i love your budget small 4x4 scene. in australia its all massive utes and wagons. they are all heavy , expensive and unnecessary. the cheapest thing we have with five doors is the jimny and thats au$41000 or 21 thousand pounds drive away new
Love these things. One thing that did come to mind. It must baffle people when us Brits use a mix of Imperial and Metric measurements in conversation 😂
Yeah we have swapped the engine in the yellow car that appears on the channel frequently and it goes very well 👍 The video of that will be uploaded next week
I have that exactly engine. I'm thinking to tune it to 90hp, it is so much better? Any cons? The main problem with this version is the gearing... Perfect for off road but it goes to over 3k rpm at 110kmh
Hi, please can you help me? My rear drives are not working. I removed the electro-pneumatic valve and tested it at 12V to see if it worked, and it lifted the valve upwards (which I assume is working). We changed the oil, but it still doesn't work. Nothing can be heard in the differential, and the driveshaft rotates normally without any strange sounds. Model is Fiat Panda 169 4x4 1.2 51KW. Do you know what happens? Thanks!
Hello, congratulations for the modification of the Panda and above all for the really interesting channel!! I too would like to modify the panda shock absorbers, could you tell me where and which accessories to buy?? Thank you!!
With 30mm spacers you must be careful which springs you use. I previously had springs fitted which were supposed to be a direct replacement for the originals but they were slightly longer. This combined with the 30mm spacers lifted the car too high and the driveshaft made contact with the subframe over bumps. Springs from different brands will vary in length even though they are all supposed to be for the same car so its just something to be aware of. I now have shorter springs fitted so I may put the 30mm spacers back on when I get a chance.
Hello, I need to put 20 millimètres spacers at the rear of my 169 4x4. Do I need to remove the rear diff to do it ? Could you give me some explanations please ? Many thx !
Would you consider lifting the car with longer/fatter coils instead of spacers? Many 3rd party manufacturers have different-longer sized “standard” coils, diesel pandas use these. Even way do you recon maximum overall lift from suspension (coils and/or spacers) to be 20mm?
@@UKPanda4x4 Thnks for the reply, theoretically using a longer coil rather than a shorter coil with an inelastic spacer gives more linear compression, but reconsidering it again this (might) apply only to dynamic driving, not for climbing. Please correct me if not. Regarding lift, is it the wisest to limit lift to 20mm? Do any other equipment are needed like longer bolts, nuts, bump stops, strut mounts, any spacers to arb so as not to have any weird interferences? I ve seen the prometeo 15mm lift kit that include some bolts.. Do you have the link for the russian spacers? Thnks again and appreciate.
Thanks for the video, it was very informative. I've got a 2008, 1.2 petrol, panda 4x4 which I've had for about 6 years. I absolutely love it. I've often thought, my perfect car would be if Abarth had done a version. I had wondered about the 100hp engine, but hadn't seen that it had been done, so assumed that there would be issues with the transmission coping with the extra power. Has your friend not had any problems... so far?
Its been in the car for a year, he hasn't used it for all of that but it has had a really good thrashing and has had no issues. Theres a couple of fiddly bits that need doing but its otherwise a really straightforward swap. The hard bit is sourcing a donor car for the right price as you need more than just the engine to make it work
@UK Panda 4x4 That's a very good point about sourcing the right donor car, I can't imagine there are too many good ones about, but now I know it's potentially doable, at least I can keep an eye out. Thanks for the response.
Nice build very nice 🙏. Love the future mods to electronically lock the diff 😮 that cant be cheap. Is it too much of a mission to fit this suspension to a mk2 uno 😅 . All the civics and golfs are being converted and i wanted to know about fiat, sorry for being off topic a bit or should i not bother and buy the 4x4 here in south africa n enjoy
Pure class, love how you modified most of it yourself, best affordable way to off road
Thanks! 👍
what a lovely car. im sucker for small "urban" crawlers ;) . i'll keep my eyes on that diff and transmission mods for sure.

great car, Fiat Panda
that is absolutely amazing.
wow, thanks for soooo good explanation, friend!
Glad to see you back into the fray again😊😊😊😊

Thanks a lot for this!
You're very welcome!
Great😊
How to lock diff (future mods)? Thanks
Beautiful car! GL
Thanks, very interesting. I also want to build a custom exhaust. I already swapped 1.2 engine by 1.4 (from Fiat Bravo) and it's a much better.

@@UKPanda4x4 Why not just start with a 1.3 liter multijet car? That can easily be tuned to 90hp and loads of torque. Are they rare in the UK?

As I said in the video, the shocks are standard. These are Bilstein but they are just an OEM equivalent replacement.
Chopped.
Ciao posso montare sulla mia panda 4x4 originale gomme ricoperte tassellate senza ne rialzare ne allargare la macchina?o avrò problemi nelle sterzate?
thanks for interesting video! You have mentioned that lifting by 30mm makes some issue, could you please comment what kind of?

You do not need to remove the diff for any of these mods

The research and/or cost in finding the right spring to do the same job makes no sense. You wouldn't gain anything in this case.

Just look out for something thats been crashed. Even a front end smash could be fine because you don't need the air con or the radiator from the 100hp
@UK Panda 4x4 Thank you, I was wondering if a front-end crunch would work. 👍🏻
center cap, from fiat 126?
or uno? strong panda...
From an Uno I think but I am not certain! Someone else will have better Fiat history knowledge than me

Do you swap that 1.4 engine?
Not yet, waiting for the right donor car to come along
