Brother, thank you for doing this video, you've enlightened me to do the same. The first and last time I had a turban was tied by my dad who isn't here anymore, and this video bought me to tears reminding me of what it felt like when he tied that turban on me. Bottom of my heart, thank you, I'm going back to Amritsar very soon.
Thank you so much to you guys for beautifully explaining Sikhi and the Punjabi culture. Just few highlighted points about Sikhi ( cuz my life has been truly blissful because of the teachings of Sikhi, I really wanna share them) • Sikhi is a way of life. It’s about letting go of one’s ego and reaching a higher state of life where we recognise the life within us and everyone around us. There’s only one ☝️ life within that’s just taken different forms. • Thus it absolutely follows equality. No one is low or higher in cast, race or religion. We are all one ☝️ • Guru Sahib (starting from Guru Nanak dev ji to current Guru Granth Sahib ji ) teaches us how to live an enlightened life while dealing with everyday scenarios • The meditation practice is to remind us everyday to see the one life force (call it God, light, divine, Allah, energy) and to never fall into duality. • It helps to break mind barriers. Guru Sahib addresses to mind a lot stating that we all have an opportunity to experience this divine within us ( yes it is very much possible) • To always stay on the path of truth. Everything is temporary other than this divine energy which is always present. So meditation helps us to stay in the present moment and not get carried away with wandering mind. • Sikhi definitely teaches us to protect those in need, again cuz we truly know we are one. I’m truly grateful to be able to walk on this path of bliss ❤🙏
The wagah-atari ceremony is amazing. I've been in pakistan for a month now. Today(20th Jan 2023) was my first time seeing the flag lowering ceremony. It was amazing to watch the soldiers conducting the parade
Those green seeds are called SAUNF (Fennel Seeds). They're served with MISHRI (Sugar Crystals). Saunf is served as a mouth freshener after a meal but because it's taste is not very good, they would give you Mishri along.
As a american born new yorker, I deal with many people every day in my job, it's nice your sharing this with us to help learn of other cultures customs why it's done. I found it very interesting. TY
Just watched this, I’m a British Sikh, loved this video and how you have obviously studied the religion to explain things as you go along. Great stuff guys, beautiful family although mate you don’t half look like Joe Joyce! Brilliant stuff!
A very nice effort to learn about the religion. Don't worry about offending if you make a mistake. Sikh means student. And students are expected to make mistakes while learning! Be happy and enjoy your stay. God bless!🙏💘
