to give incoming projects a new twist and risky improvements (yeah, i'm talking about the rpg). Who knows, even project L (2XKO) could import some of these findings into alternative gamemodes to just 1v1 in the future, that would be fun.
you would need a very good reason to have Alune in League, because remember, she's the one passing the guns to Aphe, so you can't just have her as a separate character at the same time

13:18 If they are reducing both drop chance and price proportionally then the overall cost is gonna be exactly the same. You will just feel less bad because each pull will cost less. Now if they keep the pity at the same place then yes this will cost the players less overall, it just depends on how they implement this.
we know that won't be the case & we'll end up spending more to compensate the reduced chances lol. if they're following league tradition--cosmetics are their money maker

I got two friends back into tft during set ten. One of them was good timing because they made the healthy choice of refusing to download league on computer and didn’t have a smartphone. He explained why he couldn't play tft and I was like 'you know... tablet support exists now' he gave me a look that said don't get me back into this but I noticed him playing it later. And then I stopped playing because I was super terrible at playing around the set mechanic, getting stuck in gold when my previous rank was diamond

aurelion in set 3 had something similar to irelia with that homing attacks
but it was not that smooth as Irelias blades. and i believe rockets not nesecerally target champions, just fly on predermited course around ASol
It may look similar but the tech is actually different. All of Asol’s drones have predetermined trajectory from Asol’s casting position to 1 single enemy the drone is suppose to hit. Irelia’s projectiles have to restart the process based on her attack trigger command (asol’s drones don’t need to return before he cast another time)
may i ask, is the new mythic board able to be purchased on the shop? i really really like that board but i cant spare enough money to do gamba unfortunately

I loved AutoChess when I played DOTA. Generally was my favourite to wake up and get into games. TFT is the same for me, I play it before ranked, after ranked. I can't get mad at TFT. Only "eh, whatever"
so the currency I've been saving through prime capsule are gonna be useless 😂 oh well
i got a very interesting idea. what if we divide the players into classes (race for race war, or religion for holy wars xD). and it will be a tournament where all classes gather points. so if you are class A and get 1 place with ur team gets 10points 2nd get 5 for example. and the class that wins at the end of the tournament gets an exclusive map skin or little legends or something.
It would be really nice if they were able to remake one or two pieces to the new tech. On the one hand, to reduce spaghetti in TFT as much as possible. But also, because maybe that way League can go poach that model and use it to remake that forward.

Tft producers wouldn't ever do that, they only care about the things that sell the most
i dont think its possible because worlds in tft is done every 4 months iirc unlike lol worlds that happens once a year. worlds in tft happens every set which is too fast to make special skins for. you can think of it as creating a separate team solely to create skins everytime, if that makes sense
they not but i believe Milala has unique emote from winning Vegas. so emotes can be, skins not likely. specially if consider how u obtain chibis from gacha
That actually surprised me that so many people liked set 10 because the people i watch didn't seem to like it that much, and i got quite tired of Ezreal 1 shotting my board
because set its not all about Ez. sure he strong, but u have also a lot options to play. and that Ez is not just one comp, it has many variations. for example i hit challenger by not playing hearths at all

I actually only started playing TFT because Dota Underlords stopped receiving updates (and then when they did, I hated the direction it took). I didn't actually like it much at first because as a non-league player, it was really hard to quickly differentiate between units/items. Now I can't imagine going back, TFT has surpassed it in every way.

Also flexibility is one of the weakest aspects of this set and strong comps are very inflexible. I guess the only real flexible comp is Heartsteel cashout into AD carry like Ezreal or Zed.
Yeah I agree, Headliners are still way better than the first iteration of that mechanic (it was called either chosen or fated units, I don’t remember the name). I don’t think this mechanic is good for the game at this scale of implementation, but if it was implemented on a smaller scale I think it could work well. Limit it to 1, 2 or maybe even 3 traits after you already have on of those traits.
@@sspectre8217 That's exactly how Chosen used to work, you could only get a chosen from one family by champion and that was all. It was the best set ever.
The truth of the matter is EVERYTHING we do has haters. Our best mechanic augments, is still hated by around 9% of our audience. Part of making new things is that you push the boundaries and try new things...but there is no silver bullet that 100% of players love.
@@MortdogTFTthat is true. People don’t like innovation or change. It’s just part of the human condition. But I think this sentiment is starting to loosen up in the gaming industry, with the recent shake up. So, at this point we should just go balls to the wall and innovate new things, and see what sticks.
@MortdogTFT I know this is a bit off topic, but what do you think about the reaction of players to both the kayn encounter and to the double up changes. I think they are two different versions of people always wanting to hate. I don't see kayn as a problem, as at 5-4 games are starting to get towards their end anyways. However, I am an avid double up player, and am not a fan of the changes, and it's one of the few changes that I have disagreed with you and the team on. That said, I'd love to know your thoughts, and I appreciate all of your hard work.
I have a question. How do Chibi finishers give you a disadvantage in the game? Is it the time between matches?
They hide your shop while they're playing. It's rarely noticeable, but at times you get some gold after the round and you'd like to buy whatever you have in the shop before the round's over and the shop rerolls itself. Never made me miss a buy, but I do spam click the place where the champ is I want that I want to get because time is tight.
why exactly does finisher put you at a disadvantage
the finisher takes you away from the "game" and into that cut scene, where wilst others without finishers can still make purchases you cannot
@@len.524 THIS ^^^^^^^^^^ ! When you're stuck in this animation with no way to skip it, people are already buying and you've a disadvantage, that's why i've never pulled for a chibi legend with a skin or unique animation, it's way better to have the classic "boom".
There is also a bug where after you get the chibi finisher you can't use the board planner lol

Only seen kayn once on PBE. Played 40 games so far on live server and hadn't seen an single kayn encounter :C
I like that they’re introducing new champs into league using TFT
TFT is just getting better and better.
The problems with these encounter that it outright kill some playstyle.Cho'gath, Bard and Kayne completely kills lose streak and hyper roll. And fast 8/ reroll 7 or streak play style could be effected by other encounter as well.
The reasom why people dislike the choosen one and the headliner mechanic is that is limit their playstyle. This is exactly that but not only limiting, it out right punish you.

His model is ltierally tibber arms and mixed with gnar etc lol. They stitched a bunch of champions together.

So they are going back on what they did in the last set then? honestly makes sense appealing to smaller but more competive base never makes sense. Theres some good autobattlers out, though some with just less. I think the genre itself is very small

kayn appears at the very beginning (instead of the first carousel or portals) and collects you at 5-4, you shouldn't pick cruel pact anyways if you see him at the start xdd

To clarify it's not riot that thought of the idea of puttin little legends in a shop for new currency. Its just the new china rules kn gambling and gacha games. Ask any gacha player.

You're stuck in a cutscene for a few seconds, while other players still have agency in the game.

The real reason Irelia is getting so much attention is because she's a very popular champion in the eastern regions. makes sense to put one of their biggest skin moneymakers in the spotlight during the eastern TFT set.

Nah. I skipped set 10 cause of that mechanic. I don't like it. Same as last time its introduced. Looking forward on this new set.
I have to say, games that rely on cosmetics and gacha will always need to bank on FOMO to make at least some people bite. After all, unless they get that every player pays, say, 3/5 bucks a month on a consistent level, the house of cards just falls.
RNG-Based games like TFT where you really have little control over the grand scheme of things shouldn't be E-Sports. There's more entertainment from games such as League in E-Sports because of things such as outplaying your opponents, not just building a counter team.

No one was sleeping on auto battlers - Riot actually just joined it at the perfect time. I'm an avid Dota2 player as well and enjoyed Autochess when it was just a mod. The fact that it split into a Dota spinoff (Dota Underlords) and the Modder (AutoChess) meant the stable ground we had in Dota2 Arcade mode split in two- as well as the player base choosing Dota Underlords due to familiarity. Underlords eventually stopped receiving love from Valve, and I don't know what became of Autochess from the original developer. It is dead in the arcade last i checked unless someone else tried re-creating it recently. I was originally on the Dota Underlords hype train and went "oh great a league copy go figure" and didn't really give it a second thought. At that point Underlords was getting stale and Autochess was dying. TFT really came in at the perfect time to capitalize on the hype of the game mode, but right when the competitors were S.O.L. Even though I love Dota2 - I am far from loving Valve, as I am with Riot. Riot was able to make it work more because they took a concept that was dying in "smaller" games (underlords etc.) and used their much larger reach to make it known to so many more people. I truly think that's why it succeeded -smart business timing and capitalizing on the size of their influence.
