    George has been my guru for 50years, brilliant, humble, funny, language purist, writer extraordinaire, philosopher and poet. GOAT. Glad I saw him a year before he died! 🇨🇦 the older I get the more I can relate to his brilliant mind. Joe Pesci was his best buddy, and Joe was in the audience, Remember he was always playing gangster type roles, then Home Alone 😂

      I didn’t know that Joe was actually in the audience! That’s really wholesome 😊
      I’m really happy that I’ve found so many great comedians over the years. George Carlin, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Andrew Schulz, Patrice O’Neal, Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, Donald Glover, and many more have helped cheer me up during dark times. I’m only 18 still, so I’m sure many more great comedians will be picked up on my Radar as time flies by.

      I disagree with that quote and I’m not a religious person. People never understood the ‘Real Message’ from the Christ figure or even what he meant to thought humanity when humanity needed it the most and the governing parties of the time took advantage to seize power, control the ignorant and used it as an pretext and excuse for wars… Sad but clever if I might add… If someone doesn’t understand what I meant by that, you or anyone would have to read a chapter from a Seth book chapter titled “the meaning of religion” Circa 1971 from the Psychic author, Jane Roberts, THE most controversial book of All Time. The one with the most money and myself laughing so hard that we sunk into the chair like the Grinch in the cartoon stuck in the chimney. Somehow our feet would get up on the back of the seat in front of us and our head it'd be way down on the back and we'd have to climb out of the folding chair. I drank three pictures of water after the show and still could not get enough. He's one of the smartest most thinking people I have ever witnessed! He is dearly missed in this world and I can't imagine what he would have to say about the last couple years! As of June 25th 22

      @@GrahamChapman I see what you mean, and I agree with you. It is very hard to respect this kind of people. What I meant is that I don't think people are inherently bad, for the most part. I believe that exterior forces, such as religion, make people bad, or at least provide them with the tools to be bad. And I know that almost no one "chooses" a religion, they're just born in one, if that makes any sense, because of their family and location. So, yeah, I always try to avoid attacking people because of their beliefs. I'd rather attack the belief itself.

    • @nullakjg767
      @nullakjg767 2 роки тому

      I find it pretty hard to respect religions people. Just willful ignorance at this point with how available information is. Religion should be looked at like racism/sexism, "wow I cant believe how backwards people used to be" but sadly, we arent quite that evolved as a whole. Its a memetic infection that has plagued humanity for thousands of years. And being a vector for that is not an innocent act. It requires making a series of decisions that are anti intellectual, anti logic, and a willingness to be manipulated. It all stems from a fear of death and the greed that immortality is obtainable if you simply do whatever a non tax paying child abuser in robes says. Even if its things like "vote for people who will repeal human rights for everyone and commit atrocity". How do you look at someone like that and think, "i bet theyre a good person I can get on with!" all I feel is pity/disgust. I cant think well of that stock but I guess they are easy to scam so I believe thats why people put up with them.

    George Carlin did an interview with Jon Stewart, it's available on Carlin's official UA-cam channel, where he briefly touches on his family and the church in a passing joke. The short interview has a few funny comments, but through the entire process you get a much better understanding of just who he was as a comedian and as a person.
    In the early/mid 90's, I had the pleasure of meeting Carlin in Tahoe, where he was doing a small show while a few friends and I where there for a weekend trip, so we stopped in and were crying in laughter by the end.
    The thing is, I've been extremely fortunate in my life meeting several amazing performers like comedians, actors, musicians, etc... over the years (often not in "performance" settings) and the only other performer whose meeting has stayed with me to the same level is Robin Williams, and I think it's probably for the same reason(s).

    What I always say about Christianity (specifically) is : If I do unto others as I would have done to myself , why do I need any other instructions?

    George was a brilliant man who used his comedy to speak about things no one else would, and as far as religion if im not wrong he's stated that he only really has an issue with organized religion

    i think it does come down to humanity and i dont always agree with the way you feel, but I repect you for being honest and making ME think some deep thoughts and making me to the ask the questions about how I feel, not the easy ones but hard ones.I try to see and find the truth from my eyes, as george did, but I know that it is not the only way or one, but as you say is that I will show respect to another point of veiw , Just kill me if I dont agree with that thought . hopefully we all will ask ourselves the questions and come to kinder thoughts or acts for one another.........i will now get off my soapbox and happily think some kind and gentle thoughts as i listen to your reactions and walking down the street

    The problem with most major religions is that they think that part of their religion is to convert other people, which is wrong and you shouldn’t be trying to convince anyone to change their religion just because it’s different from yours

    I was raised Catholic and I spent 6 years in a Catholic school. I stopped believing in the Christian religion, not because of disappointment with the world, not because of the flaws of the Catholic leadership, but because I dived deep into the scripture, history and compared religion. Little by little I went to find discrepancies within the scriptures, changes in Theology based on historic moments like the exile to Babylon and the subsequent inclusion of Zoroastric concepts in their beliefs, etc. The deeper I dived, the more I found morality and theology were copied from somewhere else, accounts of mythology like virgin births, resurrections, killing all the babies with miracle escape to safety, announcement of 3 wise men following a star, all the way to the use of the date December 25th, all existed in myths and religions centuries before the gospels were written.
    Now I can enjoy better George Carlin and his comedy calling out the absurdity of that particular topic.

    George was so adorable with his sophomoric atheism. His lack of epistemological self-awareness was a sight to behold. His mouth wrote a lot of epistemological and moral truth claim checks that his atheistic worldview couldn’t cash. In fact, he had to borrow from the Christian worldview to make any such claims, whether he knew it or not.
