      overall, no, I still love it and I'm proud of it every time I drive it. If you pressed me on what I would do differently, it would probably be a crate motor or a fully rebuilt motor, I have a few small oil leaks and I'd love a few more HP. It's been a great addition for my family and thanks for watching!

    Is that the stock 5.3 truck accessories drive brackets?

    • @longhorn8459
      @longhorn8459  6 місяців тому +2

      Driver side yes, passenger side no, Holley bracket for a/c pump to move it up. If you don’t move it you need to notch your frame and I didn’t want to do that. Check out Novak for more details as they supplied the bracket.

    Did you use the stock A/C compressor? Which relocation bracket did you use to mount the A/C? Thanks!

      no, bought new a/c system, I can't remember the relocation bracket but I think it's in my cost breakdown video

    I am in the middle of an LS 5.3 swap in my 02 TJ. What parts did you use for the oil pressure sensor and temperature sensor to use the jeep gauges? I am also using a lot of the Nowak conversion parts and I am currently waiting for my wiring harness which has been back ordered till the middle of January 2022 because they cannot get the fuse blocks they use. Did they give you directions as to what wiring needed to be taken out of the jeep harness? Or do you have any suggestions for me when it comes to cutting down my jeep parts?

    the new bases for the supports you installed them in the same position from which you removed the old ones ???

    • @longhorn8459
      @longhorn8459  3 роки тому

      Ronald Escoto I don’t follow the question, which piece are you talking about?

    • @ronaldescoto27
      @ronaldescoto27 3 роки тому

      Talking about the engine mount brackets

    • @ronaldescoto27
      @ronaldescoto27 3 роки тому

      the question is if you soldered them in the same position where the old brackets

    • @longhorn8459
      @longhorn8459  3 роки тому

      Ronald Escoto no, you weld them in different places to the frame based on the instructions from the supplier. I ordered from novak and they have pretty easy to follow instructions. The engine ends up sitting a few inches forward since the 4.0 is long and straight whereas the V8 is shorter and wider.

      I bought this one but I ended up using the stock bracket as it worked better www.quadratec.com/products/12590_042X_PG.htm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0tDb3Nms6gIVDvDACh3H2AyZEAQYAiABEgLKHPD_BwE

    Hey I wondering if this swap would be basically the some for the xj

    • @longhorn8459
      @longhorn8459  4 роки тому

      Maybe, I’ve seen some xj swaps on YT and they seem similar but I’d call Novak to get a more educated opinion.

    what axles are you running? do you think the 30 and 35’s will work? or are you upgrading to bigger?

    • @longhorn8459
      @longhorn8459  3 роки тому +1

      I think they will work and that's what I plan to keep until they blow up. If you're doing rock crawling, they won't work. This jeep was a fun project and I drive it a few times a month with the kids so the axles are just fine for that. Also, I, like many other folks, have spent WAY too much on my jeep and I can't stomach putting more in for axles just for fun. If I did upgrade, I would probably do super 35 in the rear with a locker, I probably wouldn't go d44 or d60 or do the 8.8 conversion.
