Hi! Question: In total, how many blinder-thingamajiggs did you use for the entire build? I'm going to build this myself and I want to have everything I need before I start!
NOTE TO BEGINNERS: 1.) Take your freaking time making this thing; ESPECIALLY is you're doing everything by hand. Very likely you won't get this blade done in just two hours (unlike the duration of this tutorial), so take your time to make a blade that actually works! On my first go, it took me 4 HOURS just to get the base, blade and locks just right! I didn't even started on the switch section of the hidden blade; never mind the "pulley" mechanism! But by the end I didn't regret it and the first time I made the hidden blade it worked just fine, even if it did take me an entire week! 2.) He isn't kidding when he says that you need to get each and every measurement correct and that you need to sand/reinforce every part! A majority of problems with the blade come from not properly making/sanding the parts, so take your time to do that for each part! 3.) When the OTF mechanism (i.e. everything you build in part 1) is complete, I highly recommend using silicon oil (like the stuff you use for airsoft guns) to reduce the friction between each part. He doesn't say it in the video, but since everything is made of wood there is going to be a lot of friction between the parts. Instead, apply sand paper minimally (because sanding too much at this point will just straight-up ruin the parts) and apply oil to the blade. Then, wherever there are problems, analyse it carefully and fix it once you have 100% determined the cause of the problem. 4.) Take breaks! Working for 4+ hours with no breaks at a time is not good for anyone! Rushing the construction of the blade will do more harm than good anyways! 5.) Remember why you started making the hidden blade! You wanted something straight out of the video games that you could use in real life; something which solely belong to you and was made by you! If you remember this while you work, you won't be as impatient, angry, or undetermined when things inevitably go wrong.
Thanks man, you are truly the best tutor I've seen online. I'm sick and tired of clicking on 20 min videos full of fast forwarding and video cuts that I can't keep up with. The fact that you put the time and effort to not only build the object in REAL time, but also explain it is astounding! I don't care if the video is extremely long, you did what the purpose of the video was. To teach and explain in full detail, what the video is about. I applaud you. Please don't do any future tutorials any differently! Keep up that hard work!👍
RAWICE511 has the most detailed tutorials ever!!!!! It helps so much to actually have someone who will give full on detail on what you doing. You know the tutorials are right when in all it is a two hour tutorial!!!!
This is FANTASTIC! It utilizes materials that can be easily obtained, common tools, cost effective build that anyone can do! I also love how it is not dangerous. I have been looking for something for my son Halloween costume. The store bought are crappy overpriced plastic crap. Other builds I have seen on the internet especailly those made of metal seem a bit to dangerous for my son so this is just perfect! Thank you again for sharing this!
So early in the video when you’re explaining a lot the video goes silent for a few minutes. Basically meaning I’ve got no idea how to start because I can’t figure out what is happening. Any way you could fix this? I know this is an old video
WOW!! You have made my present dream come true. You have shown the measurements of the most difficult pat while other youtubers didn't show that. I was stuck in that step but thanks for the template and the structure.
not bad man. definitely better than imdeepain since he's not that specific with his tutorials. good job man :) might make my onw soon as all my tools are packed up. and update that logo man XD i made you like three already lol. good to see that you're getting alot more subscribers than before :) keep up the good work man!
+Roaddbuster Thankyou so much! Yeh I came up with a new logo designs as well but I need to get it professionally made since my Photoshop skills suck. But I would love to see the three you have made :)
+RAWICE511 lol, you can commission me, i know photoshop/illustrator really well. and you already got those photos, check you're messages i edited the first two because i guess they weren't that good? you should have the latest one i made.
I am just wanting to say I am really liking this tutorial you are doing. I watched another youtube video from over 4 years ago your design is similar to. The thing I am liking about yours is you are going step by step to make it easy to follow.
Your audio cuts out as you start the building process, I try to eye ball what you do but it’s really hard, it works after a few minutes but other than the 5-ish minutes of silence
Finally a tutorial where they actually explain every thing and don't cut out to much and tell you the measurements bra u just got ur self a new subscriber 😉😉😉😂
Thanks Alot man For this tutorial. It is more than enough anyone could wish for. Some people are saying they want template but it is more simple this way. And btw I had already finished making the first part of the blade and it works great.
Thanks, this helps me legitimately build about another 100 projects with the ideas in this video. Wow, imagine being Altair and having The Apple...Wow, what a legend!
Yes as long as you use the same measurements however you will need something stronger to join the metal such as a welder or epoxy and you may have to use a spring instead of a rubber band.
Hey RAWICE! I really loved this video- It is very interesting. I would really appreciate it if you could make an AutoCAD drawing using these measurements and upload them on another video. I will use them for getting my pieces laser-cut. I hope you will make all necessary parts including their used amount. Thanks a lot!!!
Can someone help me? I copied every step he shows but at 1:02:07 he seems to skip a few steps because there is suddenly a rubberband connecting the two wodden pieces we just biult. I don`t understand how the mechanism already works in the next scene. I treid to connect the pieces with a rubberband too, but the blade still doesn`t spring out like it should do. What am I doing wrong?
Na Ds hi, how big of a rubber band did you use? Because from what I see he uses a small one, and from what I understood 1. Yeah, I also think that he forgot to mention the addition of the rubber band, but after adding that I believe that it should work... are your angles from the piece at 1:02:33 pushing your “breaks” from 30:54 all the way down? Maybe that’s a problem..: what exactly happens when you try to move your “slide” up?
Thinking about making one out of stainless steel. I'm a welder so it will be fun. I would make a wooden one for my fiance seeing as she is kinda clumsy (No offense babe)
I thought about making a metal one too, but I don't know: What tools should I use to cut it properly and then join it all together? Where to buy materials? So basically I have BPs, those videos and a dream xD
I couldn't find the section in the video where you added the rubber bands between the kickers and I thought you may have missed it, do I just wrap a rubber band around the ends of the kickers or do I do something else? This tutorial is truly amazing, thank you for spending the time to make it
1:02:10 it's pretty simple just wrap the elastic around the two small hooks we made on the end of the kicker springs look at the time I said in this comment and pause it on the video and you can see how the elastic is attached.
I decided to make it with metal. There was multiple attempts. I sharpened the blade too. Idk why I'm just a knife person as well as an assassins creed fan
i'm making mine of rosewood, a very strong type of wood, pinus wood, aluminum and for the blade i'm making a steel blade. its a hell of a job but it's getting beautiful
hey, you know, a big help with making this to get rid of the tedious things and possible mistakes would be a Three D Printable of all the major parts. it would make things a lot easier.
That would defeat the whole point of this tutorial video. Not everyone has a 3D printer I would say 1% of people watching this video have one so that's why I made this video so that people who do not have any other way of making or buying a hidden blade can make their own. But Thankyou for the comment. ;)
+RAWICE511 no problem, I understand. I know I could build this but sometimes I just don't have the time. I'm do appreciate the work you've done and don't mean to undermine it with quick easy way to do things. thanks for the reply.
Now, plenty of people are asking you to sell it to them, but I'm not entirely sure on the legality of that, seeing as how you aren't in the United States and I not well versed on much foreign law regarding automatic gadgets like this, but a set of blue prints would be awesome for those of us with the means to make a full metal version to fiddle with and modify!
l needed like 2 days for 40 minutes of your video...its perfect for now (i am using 3mm strong wood). Done with the rubber part (needed 3 hours to fix), now need to make the things again...
you are the only one who makes the blades good and with wood or metal not cardboard i gave lxg design a bad review and they reported me just because i said it was shit
Dear Rawice511 am one of the first subs u got and i have only one request i dont know if you can do it but can you please make the phantome blade mechanisme tutoriale i tried every mechanisme i knew but no one fit on top of the hidden blade
1:02:16 I am definitely having this problem, and i cant figure out of its because of the type rubber band im using or what. It will extend and retract somewhat but never all the way past the catches

Hi! Question: In total, how many blinder-thingamajiggs did you use for the entire build? I'm going to build this myself and I want to have everything I need before I start!

4Tifier thanks for the advice my dude. I took my time (5 days) along with breaks (1 1/2 hour work and 1 hour break). This was really helpful :)
4Tifier do you know what those slats were or where to get them
i made this out of metal, and it works beautifully.
Red Wolf where can you find the templates/blueprints?
Red Wolf what were the dimensions of the 2 mm thick sheet metal you used so I can purchase the correct amount
Many thanks
Red Wolf how did you fit the springs in?

I made the part using wood and then try to duplicate it using metal
Finally! Someone who shows me how to make a hidden blade that actually works! I'm VERY grateful. Thank you so much! You just got a new subscriber😃

What’s the wood specifics. It’s silent when he talks about it.
Same here..
At 2:21. Can anyone help?
They look like slats from a wooden window blind, the the things you use to block light from coming in through them.
finally I've been waiting for this for f****** years well maybe not years but a long time
Sjaa Dhahd same here!
Sjaa Dhahd I've deffinently been waiting for years
at last...... all my efforts to find a video that allows me to make a real hidden blade has paid off!!!!!!
tip: always talk in millimeters.
That's impressive! i'll be spending my summer building hidden blades
YES THANK YOU i always hated the single action one i made a couple of years ago

please
ElQuakerBlacker do u still need blue prints after one year im making some now ???
Bouke Sikkema hook it up with the blueprints, it would be so much faster than watching the video
Bouke Sikkema if you have blueprints can you make an open google doc
duncan tg i am still trying to perfect my blue prints so it will take some time and it will by easy to read 2
I've been searching all over UA-cam and this is the first one of the hidden blade videos that I've seen work. Nice job!!
“I'm gonna need expense for the raw materials”
I've been trying to make a hidden blade for 3 mouths and all the tutorials I've wached are shit but this one is the best I ever saw

Thanks Alot man For this tutorial. It is more than enough anyone could wish for. Some people are saying they want template but it is more simple this way. And btw I had already finished making the first part of the blade and it works great.
pls make a template/blueprint w/ labels that we can print, for us to easily make one :D thanks in advance

you know shits serious when they have a cutting table in the background
Dude, step by step tutorial. This guy is awesome
This is awesome!!! Thanks so much for doing this build keep it up man! Great mechanism by the way dude! Totally going to build this myself.
can I use metal while using the same blueprint?
Yes as long as you use the same measurements however you will need something stronger to join the metal such as a welder or epoxy and you may have to use a spring instead of a rubber band.
At 1:02:10 you missed a step, what do we do there?
Will a Soldering Iron Suffice?
+James “The Lone Assassin” Stead no it's not strong enough you could use brazing to join the pieces which is kinda like soldering only stronger.
um, but really, what do we do for the missing step(s)?
thanx for showing to make a ''real'' hidden blade that actually works. Great work bro
Yo should create Templates to download. I'll be helpful! :)
Hey RAWICE! I really loved this video- It is very interesting. I would really appreciate it if you could make an AutoCAD drawing using these measurements and upload them on another video. holy shit, an actual good hidden blade how to tutorial video.
can u make a tutorial of Assassin Creed Connors blade pls :)
+Light BRO Maybe :P
Light BRO check imdeepain
it would be very cool, I certainly would like to do one
Connors blade is all I want in my life
Without the visuals and the blade that turns into a hand blade, you essentially HAVE Connor's dual action blade.
I like that you use wood because you can just paint over the outside of it
cut the music, it's annoying and distracting,
He's not going to edit his video for the likings of one person so fuck off
Or maybe he could replace it with Assassin's Creed Music. I feel like that'd be rather fitting
+AcXiD Scythe yeah but sometimes the music cracks and It's hard to hear.
I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time thank you so much for making this tutorial

How much for u to make me one or to sell me that one
Just make one yourself
I'm vibing to the old soundtracks ty for cheering 2020 a bit ;--;
a 3d printer would be so much easier
If you want a quality printer it'll cost you like 3000 dollars.

i bet if he explained things faster and cut out unnecessary parts it would only be like 25 mins
