I’ll be honest, when I first watched your videos I came for tips on my own leatherwork. I thought the editing was annoying, BUT now I look forward to your videos and all the work you put into editing them. Great work once again.
I am fasinated by that surface roughing tool you use to prep the leather for gluing. I read below in another comment you might be making & bringing them to market. Look forward to that, keep us posted. Excellent video's I have picked up many tips/tricks from watching them. Thank you for that!!!! Your my new favorite craftsman to watch on UA-cam.
Thanks for sharing another great video. The 10 seconds of stitching really put it in perspective how much work goes into making the finished wallet. I could only imagine how much time goes into recording and editing these awesome videos! Keep up the great work.
Thanks !! Yeah .... that 10 seconds which seemed like an eternity on film, was only 2 stitches (1/2”). So it gives a good perspective. And the videos take 25 - 50 hours, roughly. For a 4 hour wallet. 😆
Mascon Leather wow! A true labour of love, and it shows. Your videos are interesting, have a story them, have some cool characters, and inspiring. The finished pieces are awesome as well. I really look forward to the next works of art. Cheers!
Another great video!! Love the brick reference to your history/company name... Chloe is wonderful, we are terrier people too.. they let you've in their house.....
Thanks for the video--- I've made several similar money clip/minimal wallets with the same style clip but really like your version much more as I'm about 2 years into 'test driving' mine and there's a lot of stress on the stitching (didn't make a flap like yours). Might have to give that a go! Again, love your video style and the Chloe cameos!
Nice wallet and great video. I looked at the prices of the rechargeable dremels and took my corded one apart today and fixed it. I can last a little longer until the cord drives me crazy.
Another great wallet and video. You’ve actually inspired me to try leather crafting. I’ve made myself a simple wallet with four card slots. It’s not to bad for my first one. My biggest problem with making a wallet with no template is the card slots. I keep making them not wide enough or stitching to far in on the edges.
Another great one... Question, why make it as two separate pieces, or three if you include the clip part that holds them together? I’ve never attempted a money clip wallet so I’m not familiar with the design details. Thanks as always for sharing your talents.
Where do you buy your leather,I been working with veg tan for three years now and having trouble finding high end leather in the colors I like. Thanks enjoy your vids.Have a swaller for me .lol
Happen to have an affiliate link to where you picked up those wide mouthed/duckbill plier looking things? Are those canvas pliers or some sort of smooth jawed seemers pliers? Been looking for something like that for my shop.
@@MasconLeather Thank you sir! Much appreciated. Again I say...I just love your vids, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention your crafting style. Very masculine, not like some of the froufrou stuff I see elsewhere. Bravo!
I have, but I never mind answering questions.... and you don’t have time to scroll through various videos and comments. I completely understand that. They are Amy Roke brand leather pliers.
Oh wow. Yep. We’re all brick masons. Grandfather, father, me. The name Mascon is named after the old family business “Mas-con” which was “masonry- concrete “. Nice eye.
@@MasconLeather Yeah I read that in a magazine article that was written about you. When I saw that flip I was like yep definitely masonry was a big part of your life. I'm a carpenter so I notice stuff like that, Lol. Anyway you have been a huge inspiration in my leather craft. Thank you.
So many little things stand out. The strange, $2 bills. The dog balls. I once tried throwing all my tools. I impaled myself and now I don't do it any more. The dog outside. Let me take a breath from speed stitching. Left handed priority? Less alcohol in this video. 100% more beautiful women. Nice touch. I am trying to master the template, ruler, cutting edge technique. Not very succussful. Oh, yeah, beautiful leather wallet/clip. Wonderful design. Tremendous technique. Yay!
Thanks so much for all of that, Bruce! (Sometimes all of these are referred to as Easter eggs.... usually in movies. ) Oh... the brick - reference to the business name sake. From the 1960s onward. Mas = masonry. Con = concrete. “Mascon”. They construction business of grandfather, uncle, father, etc was “Mas-con Construction”. I borrowed the name and dropped the hyphen.
@@MasconLeather Easter eggs are notoriously hard to identify. I would be more inclined to call yours 'visual puns'. As a graphic artist, I try to put them into my work. It is not easy.
