The Sekiro moves that I can (kinda) recognize: 0:48 Owl Anti-heal bomb 0:53 Senpou Temple Dual Glaive Monk spin attack 0:55 Owl Shadowrush 1:18 (2 attacks before the final spear thrust) It looks like the spear-butt attack of Shinobi Hunter 1:31 Lady Butterfly's string-jump-into-a-downward-kick attack 3:11 It kinda looks like Genichiro's lunging thrust attack (the attack he uses to punish you for healing) Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I've never actually played Elden Ring myself, only watched clips and videos like Ongbal's over here. Amazing fight, Ongbal!
The fact that I can instantly recognise Owl's moveset speaks fucking volumes on how incredible From's animation work is. There's so much character that is injected in every move that even though I haven't played Sekiro for years, I recognise the animations like a baby recognises a mother's face.
For real! I was almost like “Father…?” Given Elden Ring’s mechanics, this boss looks absolutely insane to fight. This would have been hard even if I could fight it as Wolf
@@vazazell5967 I suppose that's true to an extent, but I've only played around 120 hours of the game. Sure that's a decent amount, more than your average player I'm sure, but I've also played 300 hours of the Witcher 3 and would never be able to recognise their animations because they're so stiff and unexpressive. I don't think playtime is enough to explain why I recognise Owl's attacks so quickly, because I've spent orders of magnitude more time in other games and don't recognise their assets outside of their original context.
@@vazazell5967 I dont believe you cant actually recognize them if you actually beat the game, including Owl Father (unless you did some heavy cheesing, maybe) You literally cant legit beat any endgame boss unless their moveset is deeply inprinted in your brain.

Ngl I was kinda expecting the bear form to be either the full fight or phase 2 based on the thumbnail. Instead we got a new version of a boss that the Convergence team already did in the past. It's still a well made boss and boss arena. I love the butterfly than turns into an explosion.
I can see this boss took some designs from Great Shinobi Owl. He can Shadowrush, slowly drop an exploding butterfly just like how Owl drops an anti-healing ball, and summons a spirit animal to attack just like Owl father and his flaming spirit owl.
Excellent quality as always Ongbal, keep it up This druid boss is insanely cool, I want to play something like this in my next D&D campaign, druid/monk multi class
The Druid in DS3 Convergence was already one hell of a fight but seeing the devs take the idea and cranked it up using more of the animals from Elden Ring and refining the moveset is pretty cool.
1:31 these jumping-up-high animations are very consistent with the Ancestor Spirit boss from the vanilla game (it does the same thing and belongs to the same group/biome/wtv ). Mod authors are in tune with the Froms.
Dawg I watched it thinking its a mod. But then it was so good that I thought im spoilering the DLC to myself. Then I read the description and calmed down.God damn whoever made this mod did a damn good job lmao
With full respect towards from software… It’s insane how modders can create better bosses than their originals in vanilla-game. I hope they have a future in game design.
WOW! I've seen very little convergence mod, just the start classes and a few new spells. But this boss, moveset, and arena looks incredible. And reminds me of Owl when he drops that lil magic bomb as he hops backwards. edit: ok I see other commenters saying Owl too. Yea a lil inspiration from Owl, but this boss has its own style, originality too, definitely not just an Owl re-skin.
It could just be me but do the regal ancestor people feel underutilized in the base game? Like they have a very unique culture but we’ve got very little in game lore on them
as someone that only ever played sekiro, does ongbal use a somewhat optimal weapon for each fight or is it more like random weapon which kind of fits the variety and doesn't totally suck?
@@VaultSeeker considering they posted information about custom animating bosses to make custom moves on their discord with one of the animation frames being the exact same as this one, it's almost as if it's reasonable to think it's custom animated.
The Senpou Spear Adept and Owl moveset flows so beautifully in this fight, reminds me a lot of the Morgott fight.
they used a few of morgott's moves as well which is nice.

No, it speaks volumes on how much you've played sekiro. I don't recognize a single sekiro moveset ever.

I remember seeing a similar druid in the dark souls 3 convergence mod good to see his return.
Those 2 last bossfights you showed are really impressive. No over the top eyecancer effects, just nicely paced and flowing.

this boss design is phenomenal. i hope SotE brings it this hard. amazing work, creators! and gorgeous fight as always, ongbal.
Convergence team doing the most
Thank you for playing the mod, Ongbal!
Caimar was also one of the customized bosses from the previous Convergence Mod for Dark Souls 3.
I love his vibe and aesthetic. Such a dope concept. The underground areas wouldve been the perfect place to put a Druid
