Glad it was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions. I am currently working on the Route Planner training video that should be up by this coming weekend. Rick
You're right! I should change it up sometimes but it is the one place I have found close by my house with good scenery, where I can get away from a lot of people. It's easy to find beautiful places here in Colorado. Rick
Question about creating course using the 66i. With my profile set as hiking, when setting a waypoint, with a marked trail to that waypoint from my current location, the 66i will set a course that includes roads to the waypoint. I don’t want to go by road and trails, but rather by trails only. And I don’t want a direct straight line path either. I want trails only, not trails and roads. How do I set trails only?
Wow! Great Question! I will call Garmin about this as I don't know the question. I'll get back to you tomorrow with an answer of if it's not possible. Thanks for a great question. Rick
There are two things you can do: 1. You can go to the map, zoom out and pan to the area you are interested in and search that way. 2. You can go to MENU, then go to COURSE PLANNER, then CREATE COURSE, choose either direct path or ROADS & TRAILS, the SELECT FIRST POINT. This is where you will be able to use the map, recent finds, points of interest, cities, fuel services, and more. I believe there may be a way to search for a particular business but I am not completely sure about that. You may want to contact Garmin about the particular search I'm referring to here. Let me know if you have any other questions. Rick

Nice backdrop! There is no need for a green screen with a view like that.

You make a good point they should make searching more simple or intuitive.

I created another course creation video if this helps.
