The cool thing about being a Bulls fan is that I feel nothing now
insane to think without jordan they would simpliy be the worst franchise ever
you got the 90s
@@myleslondon5220they really would be worse than the Kings historically, man
So, first our owner decided it was more important to prove the importance of the front office than to keep winning championships, so we became the only organization in pro sports to date to actively punt on a dynasty.
Second, we traded up in the draft and passed on the opportunity for two potential solid NBAers so that we could grab Doug McDermott in the 2014 (?) draft. (I wanted Rodney Hood, Gary Harris, Jusuf Nurkic, and Doug McDermott, in that order; I thought we'd be able to get 2 of 4; I'd've been happy with the bottom 2 over the top 1. But we traded to get the worst guy... both in my draft ranking, and history has proven me 100% correct on that.)
Finally, we traded Wendell Carter for Vucevic. When I heard about the deal, I talked myself into it; I thought Carter was a better player, an easier player to fit onto a winning team, BUT at least Vuc wasn't just a post scorer, he was also a nice passer, so there was an offensive element there that might allow for him to co-exist with other scorers. THEN I heard picks were involved... I was confused. Did Orlando have a MIL or PHX pick that they threw in? If so, good for us, but I don't think I'd make that trade were I ORL. But why would CHI throw in a pick? THEN I heard it was TWO picks! Both UNPROTECTED 1sts! I lost my FUCKING MIND.
And that, my friend, is why I'm a *former* Bulls fan.
100% feel you
A 1 for 1 trade in 2024 is absolutely insane
Not even mid-level exception guys get traded 1 for 1 anymore!
For a Caruso who probably could have been moved for 2 first rounders at the deadline and from OKC who has an excessive amount of first round picks
0.7 : 1
I'm happy for Caruso. He finally gets to play some meaningful basketball again on an actual contender.
they're being really cool to all us people that like the thunder but don't like giddey
Getting to like the thunder without the moral implications is a plus
It really is great
I mean dude we get a vet that can play Defense. That’s doesn’t have allegations…
Every night, that man was a threat to score under 16.
Bro this is only a plus, I'm so excited to see what this does for our defense
The Chicago Bulls are an offshore shell company for other teams
Development team
Upgraded g league team
Players only meeting.. after the first game… after losing to the OKC Thunder lmao
lol
I’ve never been so mad about a trade that didn’t include my team. It’s like they listened to all the offers for Caruso, panicked, and then just gave up.
Or they just really like Giddey.
Most contenders would just offer picks in 2030. Giddey and Coby White is not a terrible backcourt.
@@michaelahurt the Bulls can like Giddey as much as they want, it's just he has obvious flaws and needs a competent structure to help him reach his potential. I'm not saying Bulls can't do that, just that I'd trust 27 other teams more than I trust this organization. Also Giddey and White both need the ball, it's not impossible they work together but it's not an obvious fit either.
@@michaelahurtyou could do better in what you give up for Alex Caruso, they were offered better, it doesn't matter if it's "not terrible" if "not terrible" is all the bulls have been for years, I doubt Giddey and White will actually improve together to a point where this will seem worthwhile in the long run, especially when the bulls don't seem aware of the long run
@@codylaighton9023 My first reaction was that’s a good fit. You need two guys. You can’t have just one primary ball handler. And I like White off ball. Plus Giddey forces the opponent’s smallest player onto White which automatically makes Coby better
But I agree about not trusting Chicago’s FO. Although the DeRozan, Caruso and Lonzo acquisitions deserve credit.
@@ZayWilson-v8l Were they offered better? What two late firsts in 2030? The 8th pick in a bad draft? It’s not like Atlanta offered the #1 pick and Dejounte Murray for Caruso
I get it, people are down on Giddey, but he’s going to be way better playing his natural position. But they definitely do still need a star.
Of course Atlanta getting the #1 pick with 36 wins and Detroit picking fifth every year with the worst record probably isn’t going to incentivize them to go in the toilet
And this the kind of draft where the best player could easily go at #11
Longtime Bulls fan here. I have been beaten and ravished by the organization. Regardless if this is the beginning of the rebuild, I have absolutely no faith in this front office or ownership to actually be competent in rebuilding.
I have seen poor decision after poor decision. Trading Jimmy, tossing Thibs, the three alpha lineup with Hoiberg, the clown Jim Boylen, and now the absolutely mediocre AKME. Can't wait to toss Lavine, Vooch, and DeMar for nothing and rebuild with no good picks or hope.
The Bulls will never ever be competent until Jerry Reinsdorf sells the team (he won't). The team will be passed onto his son and the cycle will continue. Reinsdorf as a stranglehold over 2 of Chicago's sport teams and the fans can do nothing but accept utter mediocrity
Yeah but he used to have Michael Jordan!!
you guys were a dynasty in the 90s under jerry
Almost 30 years of mediocrity since then isn't reassuring @@alexanderguerrero347
No, clearly the move is to keep those three for literally the rest of time even though it's been proven it doesn't work, trade Caruso, Coby, and Ayo, and stake everything on Lonzo being a mythical god like basketball super-being when/if he ever returns from the hyperbolic time chamber. Or wherever the fuck he's been.
@@alexanderguerrero347
And the last 30 years have shown that he essentially won the fuckin lottery with Michael Jordan.
not Kofie singling out Australia's best players as 'the worst archetype in basketball' lmao
This is a staple of Jerry Reinsdorf teams. He wants to be in the middle of the pack. He wants the team to be close but not close enough. He wants the team to be good enough to still pack the seats at the United Center. That's all he cares about at the end of the day. I'm sorry to those that are both Bulls and White Sox fans.
Spend just enough money to earn more money back, in a business man’s eyes competing to win is just unnecessary extra cost for less profit, especially in these days with the new CBA. Captialism is a b***h
Being a bulls fan is nothing but misery
Misery business
Wait until they trade Lavine and Derozan for 2 total FRPs 😂
I feel good for Ernie Johnson. One of his sons just got traded to a much better team!
Kofie I can't keep doing this with this team man
I miss derrick and jimmy
And Joakim and Taj and Kirk and Luol 😢
Now I can root for the Thunder in the playoffs without feeling mixed about it.
SGA & Caruso in OKC is scary !
But Giddey and R. Kelly in Chicago? Even scarier!
The bulls front office either offered this to Sam Presti OR agreed to this deal FROM Sam Presit. And I don’t know which is worse.
that's the damnable misery of this fandom
i just can’t do this anymore as a bulls fan
As a Bulls fan the worst thing to happen for this team wss the invention of the play-in.
This team should have been torn apart like 3 different times but Reinsdorf gets his playoff atmosphere and we get May basketball on Madison so they have no desire to start from square 1.
I'm tired of being a 9 or 10 seed, losing immediately, and picking 7-13. At some point they need to rip the band aid off, suck for a bit, and stockpile top 5 picks
One forgotten player from the mid 2010s fits that archetype perfectly, and yeah he bounced out of the league real quick. Kendall Marshall
now there are rumors about a zach lavine trade to the jazz or philly...
Presti, Morey, and Ainge running a train on AK...
Honestly, a Lavine trade is a dub... provided they dont try building an all-guard lineup
As a bulls fan this is my 13 reason
At this point, it's really time to investigate the front office. & Is it possible to force an owner to sell a team?
I wonder if Giddey will improve, he doesn't have the physical tools or defensive prowess that Simmons did, but Simmons refused to work on his game, and Giddey could.
He's already gotten a lot better. Simply being able to play PG will make him 10 times better.
He actually causes some interesting matchup problems because he can bully smaller guards. Chicago should just over index on size
@@michaelahurt thats a good point, but hes gonna be sharing the playmaking with Derozan and/or Lavine even if one of them leaves
@@camiloalves55 At this point we should assume LaVine is gone. Agree that the DeRozan/Giddey fit is odd but you can't base your team building around a 34 year old.
But I do think they are too stubborn to trade DeRozan which defeats the point of trading for Giddey. He's the kind of guy you have to go all in on to give it a real shot.
Unfortunately a guy who makes a ton of sense with Giddey, Lauri Markkanen, was traded by Chicago for Derrick Jones Jr
@@michaelahurt damn, you're right, markkanen would have a been a great fit.
Maybe Coby White can coexist with Giddey a bit better but yeah i don't see them trading derozan and i can't even imagine what teams would give for him at this point.
Vucevic might be interesting though if he can provide some spacing, but they will be dog shit on defence.
@@camiloalves55 Probably not a lot for DeRozan since it would be a sign and trade. Maybe nothing cause idk how many good teams could even do a sign-and-trade trade
I don't really trust Chicago's FO to have a plan but maybe they bring DeRozan back and see what it looks like then trade him at the deadline to get something for him
I think you can do _something_ with Giddey. I like the idea of using him like Sabonis or Jokic and just having guys whirring around him. But I'm not really sure exactly what it looks like.
Cam Whitmore is someone I might call Houston about. That seems intriguing. Seems crazy to trade him for DeRozan but who knows.
But agree Vuc is interesting and they are probably going to be horrendous on defense. But I think if you have two big wings with two big guards you can kind of stay afloat just by being very large even if none of them are great defenders individually
We all know that's not Woj is saying, it's what his source wants him to say. He keeps his sources happy and he keeps getting scoops. That's why his articles back at Yahoo were always either hit pieces or fluffing people up
As a Thunder fan I don't understand why people try to make deals with that dude lmao D1 finesser
Being a Bulls fan is fun because you try to explain the misery to a non-Bulls fan friend and just sound like a crazy person

Giddey averaged 19 / 7 / 6 without shai this season.
I know its really easy to hate on giddey but it was obvious watching most of the season that giddey was out of postion and crowded out on the offence.
There's a lot of hate toward Josh Giddey but I think he's a lot more valuable than what people think.
That may be ture but the bulls have like 7 guards. Coby White just put up career numbers as the pg. And giddey NEEDS the ball in his hands to play well offensively. What are they gonna put White back at sg and tell giddey to do his thing? Wack
@@MuttonErase Yes. Coby is a combo guard. You aren't going to run a top 10 offense through him alone. You want to maximize him by using him both on and off ball and allowing him to attack closeouts. Similar to Derrick White.
They have Giddey and White with Ayo off the bench and Carter as a fourth guard. That's not too many guards. Caruso is obviously gone and LaVine won't be back.
@@michaelahurtLMFAO NO. They are not going to put DeRozan at the 3 especially if they pay him a max this year (yuck) just to accommodate Giddy 💀💀💀 no fucking shot he is immediately starting.

Too bad neither of them has MJ anymore.
That’s the pistons 😂 they legit lost 28 in a row
Having the same owner does that
@@anthonyarellano8629and people wanna clown the pistons for firing Monty Williams, they made the right decision!!!

OKC not making the Caruso trade eaelier kinda makes sense, as young team with the one seed your fans aren't too antsy. You have time, the prices on a Giddey replacement were too high so you might as well play this one out and see if something comes up later. I know they have lots of picks but everyone seems to think they need to fire them off as soon as possible. Listening to some of the packages the Bulls turned down, Caruso wasn't available at the deadline for a reasonable price. As far as minimizing risk and still upgrading the team, OKC did basically perfectly.
It's really funny looking at this Chicago roster, and the teams that they got their current players from. And all of those teams are in a better spot while Bulls try to keep this patchwork going.
Wolves have gone through full rebuild into a contender and KAT is the only guy left. Magic is a very young playoff team and growing. Spurs aren't good yet but they only blew it up recently and has Wemby.
The bulls got the wrong guy from the Nuggets front office thats for sure.
Ohhh this the dude that keeps popping up in my twitter feed 😂
Sam Presti stay robbing these other teams in BROAD DAYLIGHT
I feel bad for Kenny, too.
From one Pistons fan to another, Kofie, I'm so over being bad. I was fine with the Pistons in 8-seed Purgatory. I'll take mid. This is a nightmare.
“Stay away from Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge bc they’ll fleece you” is excellent advise for the Bulls
I generally despise the "Kevin O'Connor asset brain" approach that if you're not a top 4 team you're better off being in the lottery, but in Chicago's case... it feels like they've been mid for a solid decade+.
Every time we show glimmers of hope that we could rise above the mid status the basketball gods obliterate one of our point guards legs to smack us back down and humble us once more.
@@crimsonking440 yeah but there really hasn't been a squad that, even if healthy, was a top 5 team in the east. you have to go back to DRose era to find a team w that kind of expectation.
Love your channel, Kofie. Nothin but bangers
Thank You!Chicago!THUNDER FAN
As a Lions fan of over a decade I can comfortably say that tanking is pragmatic (as long as your FO knows what they are doing)
Ngl its completely different in basketball
Why are yall surprised? Wat has this organization done in the last 10-15 seasons that make u think they’re smarter than this?
Caruso is on his last year of his contract that is why there were no picks involved. If this was last year the Bulls would have gotten picks, the Bulls held on too long with their players.
Reminds me of the Brian Burns to the Giants where the Giants offered a good selection of picks, but the Panthers still didn’t budge and settled for less picks than what was offered originally by the Giants.
Took the words right out of my mouth with the archetype of player giddey is. If you’re a below average scorer and your main skill requires you to control the ball then you’re counterproductive to good offense, it’s really that simple. The fact that the thunder were so successful even with giddey starting is a testament to how good their team is otherwise.
Let’s be real, had Giddey not had a down year he’d be more valuable than Haliburton was when he was traded, and Giddey would be worth more than the Bulls entire roster plus their #11 pick. Also Caruso is 30 and a defensive specialist. So I don’t understand why people feel Bulls should’ve gotten more. Even if Bulls did get a pick or two in this trade, late first and second rounders won’t move the needle much, especially in the hands of the Bulls front office who couldn’t draft worth a lick.
Jerry Reinsdorf is a miserable owner that got lucky to have Michael Jordan and Jerry Krause. Bro cares way more about the White Sox, and they're awful too!
1:10 that meeting came after the thunder beat them on opening night😂
This is a win-win! OKC wins by dumping this boat anchor from the offense, and Caruso wins by joining an up-and-coming contender. Plus the Bulls win by... hang on... no, that's it, actually. Those are the winners.
I'd still argue that OKC was just a bad fit for Giddey. They tried to make him an off-ball shooter which just doesn't work. Caruso fits that role better. Giddey I thought was good his first two seasons. With the ball more maybe he does better than expected?
He was but he's a triple double machine, I don't think people understand how much potential he has
He'll be way better in Chicago. A big part of his value is he's a 6'8" PG. OKC played him off ball at PF. Of course it didn't work.
But if he has the ball and you try to play off him he's such a brilliant playmaker he'll find a way to make you pay for that. You also have to put a bigger body on him which creates an easier matchup elsewhere.
Although I don't completely get the Caruso addition since OKC is already playing guards at SF just to get them on the floor. Yeah Caruso is a better shooter than Giddey but getting even smaller ... I'm not sure I quite see the logic in that when your biggest weakness was size and rebounding
@@michaelahurtHe is FOR SURE not starting over Coby, and you would get more out of Ayo off the bench simply bc he actually knows this team AND he can do off ball. Josh is not gonna get the playing time yall expect to for him to actually make this jump yall are predicting. Not only that but you still got DeRozan and maybe LaVine. I’m not buying the bullshit you defenders are selling man 💀💀
@@silversoulken LaVine will be traded. DeRozan is a forward. Giddey and Coby will 99% be the starting guards
He doesn’t need to start over Coby. You start two guards. White is one, Josh is the other.

I would have given way more for Caruso. The only way this makes sense for the Bulls is if Caruso has some big injury issue we don’t know about.
Im the same age as the Bull's title drought. I'm 26. But yeah, Josh Giddey will fix this!
I love your jacket, it shouts listen to me....Giggity! 😁
The first hint at who actually won will be in July. Giddey is central to the Boomers in the Australian team at the Olympics. How he performs will greatly determine team performance so whether or not he is still on an upward trajectory or remains a ben simmons-type will become more clear.
He was left in, along with a set of ancient vets at the cost of some even younger talent I was hoping to see at that level (Sam Froling, Alex Ducas, Johnny Furphy)
Kofie should be getting ready for vacation and he's working 2OT in getting these breaking videos out.

Truly remarkable that the Bulls went from having arguably the league's greatest dynastic run...to this.

"apathy is worse than death"
We need some kind of saying about how you can't eat potential.
Delighted for Caruso.

The Bulls getting no picks is highway robbery. Not even second round picks lol
Giddey is one of 5 players ever to average 15 6 and 6 at 21… Lonzo, Lebron, and Luka are 3 of em, I forgot the 4th.
The fact that you trade with the Thunder and a pick is not the goal, is crazy. Why not go for Cason Wallace and a first round pick, especially with Caruso being so valuable right now.
Shoutout to my man Josh Giddey. What’s up baby? I see you. I know what you do out there with the Liberty Swingers.
It’s all Reinsdorph’s fault. He is driving the Bulls and the White Sox into oblivion
I feel like everyone is overreacting to this trade because they dont like giddy shoulda got a late 1st or 2nd for Caruso but not that big of a deal
The Bulls are fascinating - they’re an anti-modern NBA team. Can’t hit 3s, can’t defend the rim and their best players are elite mid-range threats. And now they have a playmaker who can’t shoot and traded away a player in the same archetype as NBA champions Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. So weird!
40% from 3 is pretty good 👍🏽
Being bad is better than being mid unless you’re the Heat
It will be infuriating to see okc get a first round pick for Alex Caruso at the deadline
What’s next Zach LaVine for Bradley Beal
Bulls fan here. You have to give Karnisovas credit for luring Caruso away from the Lakers when no one else cared. The Lakers didn't even know what they had and let Caruso walk even though he would have stayed there for less money. And then bam he becomes one of the best contracts in the NBA. He's elite, a +/- monster, and an absolute joy to watch. I don't mind picking up Giddey and taking a gamble on a 21 year old that has some physical gifts. The Bulls have a lot of faith in their player development led by Peter Patton, who has gotten Ayo, Caruso, and some others to improve their shooting. But still, trading an elite all-defense guy who can close games for a young prospect is straight up stupid no matter what your plan is. This is a bad trade. To not even get picks shows this guy has no idea what he's doing.
It's hard to know how much is Karnisovas's fault vs Reinsdorf, who just might be the worst owner in the NBA. I desperately hope he gets MeToo'd and has to sell the team. He's an old, rich guy, surely he's done some bad stuff? The terrible thing is Reinsdorf WANTS the Bulls to be mid, so he gets extra ticket money from play-in games and just to dangle that carrot for the fans. The Bulls are one of the best teams for attendance (I believe they were 1st or 2nd this last few years). They have no incentive to change what they're doing. It's bleak fellas.
Just want to be on record that the Bulls may come away from this trade not looking too bad.
I would 100% rather be a bottom five team than mid if I don't have a chance to compete I would blow the team up the bulls should've traded Caruso halfway through the season when they could've got 2 first rounders apparently that's goofy
Please do a video on the wizards. They just hired Troy Weaver and I couldn’t be more pissed as a wizards fan.
I feel like ownership doesn’t really care about success. Because Chicago is such a die hard basketball city, they sell out even if their team is barely scraping into the play-in. They are content in being mid as long as it’s a plus financially I guess. As a d rose fan it hurts to see such a successful basketball city deal with this
Hey Kofie, do a video about the Cavs situation
Is it a coincidence that the team that keeps getting fooled by magic beans has a cow for a logo?
The owner wants them to be mid he has no incentive to win and that stadium is always packed
Good trade for the Thunder
I think pass only guys are ok from the bench tbh you can play around with who you put next to them
We might be mid but at least we aren't paying multiple coaches to sit at home 😅
Your start of the video, as a Pacers fan… YES, YES, YES.
WE HAVENT HAD A TOP 5 PICK SINCE 19 FUCKING 86.
WE ARE STILL THE ONLY FRANCHISE TO NEVER EVER HAVE THE FIRST OVERALL PICK. IT SUCKS.
Caruso is a 30 year role player who averaged more 10 points a game Giddey is 9 years younger I’m not a fan of his game but they say he’s a point guard and the Bulls desperately need a PG. nobody losing any sleep because Caruso is gone. He actually fits better with a team ready to win because of his defense and toughness!
Hey they traded one WD for another WD.
"I feel bad for Bulls fans because there is a new generation of Bulls fans that have not seen a championship"
Listening to that as a Knicks fan...
Not making the play in next year, thats what.
i disagree that the thunder team was best suited for him. while giddey isn't a good player, having another ball dominant guard who himself isn't a three point threat isn't curated to his needs imo
fire cookout shirt
yeah no picks is insane.
I swear, I don’t know how much longer I can care about the bulls. Since around 2016 it has been painful to try and get excited
Why do people keep saying that Alex Caruso is an average or slightly above-average shooter when he shot 40% last year on nearly 5 attempts. I think he is a career 38% average or something really close to that. He is an excellent shooter. This is the second person I've watched since the trade who's said that he's not a great shooter.😊
Its weird to me that anyone would get on the Bulls for this. They obviously want a team as bad as possible. They didn't get picks, but Caruso always plays hard, always tries, and is likely worth 8-11 wins on that team. That's about four lottery spaces. If nobody else would give anything for him you obviously trade him wherever you make your team worse. That's what tanking is. Look at the team that just won the finals - they had two #3 picks anchoring it and both came from the sixers losing a ton of games.
I don't understand people not liking this deal. The Bulls need to get as bad as possible. Trading a good player for a bad player is good when you want to lose. You can't release Caruso with the waiver rules, so trading him for someone significantly worse is the only good play.
The Bulls and Josh Giddey won’t have to be worried about being shut down in the playoffs if they don’t make it in the first place
They don't know what they are doing, g. 1 for 1 trade WITH NO PICKS in 2024 is CRAZY AS FUCK. But now I'm an OKC fan.
If it makes you feel better Giddey would probably be a top 3 pick in this year's draft.
If they got the 9th pick for Caruso and took Dalton Knecht -- who is older than Giddey -- would that actually be better?
