Jb! If you need to cry just cry, i dont think people will think less about you, if anything people will love it when you show emotions. Sometimes its good to cry, just let the feelings come out as it should. Some songs is made for people to cry, i think crying shows strength,. Its definitly nothing to be embarresed over. Sometimes when i hear music like this one it makes me think of the people i have lost in my life. Sometimes its happy tears for all the good memorys, sometimes it sad tears because i miss them. But in the end its better to let the feelings out. Im not saying that you have to cry, its all up to you man! 🫶
Amen. There are reactors people will recommend certain songs to because they know there'll be an ultra emotional response. Two in particular I can think of. Nothing wrong with that...
I absolutely love how music can give everyone of us a different perspective that we can relate to it in some way. It always feels good to feel “heard.” She (Amy) and the guy in the video (Ben Moody) wrote this song together. It’s really about the death of a loved one. If you listen closely, some of the lyrics give it away (I’m bound by the life you left behind, I tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone- but though you’re still with me, etc.) she’s also playing a ghost/spirit in the video. She’s the one who has died but the lyrics are in his perspective. that’s why she’s wrapped in bandages, she’s never in a scene with Ben, her feet never touch the ground, and he’s dressed in funeral attire. “My Immortal” means even though that person is gone physically- their memory and all the things they did for you that she sang about are immortal and go on forever. If you’ve been through death that close to you, this song really hits home in a soul shattering way.
I can empathsize and also know the pain of loss, I lost my first wife, 2 year old son and unborn daughter to a drunk driver in September of 1982 and it still hurts to this day since then I have lived my life one day at a time
@@cindycindy2894 Thank You, I'm sure it is what she would have wanted me to do. Of course it hasn't been easy without her and our son but I had to be strong for them
I am so sorry for your losses. I can only try to imagine your pain. I lost my father-in-law, then my brother, and then my mom, all unexpectedly, and all in a four month span. I'm sharing that, because I turned to music, music videos, and reaction videos, to help me cope. One artist that truly helped me was Avi Kaplan. His voice and lyrics are powerful and cathartic. Some have actually taught me what meditation means. I hope you can find some small comfort in knowing that others care. God bless. 🙏@@JohnB1163
Such a stunning song, and Amy Lee's voice is celestial. She even looks angelic. This song was for a time my favourite thing to sing at karaoke. I sang it in the original key, but as I'm a guy, I sang it the octave down. Made it sound like the prettiest song Creed never performed...😁
This has been a song, as a 50yo man, that's got me. Would love to hear it in a church resonating.. Would absolutely love to hear her sing hallelujah. Her voice is amazing.
If a song moves you to tears then let them fall. I would consider them a compliment to the artist. Holding the emotions back can be damaging to you, letting them go can be a freeing experience.
There is an internet theory about the video. The band has never confirmed nor denied it. The theory is that in the video SHE is dead and is trapped here as a ghost because she is still attached to the guy. Notice that aside from the water fountain, her feet never touch the ground? Notice that the guy is alone, dressed in a black suit like he just came from a funeral and is emotionally distraught? Notice she is dressed in "angel garb?" Also, there is a quick, blink and you'll miss it moment in the video where he is walking down the street and suddenly looks around.... like he feels her presence.
JB I don’t know if anyone has come right out and said this to you, You are allowed to have feelings and emotions and express them freely as you see fit. When something is so beautiful that it resonates in your soul, that is a good thing. We cry because our emotions need an outlet. Trauma, especially emotional pain doesn’t just stop and go away. You might want to react to Janis Joplin; the song is called Cry Baby. If someone is trying to shame you for not being an emotionless robot tell ‘em to piss off. Crying is a very normal healthy reaction to various stimuli, Sorrow, happiness, pain either physically or mentally or emotionally. The sight or sound of something that reaches you at a deeply fundamental level. You are probably going to hate this part, but here goes… you are so young still and from your video uploads I get the feeling you have had your share of life knocking you on your bum then kicking you in the teeth before you can even get yourself back up again. The hurts don’t disappear but you can learn and grow from them so that it wasn’t completely meaningless. All we can do is keep going, love yourself as much as you do any other member of your family and friends. It’s so easy to start believing when you catch crap from too many people who don’t know you or where you’re coming from or what you have already experienced then some bullying self-entitled Karen comes along and tries to make you feel inferior so she or he can prove to themselves that they are superior. Find someone, a relative or a friend or even a stranger whose opinion you can trust and who is honest without being vicious and when the crap is getting hip deep and you are ready to tear your hair out or do something maybe not so good for you, you get together with that person and you talk to them about what’s eating at you. Ask for advice or an opinion or maybe just a different perspective. Just be you and be honest, if you only paint part of the picture you’re going to get bad advice based on wrong information.
Amazing song. So heart felt and beautiful. No stripper dancing or twerking necessary. Just a beautiful song. Wish more people could just appreciate music for what it is
Amy is one of those voices you can't forget.... A true gift. You should react to her cover of John Lennon s 'Across the Universe'. It's magnificent, and I believe Lennon would have been quite impressed with her cover
This is Ben Moody's writing (the guitarist of the band at the time) and he confirmed years ago that this is fictional. It was first recorded in 1998 as a demo, you can find the original version on youtube.
Amazing song! Has always been one of my favorites. 'Bring Me To Life' is another. You really need to check out Voiceplay, too! 'Nothing Else Matters,' 'Creep,' 'Hellfire,' 'Dream On.'
I expect the reasin she can emote these feelings so well, in part, is because hee younger sister died very young But yhe sing is actually about Ben (guy in the suit) grandfather who died
Please do check out Corvyx's version of this! it will blow your mind. He sings in the original key. Just do a search on his name, he does EPIC covers. He's also covered My Heart Will Go On!!!

@@stevetournay6103 This song, I relate to right now and always will, a tortured heartbreak.
She reminds me of a fairy. I can't hear it without crying. That's her on the piano, also.
Her voice is out of this world love the song also
One of the best songs of this century.
Amy Lee is legendary for her voice alone. Simply incredible.
Your comments are the best!! You have got a beautiful soul!! Greetings from the Netherlands

10 years after losing my husband this song is no less powerful. Beautiful song.

Heartbreak is an under statement. The song was written about her younger sister that passed away.
