0:10 - While I’m sure you know this, most of Kirby’s lore is fed to you in roundabout ways, such as secret pause screen text only seen during boss fights, or forgotten land’s gatcha figures. [...] they took the opportunity of the recent return to dreamland remake to incorporate new lore, and updating already existing lore ever so slightly to help make certain things more obvious. [...] My question is do you think sonic remakes could benefit from the same thing? For example, if there was ever a remake of sonic battle, they could perhaps update any text in that game to perhaps foreshadow incoming lore/stories.
4:03 - How big are you two on the Kirby remix events that HAL puts out a lot? In case you don’t know, kirby music gets remixed A LOT in various ways. There’s, of course, the remixes in the actual games, but what I’m talking about is the music events that happen outside. [...] Which ones are your favorites? If you guys haven’t, I really can’t recommend all of these music events enough, because they are pretty much the embodiment of what makes Kirby music so damn good.
5:08 - I demand to know why cream wasn’t invited to Amy’s birthday party in the murder of sonic the hedgehog. I better not hear this “she’s too young for a murder mystery” nonsense, that rabbit lived through an alien invasion she’d be fine.
6:23 - Honey the cat is a very strange character, mainly because she ISN'T a character. She’s had one single appearance in Sonic the Fighters, and even then she didn’t actually appear as a playable character until the 2012 port of the game. [...] This gives Honey LOTS of potential for you to create from the ground up. Is there current discussions about bringing honey into official media again more than just cameos in art? And do you have your own ideas of what you’d want out of Honey in Sonic, whether it’s in classic IDW comics or classic games? The encyclospeedia already established she’s a fashion designer, which I assume you snuck that in from Archie, so I think it’d be really cool if…wait! That’s a fan idea, I’ll stop here.
10:11 - Metal Sonic. For the longest time, a lot of us have had the same complaints about metal sonic, that being he’s just really lame now. He went from being Sonic’s ultimate rival, to just…bad guy of the week. And that’s mainly because metal just gets beaten way too easily nowadays. [...] This will probably come off more as a request than a question, but is it possible at all for metal sonic to get that same treatment? It’s a shame that a character like metal sonic is meant to be this terrifying overpowering menace, but ends up just feeling like the sonic equivalent of a koopaling.
14:25 - In my last mini, I asked about Sonic’s house and mentioned sonic labyrinth as an example of sonic having a house, and you, Mr. Flynn, said “well first off sonic labyrinth isn’t canon so ha!” Oh how I laughed. Now that sonic labyrinth is canon, and by extension, his house… *sharply inhales* WHERE IS HIS HOUSE? HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE THE MAN STEPPED FOOT IN THAT HOUSE? HOW LONG HAS STICKS BEEN TIED UP AND GAGGED IN THAT HOUSE? DID SONIC PUT HER THERE BECAUSE HE FEARED THE TRUTH???
15:31 - Sonic schoolhouse…the sequel. All of the students are chao, and the teachers are sonic, tails, knuckles, Amy, cream (assistant cheese), big, shadow, rouge, and omega. Who teaches what? How does it go? How long does it take for omega to finally lead these flesh babies down a peaceful path of destruction and fire? Are the chaotix the lunch staff or janitors?
19:14 - Something that I haven’t noticed until now is we actually don’t know much about Vanilla. We know she’s cream’s mom, and she prefers a quiet life, and that’s about it. There of course isn’t really a need to flesh out Vanilla since she’s just a support character for someone who is already a side character, but is there any aspect about Vanilla you want to explore more? Maybe something about her past, or her relationship with the chaotix, or maybe her own challenges as a mother?
20:41 - Which sonic character do you think Kirby would get along with the most? I think he and cream and cheese would pretty much become best friends, but I can also see Kirby really vibing with Big or Sonic. Bonus: how about vise-versa?
23:37 - How would you imagine Cream and Cheese would be introduced in the movies? I like to imagine it’d be relatively similar to how X introduced her, by her being saved in the human world and sheltered in the human family’s home, but I want to see if you think this is the best method or if there’s a better way you’d like to see.
24:20 - Have you ever tried writing a line referencing something from sonic 06 and then remembering “oh yeah, they don’t remember that.” and have to change it? Also if possible, could you name an example if you did run into a situation like this?
25:26 - Bat fight! Meta Knight vs Rouge! Who’s winning? The sword dancer who’s defeated “the greatest warrior in the galaxy” or the flying spy-thief with plenty of tricks and gadgets up her sleeve? The location is aboard meta knight’s halberd, for no other reason than because it’s cool.
*I like Rouge, but Meta Knight has rivals that can destroy planets (like Kirby and Galacta Knight). Meta Knight’s more comparable to Super transformations imo.*
26:35 - Back when I was but a wee lad, my favorite sonic character was SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG! …then they made him suck so stopped caring about him. But as of late, shadow fans have been eating GOOD. [...] My question about this is if this keeps up, do you think shadow will ever regain that same level of love he once had in the adventure 2 days? Also, do you think Shadow will ever get his own game again?
29:45 - I’m really confused about Tikal and chaos so I was hoping you could explain it clearly so my smooth reptile brain can understand what exactly is going on with them. So we see them float off at the end of sonic adventure, and I assumed they were going back into the master emerald. We see Tikal and chaos get their own ending card, showing them at the master emerald. We see Tikal and chaos get their own ending card, showing them at the master emerald altar finally getting to relax, and in that picture the master emerald has this green beam of light shooting out of it from the top. I always thought this was meant to be like a sort of spirit world thing in the master emerald where they could protect it from within, but I guess that wasn’t the case? I don’t remember it being stated anywhere in any of the games that Tikal and chaos died, we just see them float off. I always thought it was implied they could return again, but…I'M CONFUSED!!! How/why exactly did they pass on (if that’s what happened) and is there any possibility they’re alive/could return? I’m not asking about any mandates from sega or anything, but more so what the artistic direction was at the time of adventure’s release and if that’s changed ever since.
32:02 - In frontiers we see tails knuckles and Amy all have their own sort of self reflection/self discovery arc throughout their respective islands, with the whole cyber space problem affecting them. If Cream was also in the game with her own island, what would her arc be? Would she even have an arc in the first place? Or would she just tag along with Sonic throughout the island as he tries to restore her? would cheese be horrified to find out his kind used to be stretchy flightless water people?

OK, imagine if cream was allowed by her mother to go to the murder mystery and she was the one assigned to be the killer. She just casually walks up and says “Excuse me, Mr. sonic, is it fine if I hit you with this blow dart?”
Sonic probably wouldn’t even resist he would be like “Oh I can’t say no to you. Just make it quick.”
Yeah.
But Cream also would have been helpful and completely honest about that with all the investigators, huh?
So....could have been adorable but probably not much of a mystery?
5:08 Actually, the out-of-world reason is the same as the internal one. Both Cream and Charmy were originally going to be suspects, but, according to Katie: “We decided they were both too young to dabble in the workings of murder. I’m happy with the cast we ended up with, and it was just enough to give each their spotlight without overstaying their welcome or dragging the story on too long.”
I honestly agree with the team’s reasoning, especially in regard to the game’s pacing. In my playthrough, I was feeling a bit of drag around Rouge/Blaze’s segment (though the bomb “defusal” was one of my favourite parts of the game), and having another character section before Shadow’s actions were explained probably would’ve brought down the experience for me. That being said, I’m surprised Silver was apparently never a possibility when he appeared in stuff like TSR and the Olympic Games.
....is it terrible that I kinda just figured that Charmy and Cream got lost in the train station?
I mean seriously, the train itself had enough secret passages to defy physics. So clearly the train station had the potential to casually contain fractal hallways and who knows what else.

Absolutely.
But they will end up saving a whole herd of former train employees who have set up a primitive camp somewhere in the building while awaiting rescue.
And maybe also stumble across a chao garden where instead of evolving, the chao just get different jobs. Security guard. Band member. Etc.
There is that option in the settings that makes exploration dialogue more like you intended

I appreciate Ian rebuffing the Metal Sonic jobber allegations, because he absolutely isn't. There was only 1 time I felt Metal actually jobbed in IDW and that was issue #56. Every other appearance Metal is honestly treated as a scarier and more competent threat than Eggman.
Since SEGA said Sonic never loses, does that apply to bets, card games, and etc? Is Sonic a cheater!?

10:11 - Metal is in a funny spot. I can't think of single time Sonic beat him in fair fight in the comic... but he keeps fighting 1 Vs many.
Neo Metal? 1 vs army
Return in 14? 1 vs Sonic AND Silver
Surge? She either has Kit or that silly hat
Urban Warfare? Again, small army
He actually won against Shadow in 1 on 1. Sure, it wasn't 100% fair fight as he run away, but that's a good thing. Every fight will have external factors that favor one combatant. Unfair win is much better than boring tie.
That's how it worked in Archie as well. Metal almost never lost in a fair fight.
I guess what Metal needs is "Eggman Vs Starline" moment. A clean win to remind us how dangerous he is.
I know comic is a bit scared to give anyone a clear victory, but I think he could defeat Rouge, Tangle or Chaotix. Or let him bully Zavok's crew, no one would object tot that.
Well uh…two of those question I sent are missing some important context I added, which left them sort of half unanswered lol. Mainly the Kirby remixes and metal sonic questions. But at the same time that’s on me for making them a little too lengthy lol
In my most recent (ongoing) playthrough of Final Horizon, I set a personal rule that if a map icon appears on the map, and the character I'm currently playing as can try it(so, Map Challenges and Map Koco), I HAVE to do the thing as them. This has led to some shenanigans, like Knuckles being the fastest thing on Ouranos Island and solving tricky logic puzzles. How would things go with character interactions amidst such hilarity?

Honestly it feels like Metal Sonic and even Sonic himself don’t ever get the chance to display what they should truly be capable of in the comic. Maybe the narrative glazes them up every now and then, but it’s kinda hard to take Metal Sonic in particular seriously nowadays.
And tbf Modern Metal Sonic is definitely stronger and has been through more upgrades than how he was in his first appearance, so it’s not really fair to use that to discredit him.
Q: Is it possible for you guys to introduce a new alien race in the comics?
I think it would be cool to see a new threat in the comics that can bring the same gravitas as the Eggman Armada, rather than the more interpersonal ones we’ve been getting. You know a second dish rather than a dash of spice for the world.
If the movies did knuckles well, i have faith they’ll do the same for shadow.
Congratulations, the Sonic Storybook Series is getting Rebooted, and as FAR more than just a duology, BUT, Sonic himself isn't allowed in the Storybook games, not as himself anyway. That's right; this time it's the Sonic Cast being Isekaied! What wacky combinations come of this? Eggman and the Secret Rings?(actually oh no poor Sharha!) Shadow and the Seven Seas? Blaze in Wonderland!? Please discuss ideas!

Perhaps that stability is what has made Cream such a divisive character in the franchise. Sure, she is cute, but she doesn’t really have much else to her to keep fans’ investment compared to the other characters.

In my opinion...
Cream has a living biological parent.
Which is not something that anyone else in the franchise has been allowed to acknowledge and retain.
And her best friend could be an eldritch monster waiting to happen or just a cute little witness to more history than anyone in Sonicverse has recorded yet.
And...at least in the comics....she's currently living with a polite conscious robot that can maybe learn any move that it sees?
So Cream has a kinda unique perspective to offer.
With a whole lot of potential.
To grow.
She feels like a character who could work with nearly anyone else in the franchise.
And might even be up to the task of carrying the franchise.
At least for long enough to act as a natural bridge between Sonic who represents now and Silver who represents the distant future.

Sonic has found himself isekaied into an alternate universe where he, his friends, and his enemies are part of a high school (Think like Equestria Girls).
Which high school archetype do each member of the Sonic cast fill (i.e. the jock, the mean girl, the basket-case, etc.)?
I hope this isn't considered a fan idea.

Either way, Sage attending the same high school could be awkward. If Eggman is the teacher, Sage is gonna be teachers pet.
If Eggman is just another student though... Would Sage be the mean girl? Would she be supporting him or rivaling him for the bully archtype?
Other than that...
A few of my random thoughts include:
Omega should be the jock.
Sticks can be the basket case - but it'd be fun if she could also pull valedictorian.
Sonic has apparently dreamed all his heroic adventures while sleeping in class. He's gonna be the kid that all the teachers expect to fail in life, but he actually lands an awesome creative job before graduation.
Starline gets voted Most Likely To Be Isekaied in the year book.
Shadow did not really want to be the Class President but due to being widely admired, he got the job anyway.
He takes the job way too seriously at first but then catches on to the way things work in administration and finds it mildly amusing to start confronting others who have misused their authority.
Silver is the cheerful undefeated champion of any school sport, as long as he can keep his concentration.
When was the decade that he disappeared? After Sonic CD he was in Triple Trouble, Sonic Drift, Sonic R, Knuckles Chaotix and Sonic the Fighters, and technically even Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
So-- no, he wasn't gone for a decade prior to Sonic Heroes. And he certainly wasn't gone for either decade after that game came out.
Yeah not quite sure what Ian was cooking with tha take.
I believe what Ian was trying to day was that he never had any major presence or roles since CD, even with stuff like the Game Gear games.

As someone who holds themselves as a bit of a Dedede Buff I honestly Have to completely Disagree with your take on him, Prideful yes but I feel like your assessment of him is far more applicable to like Kirby's Adventure Dedede or Crystal Shards Dedede, but looking at his modern appearances where he's so close to Subjects that he was willing to sacrifice himself just to ensure the safety of a singular Waddle dee, which in my personal opinion speaks Volumes about Dedede's strength of character
Prideful and lazy yes, but behind his Boasts and Penguin Blubber lies a heart of gold that I really felt got ignored in your Analysis of him.
I see a lots of people claims that Bean and Bark going to leave Fang at the end of Fang the hunter comic. I hope not, there a perfect looney tunes team.
Also, Meta Knight can give Rouge the ol Dr. Starline fatality considering a certain power he has post Star Allies.
