  • In this video, I am sharing an all natural soapnut detergent which can be used for washing clothes, washing dishes, and as a multipurpose cleaner.
    All the cleaner we use are loaded with chemical, it is time we switch to natural products which are not only good for us compared to the chemical loaded detergents we get in the market.
    I came to know recently that soapnuts are not environment friendly - My apologies for the mistake.

    Thank you for clearing up my confusion for using soap nuts. It's amazing how simple to use and beneficial really natural is. I've already bought two big bags having faith that one day either my experiments will be right on or someone will straighten me out. Thank you Padhus, if that is your name. Sorry but I come from northern Alberta, Canada. Also, I have been soaking and heating the nuts and didn't know what to do with the nuts left over. Now I know... just keep using them...alright!

    1. In washing machine or normal hand wash can we use at a time white and normal clothes like pink blue colour clothes is it k for white clothes? &
    2. One more thing is this soapnuts remove hard stains in washing machine or hand wash?

    Pls pls pls reply me 🙏😇

      1. I prefer to wash coloured and white clothes separately. I don't use soap nuts for white clothes. I use my diy laundry powder which I will share soon.
      2.Soapnuts will not remove hard stains. It is for your regular clothes . Hard strains should be scrubbed using a eco friendly bar soap and then you can put it in washing machine.
      3. You can use cold water but using hot water is more effective.

    Not saying that this is a bad video or idea. This is a great option for some people, however, I do take issue with the "chemical free" idea because everything has a chemical makeup. It's not technically "chemical free." They're natural chemicals to be sure and it's not packed with a ton Preservatives or harsh chemicals but even water has the chemical makeup of H2O. Chemical doesn't always have to be a bad word.

    Wholesome video. I'm using Reetha, Amla, Shikakai Shampoo and was wondering to replace laundry detergent. Could you please clarify... Can we use the one with bio-engymes to wash laundry? I do not prefer to use the hot cycle for everyday wash so omitting the sock idea in washing machine that's why concerned whether the one with bio-engymes good for laundry. THANK YOU for awesome video.

    • @Padhus-kitchen
      @Padhus-kitchen  3 роки тому +4

      Yes, you can use. I have used it for regular home clothes, towels and bed sheets. I have not tested on white clothes.
      If you do not want to use hot water cycle, you can soak the socks with soapnuts in hot water overnight. This releases more saponin (soap) from soapnuts. Next day you can add the socks along with the soapnut water in the washing machine. You do not have to use hot water cycle.
      I personally do not soak the socks overnight all the time, but add the socks directly. I use only regular cycle. It washes well only. For more than 6 years, I am washing my clothes only in soapnut water as I am allergic to chemicals in commercial laundry detergents.

    Thank you very much. Although very informative, I have a question. When you put soap nuts into a sock and put it in the washing machine along with the clothes, don't you think it will keep producing soapy foam even during the rinsing stage? So, logically, after the rinsing is over, and the clothes are ready to be removed, don't you think the soapiness would still be on the clothes? Please enlighten me. Thank you.

      I set all my machine cycles to ‘soak’ and remove the soap nuts before the rinse cycle begins. You can also use the liquid concentrate, which will work better for cold washing and you don’t have to babysit your laundry. 😂 Soap nuts work best in warm or hot water.

      Soapnuts does not produce soaps as commercial detergents. So you can leave the socks even after rinsing stage is over. I am allergic to chemical detergents and I have been using soapnuts for washing all my clothes for past 5-6 years. Once I drop the sock inside the washing machine, I remove it only after the full cycle is over. Then I hang it and dry it well. Reuse the same until it disintegrates.

    Can I use both DIYs one with only soapnut and another with citrus bioenzyme and sapnut for washing my hair ?
    Pls reply and again thanks for sharing this informative video 🌼

      Glad you liked this video. Yes, you can make one with plain soapnuts and another mixed with bio enzymes. For hairwash add only 100 ml of bio enzymes to a liter of soapnut water.
      I sometimes soak few soapnuts in bio enzymes for a week and use that for washing dishes.

    PLEASE REPLY: It didn't work well for me. It didn't remove even the small turmeric stain on my cloth. Even after using almost triple the quantity on daily wear home clothes, the results aren't coming that good. Some people recommended using hot water else the results won't come to satisfaction. Is that so?

    • @Padhus-kitchen
      @Padhus-kitchen  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can soak the socks with the soapnuts in hot water overnight (I have mentioned that also). Next day you can use it along with the water. I am washing for years and I am satisfied. But strains should be brushes separately using any non toxic bar soap. Try khadhi bar soap.

    Very useful information and how many days can we store this boiled soapnuts liquid in fridge mam and can we directly use the over night soaked soapnut(3nuts or more than 3) water for cleaning the vessels daily. Reply me mam.

    • @Padhus-kitchen
      @Padhus-kitchen  Рік тому

      You can store that soap nut water for 15-20 days in the refrigerator. You can also use overnight soaked soap nuts for cleaning vessels. It saves a lot of water and you will not have chemical residue in the vessels. You can soak 3 or 4 or as much as you need according to your needs.

      I am allergic to chemical soaps n perfumes they add. I have been washing my clothes in washing machine with soap nut n bio enzymes for many year. My clothes are not very dirty as I work only from home. So clothes are neat n clean. If there are too much stubborn dirt, you have to brush it with any toxic free bar soap separately (I use the khadi yellow soap, if needed ) and then put it in washing machine.

    Hi, is there anything I can do to help prevent the water from evaporate while letting it simmer. Every time I do this ti add the recommended 2 1/2 cups and the water evaporates out and there is literally nothing left. Would you suggest adding more water than you recommended?

    Lovely and very useful video guiding people towards a better and eco friendly guilt-free lifestyle. Thank you. It is a delight to watch your video and hear your calming voice explaining everything so patiently. I am a herbalist and I wash all my tools and utensils with Reetha. While washing, I collect the reetha water and use it to wash the floor and stairs. Thanks for the guidance on using in washing machine. So far I was just soaking the soapnuts in water overnight and then use that water to soak clothes in. But I haven't washed my precious clothes in it so far. My concern is doesn't the brown water leave stains on light colored clothes coz I faced that?

      Thank you so much for liking the video. I wash all my clothes with reetha. So far it has not left any stains in my clothes. Even silk sarees and salwars, I hand wash using strained reetha water. I have not faced any issues.
