I too have low porosity hair. I put my leave in conditioner in while still in the warm bathroom, straight out of the shower. The cuticles are still open. I then put a shower cap on for about 10 minutes to allow it to absorb. Then if doing a wash and go, I have HOT water ready in a spray bottle and spray each section and then apply the gel. It works.

Hmmmmm I know I may not be any help with trying to recover from our ways with this line but I’m going in for the Magikal Butter, Fairy Godmother Leave In, Fairytale DC and Spellbound Shampoo. I haven’t tried my enchanted oil or Mythikal Brew yet but many love the oil. But if you love a good butter, please pick up a butter. It is so so so good. I absolutely love love love the butter, shampoo, leave in and DC from this line. Don’t forget to let me know what you get.
I've been natural since birth & been on UA-cam trying to find a relatable hair person. Ma'am I think I've finally found my "hair twin" I thought it would never happen. Closest person was Finally Amber. Maybe my curls are a tad looser in the back than yours, but my hair is def dense & has finer strands on the front right (girl the textures & patterns just love it). My Shrinkage have people FOOLED! I never do WNG's (I rock twists & twist outs) but after watching this I may have to try this. Essence of Coils it’s funny you say that because I actually purchased it as a more natural option before I was like I can’t with this all this gel most of them tend to flake or jus not reliable..only thing that I don’t hate right now it’s pretty reliable is the kinky curly custard but I’ll let you know when I get the anabelles and give it a try

You reminded me of how I use to do the front of my hair first because of it being more low porosity than the rest of my hair. I use to do that when I was newly natural. I should start back doing that but I prefer starting from the back.
