Chandler Hutchinson (Retired), Justin Lewis (Where tf is he at, haven’t heard of him since he got drafted), fucking Paul Zipser and Cristiano Felicio 💀 That’s not even considering how many drafts that we straight up refused to pick the right guy, Bulls fans are so upset about him being a PDF file that literally isn’t one, that they refuse to realize that’s our best young guy since Lauri and Coby. That sounds fucked up but that’s what it’s been, Dalen ain’t where Giddey is now, and Josh regressed. We’re in Pistons-esque hell right now but still people aren’t recognizing how we got it compared to how it’s been.
So let me get this straight.. We traded our Highest Valued player to a team with the most available draft compensation , while we covet draft compensation and we get NO DRAFT COMPENSATION??? Really ?!?!?!?! 🤦🏽♂️

Caruso is injury prone, but he’s a literal perfect fit for what they need at that position. Bulls need to rebuild, Giddey is possibly the best they’d ever get in return without gambling through the draft.

The fact that AK & Marc Eversley seriously said over & over again that they wouldn't trade Alex Caruso for anything less than 2 1st-round picks & then they receive no picks in return that's what hurts the most in this trade. The only good thing about this trade is that it probably just set the Bulls up to definitely keep their Top-10 protected pick in the NBA Draft in 2025.
This trade doesn't make sense to me on its own. Makes me think other moves will be made.

Everybody keep saying Giddey is 21 yrs old are acting like age is a skill set. James Wiseman is 21-22 are teams killing themselves to trade for him.
We are going to miss the defensive hustle and grit of Alex Caruso. However, with Josh Giddey, we get 9 years younger, 3 inches taller, not that bad of a defensive player, and a little better of an offensive player overall. Giddey will be better in Chicago than he was in OKC because there is no more SGA. Plus, remember, at 30 years old, Caruso was starting to accumulate a few injuries as well.

This may go down to being one of the best deals the Bulls could get for the talent. Yes, he's not a great defender but he is still young at 21 and 6'8 and has a good bb iq. This will definitely keep the Bulls offense moving and if Zo returns, this Bulls team will be scary from the ball movement aspect. And Giddey is only making $8 million next year.

Hate to see Caruso move on but the trade was long overdue for the Bulls to make. The team had reached its ceiling and the ceiling was so low a 4 ft midget would scrape his head on it. Although AK could've asked for a 2025 draft pick along with Giddey and got it, this reminds me of the OKC/Clippers trade when OKC traded Paul George for SGA. At face value, it seemed like the Clippers had the better deal, but it soon turned out PG13 couldn't stay on the court, and SGA rose to All Star status.
Now that Giddey will be in a bigger market, maybe the misinformation about his story will stop.
Also, honestly, we could use Vuc in OKC too.

Simmons also made 3rd team all-nba and and 1st team all defense in his 3rd season, Giddey has accomplished literally nothing in the NBA. Giddey is D+ version of what Simmons was at the same point in his career, but they both got played off the floor in the 2nd round for the same reason - because they're non-shooters who play below the rim. Also similar in that their teammates obviously did not trust or want to pass to them in the playoffs and the coaches and every player on both teams knew it.

The bottom line is Simmons just grew disinterested in playing basketball after he got paid. I’d bank on Giddey getting better and eventually averaging 10 assists.

This trade is such a miss, saying we got a young guy who can develop and has potential. Different archetype but we have that in Williams. Giddey plays worse defense, can't shoot 3s, and we have to pay him next year. We needed draft compensation in some form.

I always been high on coby from day 1 bc the way he played reminded of D Rose type and definitely always been high on Ayo bc hes a dog and beast on the defense and good scorer hes gonna be eventually one of the best 2 way players in the game

And if 2 or 3 more years with Demar, He's retiring or would be ok with a far less roll. To me he wants to end his career with the Bulls. I like that. I like it honestly. I mean we all love Caruso and that’s never understated but people must really forget how injured we always have him playing. Even this year he wasn’t healthy despite paying 65 games. Damn near half his games he played hurt and not like a sprained ankle but like actually the man back is getting tore up to the point he’s icing it 24/7 on the bench.
I know most all of us weren’t expecting giddey but like yall pointed out he’s young af. On top of that the trade ultimately points to the thing fans have been so loud about this offseason which was to break this shit up. Now with Caruso gone it pretty much guarantees Zach gone and most likely demar too. Also eliminated the theory that bills fans were crying about with no evidence about Devin Carter getting a promise from us.

Probably would be more suited at the three I don’t want him guarding Malik Monk or Fox. Can’t guard Caldwell-Pope or Murray. Can’t guard Lilliard or Beasley. I guess we will see where he fits in but is he really a better fit at the two than Ayo who guards very well and had a very good offensive season.
If Giddey was in this draft....he would be the #1 pick. not #3 or top 5. Giddey will have make the bulls better instantly if he is given the keys as the PG.

That's ISO game doesn't work. I hate to see Caruso go though and for so little. But down the road, this may be seen as a steal for the Bulls.

I’m salty we didn’t get any picks. We coulda atleast got some 2nd rounders. AK must hate 2nds he coulda got some for Drummond at the deadline too. But anyways I think Giddey would be better suited as the 6th man of this team. Manu type. Starting Coby & Ayo together until proven otherwise should still be the goal.

Good trade! They drafted giddeybwhen they started rebuilding he was like 19 and talented enough to be in NBA. He just needs change of scenery and I’m sure he’ll be like a 12/5reb/6assist player. And if he gets points to 16 then he’s a solid 3rd option
I don't think the Bulls have any faith in White and Ayo leading the team. Why else would they make this move. This is a similar move when they brought in Zo. You wouldn't need Josh if they had faith in those 2 leading the way. Chicago has no faith in those 2 as the building blocks. I think they will give more lead way to build around Josh than those 2. Josh style is similar to Zo not Ayo or White. Neither one of them replaced Zo and the Bulls organization knows that. Where did all the talk go of White being the PG of the future after his close to most improve? If they play Josh at PG, I don't think it will work with Coby even as a SG. The back court defense will get burned. I don't think this combination will work which brings me to this....

Giddey can get much better numbers than that if he actually gets the usage. You'll be pleasantly surprised I think.

I watched his dad play and have watched josh come through the ranks and this is a great trade, especially for me as a Aussie, I sent Josh a dm in March when he was playing really well asking him to please consider the bulls if anything happens and BAM. im very happy that we have picked a direction.
Caruso is a drastically better defensive player than ayo. From his stance to his ability to shed any and all screens. His quick hands. His ability to read passing lanes and he actually takes charges, ayo almost never does. Ayo is very good at guarding trae young due to the fact that his cross overs go no where and his long arms contest his pull up 3s effectively and he diesnt bite on simple moves like caruso did at times.
Ayo is a good defender, but i just had to point out Caruso was built different. Ayo played as much as caruso and ge didnt nake an all defensive team.
