- See the inner workings of the Galaxy S8 with this transparent mod!
Its time to customise my first android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S8 which I previously restored a few weeks ago.
The phone remains fully function after these mods were done, and the end result is amazing!

Best phone repair/modification channel in UA-cam. Keep up the good work bro!
BJproductions what about JerryRigEverything
@@hench_wrench_repairs he doesn't repair as such, he mostly does teardowns and scratch/bend tests
1:54 I thought u will say "glass is glass and glass can break" like Zack lol
Jerry*
his name is Zack, not Jerry as a lot of people think
Yep, his original channel name was Zack's JerryRigEverything
Right 🤣🤣
@@crystaljoy4226 dumb idiot
Love that you are expanding beyond Apple! Love your videos!
Only reason why I'm here
HughRigEverything
Awesome video btw! Your videos really inspire me to do repairs on iPhones too!
Stolen comment
@@TechThatYT Why thank you
Now it is not a Unique phone
@FortNutclips Oh jazeker xD
@Han Aral they're both good UA-camrs in my opinion
1:54 "Glass is glass, and glass can break" -Hugh and Zack
Is this becoming JerryRigEverything?
Very funny
If anything he’s better since he doesn’t have to take stupid pot shots at Apple in every video.
Andrew Szabo well, maybe apple should make their camera glass out of sapphire for real instead of calling it sapphire and using glass...
@@titans1127 they're funny tho
sid they’re not lying, but they’re not telling the full truth either.
nice finally a humble person who does not own a company that people can relate to and actually has a good channel
Hugh, you are the best! Especially after you restored that poor iPhone 4 that was completely destroyed.
4:18 the sheer happiness on your face that you didn't break the wireless charger connector is just great lol
always love these clear phones, great video hugh!
tana mongoose
Im so glad you decided to keep it!
1:55
Glass is glass and glass...
Zack is Hugh confirmed.
If you want to let it look even cooler, paint the back cover with a really thin coat of paint, it's still clear, but it will not crack so easily when you drop it. Did it with a s9 and it really looks like an old gameboy now
Any tutorials? I wanted liked a red version of that.
@@hectorruiz5119 Nope. Did it with a thin layer of Airbrush Paint
I can't believe how many jerryrigeverything references I find in Hugh's videos🤣🤣🤣
Nice video, Hugh! It was very entertaining. Thank you..
Yesss a New video from Hugh Jeffreys!
Well done this was awesome
This guy so good. Subscribed hugh 👌
damm man u just got another subscribed been bing watching your repairs and I like your content !

the most underrated channel ever
Hey Hugh Jeffreys that is really cool what you did too the Samsung Galaxy S8.
That looks really nice 👍👌
Looking forward to when you get the galaxy s10 (hopefully if you get one)
JerryRigEverything: this man gets my sub. And a selection of mohs picks for an added bonus.
The legendary tech man is here!
Looks great!
I like how this end result looks
Hugh is the god of tech
Yesss I’ve been waiting for this
amazing mod and video. greetings from Argentina
Took me 2h to do this on my Galaxy S7, nice job anyway!
Nice video! You should try to remove the black stuff from the wireless charging receiver to make it look better.
from Samsung to Apple you are the best
Thanks fir the help with the 6s! Making a vid soon
Ah yes, lovely video.
Cool video bro! I like transparent phones 👍
Yes very good keep doing this!!!
WAITED ALL YEAR FOR THIS ;D
I did this to my Redmi Note 8 Pro, and I love it🔥
I did this with my Mi 6, but I undid it since I didn't like the look after a while, cool video
I know hindsight's 20/20 but I think I would of wore gloves to cut down on the smudging while cleaning/reassembling. Overall cool mod looks great, good work
Hi Hugh I just finished making a iPhone 5 btw awesome vids
You can put alcohol on it. Just few drops. As the you peel the alcohol keeps on dripping down the sticker comes off without any heat!
Very nice. I subscribed! :D
Nice video man
The camera bracket covers up about %85 of what was exposed by removing the plastic bracket from the wireless coil, %15 in this instance isn't much of a gain for that part of the mod. You can get clear plastic adhesive and apply it to the inside of the glass back to provide the same benefit as the colored adhesive that was removed.
Hi where did you get the screen protector for your s8?
I know it's just glass and it'll fall out if you drop it like you said, but it's there a way to add like a clear plastic so it's still laminated?
What did you use to reapply the camera glass and fingerprint sensor? Just double sided tape?
*making clear s8 instead of a recent Samsung flagship*
this mod is very cool!
Hugh Jeffreys is now HughRigEverything
My s8 does the green lcd issues as well. My back panel is completely fine, although my front is a little damaged.
Hugh, how long it takes to charge samsung s8 from zero to full.? I been thinking a upgrade since my note 2
I'm beginning to like this
Nice job
I love how you jerryrigged this phone..
What kind of screen protector are you using? Most screen protectors I've tried for my note 8 has always been horrible in terms of screen sensitive. I'm hoping maybe someone has a decent brand and can tell me what you use. Thank you!
Is there a list of phones on which you can do this mod, since i have seen this before on some other phones?
Nice video!
just a quick question, what did you use to seal off this phone? could you link whatever you did? amazing video btw!
could you potentially add a transparent plastic sheet behind the glass to prevent it from just shattering away?
Hello HUGH plz tell me I have an iPhone 3G that is tuck on recovery mode and doesn't boot just stuck on it I will be really helpful if you help me
Hey Hugh. I dropped my S8+ in the water and since then my power button wont work. any idea to fix that? Samsung service center said they have to replace the whole board.
for anyone doing this it'd probably be a good idea to source some clear vinyl to put in the place of the colored vinyl that gets removed specifically because of the whole cracking thing
the adhesive that you use keep the ip68 certification?
You can paint the screws in red that will give a better look
I am becoming an IPhone repair person full time and was wondering if you had any advice for me, (since you have been doing this for a while now) if you could that would be great.
What about next time using clear adhesive laminate or something similar so if the glass would break it would not shatter to bits? Just an idea.
Where did you bought that? I also wanna do it to my samsung galaxy a71
Hey hugh im thinking on buying the s8 + were can i can one at a affordable price in good condition?
I think Zach is assembling an army and Hugh is commander in chief
Misread the title briefly and thought it was “Creating a Temporary Samsung Galaxy S8”. Makes sense! 😂
which adhesive is used to hold the glass panel????????
nice looking
Thank you! More Android videos!!!!
Love your videos
PLEASE do A restoration of Galaxy S3 LTE
The upper plastic part you have cut off contains antennas... it is stupid..
is this true :O ?
Awesome
Hey, i love your content, but could u possibly at the end of a video make a score of how easy or hard it was to do what u did in the video. cheers from the US and keep up the good work
What's the brand of that screen protector? It's hard to find a decent one.
WTH? I thought these glass backs were painted on.. I'm blown away.
1:55 Hugh Jeffreys: glass is glass and you will crack it and it will just shatter everywhere
Jerryrigeverything: glass is glass and glass brakes
nice video nice work
"glass is glass" real original Hugh 😂.
Very epic
When we change the back is the phone still water resistant???
Wanna see you spray paint the interior to get custom colors and finishes like mirror or even metallic/anodized
If you go to eBay and search for "s8 glue seal" you can find all the seals for the fingerprint, camera and backcover. If you clean the frame with 99.9% IPA it will create a seal as good as original and it also will be waterproof again.
what do you do with the phones after you fix them?
Nice video
Just a question what do tou do with your phones
Do screen protectors (glass) work on the s8?
Aren't there antennae on the piece of plastic you cut off?
So, is the phone still waterproof after the mod?
I'd eventually do this with my S9 whenever I get an upgrade, but I wanna keep my water resistance.
Sadly you will loose your water resistance. Perhaps if you use some MOBIEL B-7000 50ML Multipurpose High Performance Industrial Super Glue Semi Fluid Transperant Adhesive you can create a somewhat water resistant seal
Did this to my s7 like a few months ago, however it recently broke into a million pieces while the phone was opened again, really cool but theres no way I'm trying this on my new s8 anytime soon.
are you using a tempered glass?..what brand?
Nice
Hey how much do iphone utensils kit cost...
where did you find that screen protector??
