Several people have inquired about using modifier keys, so instead of responding individually, I've decided to share an explanation here and pin it for future reference: Each button on your MMO mouse is linked to a specific spell or ability in your game. With modifier keys like Shift, Ctrl, and Alt, you can assign multiple spells to the same button. For example: - Pressing '1' might cast a fire spell. - Shift + 1 could teleport. - Ctrl + 1 might heal a party member. - Alt + 1 could summon a creature. This way, the '1' button alone offers 4 different actions, depending on the modifier key used. You don't need extra buttons, just remember which modifier activates each action. I'm quite a visual person, so I tend to organise my in game keybindings visually into groups of 12, based on the modifier keys used. The first group of 12 spells/abilities are the base keybindings without any modifiers. The next 12 use the Shift key, followed by 12 more with the Ctrl key, and finally, 12 with the Alt key. Most people probably won't bother with this but the setup makes it easier to recall and execute abilities if you happen to forget. By simply glancing down, I can quickly see which group an ability belongs to and the corresponding modifier key needed. Very handy, especially when you're getting use to new spells or abilities. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks for the satisfactory reply I think u should have added that only games with predefined Alt/Shift/Ctrl combinations commands this can act as 48 buttons
As someone whos owned 3 scimitars over the years. I will say this, the mouse is solid. For someone with a hand length of 21cm and width of 11 I have yet to find a mouse that is as comfortable to use. HOWEVER! and this is huge, dont let the initial appearance of the mouse give you the impression that the build quality is good, because it really isnt. First off, the soft plastic texture is a pain to clean, and will wear off especially on the ring finger hold/platform. 2 - The side buttons wear down quite quickly, where some keys rlly need to be pressed in hard to register ( Its not dirt related as I have taken it apart and cleaned it out completely, this has happened to 2/3 of the mice ive owned), and last but not least, by far the most infamous thing about the scimitar is its scroll wheel. The first scimitar I got which I purchased back in 2014-15 didnt have any issues with the scroll wheel, but the later ones I did had. The scroll wheel would skip a lot of bumps while scrolling, and even scroll in the opposite direction of the input given to the mouse. I and many other friends who have the mouse from my guild in WoW have the same exact issue, and looking into the wireless version now, a lot of people claim they still have not resolved this issue. In the end of the day, it is a great mouse IMO. Shape, and sturdiness of the shell and base with minimum to 0 flex. My only gripes are the material used for "anti-slip" and the cursed scroll wheel. Personally for the premium price they are asking for the wireless version, I personally dont think its worth it. YOUR MILAGE MAY VARY.
Just a thing to note: Corsair have silently removed their 2000hz polling rate from all of their mice. They didn't tell anyone, they just did it. While that won't make much difference for people looking for an MMO mouse, it's just a thing to note if it sways your decision over another mouse.
Thanks for pointing this out! It seems Corsair's 2000Hz polling rate might not have been a true 2000Hz anyway, which could explain why it was removed in recent updates of iCue. Interestingly, some Slipstream wireless devices are still listed with a 2000Hz polling rate.
If you don't like the gloss, there is another Red Dragon that doesn't have it, the Redragon PERDITION ELITE M901P-KS / M901P-WS WIRELESS GAMING MOUSE. It looks almost like the M913 but doesn't seem to have the gloss. Also, the UtechSmart Venus Pro RGB Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse, has the exact same body as the M913, but has a rubbery texture grip (AFAIK that's the original, cause it existed before the Red Dragon, but can't be found outside of US at least for a decent price). However, there is one thing the video isn't mentioning which I find is a dealbreaker for me and that's the "Fire" button, the little extra one right next to right-mousebutton. Rebind it to a key button for interaction/tab/most used skill, and it's amazing, never again do you have to move your fingers from WASD to click "E" or "F" to interact/talk, or swap target (tab-button). Anyway, I've hade the Red Dragon M913 since it released a good 4 years ago and I haven't been disappointed, it still works flawlessly. The battery life is a bit worse with the RGB, but then again I don't need RGB so I just go eco-mode and it last for a few days without the need to be charged. I just wished Red Dragon would release a new updated M913 with Bluetooth so I could connect it to one more device at the same time, instead of needing to move the dongle.
I am still rocking two of my G600s for work and games. Had to replace some switches but other than that they are still solid...only thing I would change on them is the wire....that is why I am looking at your video.
i have a corsair scimitar elite wired mouse and am looking at changing to wireless. you happen to have made a video on the 2 i am looking at so thankyou mate, awesome vid👍
I think I’ve bought every mmo mouse there is over the years and the Logitech g600 is still my favorite. I really wish they’d make it or a new one again. My most recent was a hyper speed razor mouse and I just don’t like anything about it. Redragon M901 is probably my favorite. I like its glossy finish that doesn’t wear down over time.
I was in the market for a replacement mouse. I've been using the Logitech G700s. This mouse has lasted me 7 years, with only having to replace the feet once. Unfortunately, in Logitech's 'infinite wisdom' /s the above mouse isn't supported in the new (finally getting much better) GHUB software. I was thinking about the Corsair Scimitar, but the lack of tilt on the mouse wheel, and that of the notorious issues with the iCue software, I shied away from it. Another thing I wasn't happy with with the Scimitar was that lack of definition/angles on the 12 button layout. The RedDragon looks interesting, but I have no experience with the maker and would worry about it's build quality and software support. I happened to find a new Logitech G600 for about $50 equivalent. I'm hoping I can get used to the new grip required for the G600. Though Some positives for me: 1. Right 3rd button for GShift 2. GHUB Supports LUA Scripting (useful on occasions where games don't provide certain functions) 3. Will allow me to stop needing two separate Logitech Software running on my PC (G700s needed the legacy version, while I have the GHUB running for my Keyboard) Cons for me with the G600: 1. No wireless version 2. A bit heavy (but I'll open it up and remove the lead weights inside of it if it becomes too much of an issue) Ultimately what I want is a new version of the G600 from Logitech. Something like a G600 Pro This version would have Bluetooth and Wireless and be improved further on the design, keeping the primary button layouts, but increase quality of the scroll wheel and also allowing a free scroll toggle button. But you know, now that I just bought a G600, I'm sure Logitech will release their G600 Pro version this year. hahaha
If you're gonna go Wired, might I recommend the Redragon M990 Legend, if you can find one atm? I've had 2 of them, & they have a 16-key side with 4 rows of 4 buttons.

for me the deal braker is the software I have been using the Utech smart Venus 16000dpi and it was awesome at first, but then the side macro's just stopped working for wow. the software form the website is bugged and never going to be fixed. so I had to spend 3 days trying to find an older version of it because apparently its suppose to work, 3 days later yeah na it doesn't so I ordered the red dragon m908 hoping I'm not going to have to same issue later on down the road.
I prefer the Redgragon, mostly all because you WILL have scroll wheel issues with that Corsair Scimitar. It's only a matter of time before it starts to act bonkers. I also prefer the thumb rest. Without it, I always accidently push buttons when moving the mouse to the left.
Very helpful. I was leaning to the Corsair prior to watching, mainly due to not even knowing about the RD and being biased against cheaper products... But I think I'm going with the RD now, just have to consider a few more details.
Only the mice can the default DPI buttons be changed to say ctrl and alt? and will those changes stay with embedded mouse software profile (main PC program: corsair IQ, reddragon) off?
You can't change the DPI buttons to anything on the Red Dragon M913, they are locked to DPI settings, however, any other keys you changed you can load onto the mouse and it follows you wherever you go no matter if you got the software or not. You can even set up a few different profiles and then just load them onto the mouse, and use it on a completely different computer withouth the software.
What would you say about the sound of the clicks of the redragon? is it to loud? decent? Because I prefer silent mices that's why, sadly can't find any mmo silent ones.
I cover the sound of the button clicks at 9:37 in the video. Neither mouse is silent or particularly quiet, I'd say they're pretty standard in terms of noise levels but I guess this can be subjective.
I was on the fence about 2 other mmo mouses (naga and scimitar) and happened upon the red dragon while searching. Your video convinced me to go red dragon instead as I’ve had issues with other corsair products as my key board randomly disconnects if the icue software is installed and the community answer was not ideal.
I have been building up a collection of wireless gaming mice lately and just ordered this one partly based on your review. I also have the Redragon but mine did not come with a case! ☹ I have about 5 Redragon mice and they are great values for what you pay for them. Most are like this one you mention and are heavier and made for people with larger hands. I find a lot of the name brand mice are a bit overpriced, but I cannot complain about their quality. I own mice by Logitech, Corsair, Razer, Asus, Rocatt, Turtle Beach, etc and really like all of them!! I prefer larger heavier mice. I will get my Scimitar this afternoon and will play with it when it arrives!

@JamesTalksTech oh, so it's not customized for mouse, it's in-game bindings, that's bad. My g600 is dying, but the "shifting" third button is op there - 24 macros under thumb is much better than only 12, and for me it's a deal-breaker. (also scroll wheel tilt is very useful too, and now it's somewhat rare, especially on new magnetic logitech scrolls) if you know any mmo mouse that has shift button like g600, please tell me. (but not razer, it's lifespan is 2∼10 month)
@@k4nokun That's standard for modifier keys, not necessarily a bad thing. I understand that many use the G600's ring finger button for Ctrl or Shift to manage up to 24 commands with just the mouse (without needing to use the keyboard). Unfortunately, I don't know of any other MMO mouse that includes this feature. Razer didn’t make my shortlist, primarily for the reasons you mentioned. Given my past experiences, their products seem to last about 12 months. They could be more reliable now, but I wasn't ready to gamble on a Naga.
According to RTINGS, click latency on the 913 (even when wired!) is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the Corsair, about a 15ms difference (18ms compared to 3ms) which is an important factor for gamers, especially in multiplayer games. That is a very high latency for a gaming mouse. For productivity I'd go for it but for gaming outside of single player games, I just can't see it. For me, that's the deal breaker.
Hi there, is it possible to share your hand length for some perspective (mine's 19.6cm)? Logitech says to measure from tip of middle finger to the crease below the palm... Thanks!
i got the aerox 9 wireless it was between this and the m913 im pretty happy with the aerox light weight button placement is perfect (i have pretty big hands seen ppl complain about it but its perfect for me) came from a cheap 20$ cad mmo wired mouse and its so much better
I considered the Aerox 9 and it almost made my shortlist. However, I had concerns about the ergonomics and saw many complaints about the size and accessibility of the side buttons. Glad to hear it works well for you, though!
@@balifromdilli The same principles apply for productivity as long as you set up the relevant macros or hotkeys. AutoHotkey could definitely help with that.
i have the red dragon mmo wired mouse and i love it and i will buy another one because it is that good for me. i had the scimitar elite wired and it gave out on me after a year or two and the rgb stopped working all the together. i found it cleaning the red dragon mouse either than corsair's mouse. i do like the texture on corsair's mouse though but i also didn't like the sliding for the extra mouse buttons too. i hate the gloss on the red dragon mouse so much and the cheap plastic but the grip tape helped with that. both mice fit my hand nicely too. overall i like both mice but im loving the red dragon mouse a lot more so far. it's cheaper too may i add.
The LED light worked well when I had the mouse, as you can see in the video. However, I can't comment on whether there are now driver issues affecting the LED, since I no longer have it.
@@JamesTalksTech without icue software lighs on but if you set icue lights goes out.. and they have no solution for this for along time İt is shame on corsair..
I have the same Logitech. I also had it's predecessor, which failed under warranty. LMB. The store tried to charge me more as the aesthetics changed slightly. Short story.. They did not. So today I purchased 1 new Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse on sale :) Should be a beauty! Oh, that Logitech. LMB again. Don't buy Logitech mice. My opinion. I also had the bad boy G602 years ago. Loved that mouse for feel etc, but again LMB.. So that's 3 for me. Racing pedals & wheel doing just fine.
I have a lot of years playing mmo and the only thing you need to understand is that all those mouse are disposable, and all of those using all the days, all the year should give you at the most 3 years of use, so dont waste your money in super expensive mouse that you dont need it, goes for the most economic cause in the end theres two kind of mouse. Expensive trash Cheap trash In one of those year theres always something that fail (cable, scroll, some keys, accidents, etc)
@@sorvex9 Sure, the Naga was first, but it had its issues. Its button profile was flat, which kinda sucked, and if your Naga lasted over 12-18 months without problems, you were one of the lucky few. I've moved away from Razer after repeatedly facing reliability issues with their products. In contrast, the Logitech G600 introduced some great refinements like angular buttons and a ring finger click, and it lasted years for me. Chinese or not, my experience with the Redragon has been surprisingly solid - it’s proved more reliable than any Razer product I've owned. Maybe I just got unlucky with Razer in the past, but it seems to be a recurring issue. Hopefully they're more reliable now but it's all about what works best for you ☺
I have loved my scimitar and my k95 corsair keyboard is my favourite of all time - BUT I am here to look for new products and new developer, which I find sad. It is because of Corsairs ICUE, it is an absolute trash software. Yes you are right, at first glance. But the program will uninstall itself once in a while, and other annoyances such as not opening itself at windows start even though the feature is set, or not registering your hardware. It sadly does not seem like Corsair, which I like a lot. Have decided to fix their program, I have now given them a few years to do so.
I get what you mean about Corsair's software. I’ve had issues with iCUE on my boys’ PCs recently too - it’s uninstalled itself a few times, which isn’t great. I'm glad I stuck with the Redragon over the Corsair.
I love corsair products, but after my last corsair scimitar broke (the mouse wheel doesn't click anymore) I decided to part ways with corsair. the iCUE 5 is terrible. Every week it breaks and don't start. I had to manually uninstall and reinstall every week. During those weeks it fails to start with the system, fail to see the mouse, or close unexpected. The customer support is non-existent. It's a pity that a brand with a long history as corsair is throwing all away by refusing to fix that software.
Do you think a person with small hands could pull off the Redragon? I've been eyeing the AATROX M811, the IMPACT M908, and the LEGEND CHROMA M990, and I'm feeling awfully tempted by them, especially since my current mouse is starting to kick the bucket. 🥲
I personally find the Redragon really comfortable, but it’s hard to say how well it might suit someone with smaller hands. For example, my 9-year-old found it too large, and some of the keypad numbers were a bit tricky for him to reach but everyone’s experience will vary. The best approach is to try it out if you can - maybe order it on Amazon and return it if it doesn’t quite work for you.
@@JamesTalksTech My hand is about 17cm in length and 9cm in width. The mouse I currently have-some SteelSeries-is about 12cm in length, 6cm in width, and about 4cm at its highest point, which is not far off from the measurements of the AATROX M811 (123.4mm x 86 mm x 49.5 mm) and the IMPACT M908 (122.5 mm x 92 mm x 42 mm). Amazon Spain has the IMPACT M908, but they charge 23€ more than the official Redragon store. I'm not tempted to order from them for that reason alone. Also, seems Redragon only ships the LEGEND CHROMA M990 to US, CA & AU Customers, so I can scratch that one from my list. Guess it comes down between the AATROX M811 and the IMPACT M908.

Explain the "Modifier keys" how do you do that ?
Each button on your MMO mouse is linked to a specific spell or ability in your game. With modifier keys like Shift, Ctrl, and Alt, you can assign multiple spells to the same button. For example:
- Pressing '1' might cast a fire spell.
@JamesTalksTech oh, so it's not customized for mouse, it's in-game bindings, that's bad.
My g600 is dying, but the "shifting" third button is op there - 24 macros under thumb is much better than only 12, and for me it's a deal-breaker. (also scroll wheel tilt is very useful too, and now it's somewhat rare, especially on new magnetic logitech scrolls)
if you know any mmo mouse that has shift button like g600, please tell me.
Thanks!
You'll be fine, mines just over 20cm
i got the aerox 9 wireless it was between this and the m913 im pretty happy with the aerox light weight button placement is perfect (i have pretty big hands seen ppl complain about it but its perfect for me) came from a cheap 20$ cad mmo wired mouse and its so much better
I considered the Aerox 9 and it almost made my shortlist. However, I had concerns about the ergonomics and saw many complaints about the size and accessibility of the side buttons. Glad to hear it works well for you, though!
please share more on modifier keys for redragon as you mentioned
A few people have asked the same question, I have now pinned an explanation in the comments section :)
@JamesTalksTech great thanks but I want to use the mouse for work purposes so I wonder what can be done for that. I am considering autohotkey
@@balifromdilli The same principles apply for productivity as long as you set up the relevant macros or hotkeys. AutoHotkey could definitely help with that.
Which mouse is built like a tank to last? I heard good things about G600 and M913 looks like G600.
Also M811? Which one is better M913 or M811?
m913 is a tank, and better imo.
I'd imagine they are similar in terms of build quality but the M913 has held up well and I don't regret choosing it over the Corsair.
Evga X15, it even has the 3rd ring finger click like the g600 and it has optical switches so they will never double click & lower latency
i have the red dragon mmo wired mouse and i love it and i will buy another one because it is that good for me. i had the scimitar elite wired and it gave out on me after a year or two and the rgb stopped working all the together. i found it cleaning the red dragon mouse either than corsair's mouse. i do like the texture on corsair's mouse though but i also didn't like the sliding for the extra mouse buttons too. i hate the gloss on the red dragon mouse so much and the cheap plastic but the grip tape helped with that. both mice fit my hand nicely too. overall i like both mice but im loving the red dragon mouse a lot more so far. it's cheaper too may i add.
It's great value for what it is 👍
Corsair Scimitar Elite Wireless LED light works ? they have driver problem no led light on anymore..
Racing pedals & wheel doing just fine.
not at all surprised, the red dragon is weirdly well designed for the price.
Yeah its great value compared to the other offerings
G600 best mmo mouse by far, it's a shame they stopped making it & there's no other options
Yeah I miss the G600!
R.I.P G600
FU Logitech
Also thank you for the video, I'm looking because one day my g600 will die =/..
But seriously want a friggin ring button =/
Hopefully, one day they'll give it a wireless refresh and bring it back but I don't see it 😏
I have a lot of years playing mmo and the only thing you need to understand is that all those mouse are disposable, and all of those using all the days, all the year should give you at the most 3 years of use, so dont waste your money in super expensive mouse that you dont need it, goes for the most economic cause in the end theres two kind of mouse.
Expensive trash
Cheap trash
In one of those year theres always something that fail (cable, scroll, some keys, accidents, etc)
Uhhhh razer naga is the original mmo mouse
Cool story 👍
@JamesTalksTech just found it weird that you only looked at copycats and Chinese brands lol
@ I couldn’t find redragon, when I searched on pricerunner. Maybe it is not available in my country.
0:16 its only an office mouse
DO NOT BUY CORSAIR UNLESS YOU LIKE HEADACHES!
