- Join us as we head to Phantasialand in Germany as part of our Summer 2020 European Road Trip! In this action packed vlog we check out all of the social distancing changes in place throughout the park along with sharing off ride footage from all of our favourite attractions. This includes Taron, Chiapas, Black Mamba and many more awesome attractions! Along with that we check out the various other changes across the park along with taking a look at the construction of the new themed hotel!

This is such an iconic park
I live just a hour away from it from The Netherlands and visit this German park regularly and even though it’s small, it never disappoints.

Number 1 is ofcourse Phantasialand, after that Europapark.
But also Alton Towers is great for it's thrilling rides!

Hi shawn and Charlotte this park is so lovely I wish Alton towers and Thorpe Park had this much imagination with themeing. I'm sure Alton towers could build a really good indoor area like this one . My favorite park in the Europe. 2nd being Efteling and 3rd Europa park. Cant wait to go again.
Really excited to come back this weekend to my favorite themepark. Sad that I wont be able to choose first line on Taron, but hey at least I can enjoy Klugheim again

The last time I went there was in 1990/1991 when I was stationed in Germany in the US Army!!! Lots of fun was had then!!!!!!!!
I usually never go on Mystery Castle even though I like the attraction because I'm very easily scared in the queue. It's such a great park though (and a great video!)

News from Alton Towers. Dark forest is open!!! Th13teen has a really bad loading procedure as they have to put dummies on the black 3 rows (probably to do with weight and the drop) there is also an annoying fast pass queue that come in and take up 3 or 4 rows which means there are only 4-6 people actually getting on from the main queue for a ride that can usually hold 20 people leading to the queues being constantly over 100 mins long! I’m pretty sure they have given up on the half hour cleaning procedures the parks hours are now 9:30 to 6:00 and the only ride not open is Hex I think. Duel is open.

I’m only a few minutes in but wow, this place looks amazing! The coasters, the theming, pretty much everything about it! I will definitely be visiting this place one day, maybe when this pandemics over. Love your videos, stay safe!

@@ThemeParkWorldwide they changed the cycle in the winterseason 2019. You have to watch an old offride and an newer onride to see the changes

Charles Lindbergh Hotel looks amazing. Ok sure, the front isnt the most beautiful thing ever, but it fits the Steampunk theme they are going for. One can hope they will put a little bit more decor on it, but will will see when everything opens up :)

Phantasialand is one of my favorite parks in the world. First went about 25 years ago and since then they've expanded ride offerings so much with Taron, Black Mamba, Talocan and Chiapaz. I do miss the Grand Canyon Bahn and Gebirgsbahn though, both were from Schwarzkopf. So sad they went down in the fire 2001, but we got River Quest in it's place, which is also an awesome ride.
They have expended the ride offering so much!
Phantasialand is my local park, i live about 30 minutes away by car and its just an incredible park. Theming wise and ride wise its almost unbeatable. They got a good line up for thrill seekers but also for family. And all the attractions blend in so well with the theming. I love the park and im always eager to go back after visiting.
They do indeed have a very impressive ride selection

I was last here in 2000, Mystery Castle was pretty much the only ride I remember being there 😂. Changed a lot and looks well worth another visit.

Oh, Phantasialand where the Klimbinski Show was opened in 1977 and was refit and opened in Avonturenpark Hellendoorn in 1989, which ran until 2003 as The Magical Monkey Show. Country Bear Jamboree opened in 1972 by the way, just five years before Klimbinski Show openend. No clue where it was in the park though, probably some German can help there.

It's a shame that the VR roller coaster "Crazy Bats" is currently not running due to Covid 19. With the virtual glasses, the roller coaster is a 1000% upgrade!!! It is really funny 😄

Were there the same day & did Mystery Castle in the morning with a fairly long cycle (agree the drops aren't intense). River Adventure queue was especially horrific in terms of social distancing when we eventually did it at end of the weekend!
I also did River Quest the next day!
Would you be interested in a South Korea trip once/if everything gets back to normal? The parks there are pretty interesting, but very few people have covered them in depth 😭

It’s of a very different style to a Disney park but we really enjoy it!
Wow, impressed how much the park has developed- I visited here and Europa Park way back in circa 1993- just been to each the once, they have added so much since with some great ride and theme concepts- really need to get back to Germany post-covid and when I'm less poor :)
Regarding the steampunk theme it's something that can be done well or badly and either way will be an acquired taste- some will like others less so as you say. Done well it can actually be quite beautiful and artistically creative. Regarding the front of the hotel I don't think you can judge it too harshly at the moment- it's pretty much just the canvas of the painting, I'm sure there's some more raised detail to be added, including similar to your zoom ins of the FLY area- any building probably would look a bit dull with just the wall parts before the detail's added, so again if it's being done well I think it will look a lot more impressive once it has the details and colour variations they'll add, for now it's just a brown box.
Hopefully the design team have been smart with how to contrast this with the surface decor as it is a theme you could get wrong- it could end up ugly rather than beautiful if the design aesthetics are wrong, the clever thing about good steampunk design is that contrast of rusty industrial / unusual anachronistic tech / design and the more refined beauty of the decor/embellishments that can go with it- the two together can work really well but I do think you very much need to get it right so overall it looks good.

just goes to show how differently we see things, I think the Charles Lindbergh hotel looks stunning. full on steam punk theme. I can't imagine how it will look inside. it is certainly the no1 theme park I would love to visit, even more than Disneyland, I am so jealous of you both. That drop on the log ride, has to be done, I dont know when or how, but just have to do it!!
