What is your favorite monster movie and should we watch it??
*Troll Hunter (2010)*
*Shin Godzilla (2016)*
WELLLL I'd love to watch the girls react to the Godzilla and Kong movies if they haven't already
Kong skull island
LITTLE SHOP! LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS!!
Ya’ll should watch The Meg(if you haven’t watched it yet)! It’s like a combination of Jurassic park and Jaws
The fact that I could really feel Stella's discomfort really shows how invested you guys get into these movies, I love it!
I dont know if its been mentioned in here yet or not, but the reason Ralph and Lizzie were so much bigger and more mutated than George was because they had access to unlimited food, whereas George was severely restricted until he escaped from the plane. And then at that point George was being drawn to the signal so he had to eat while on the run. By rights George should have been the second largest of the three creatures.
This is definitely one of my favorite monster movies. That's the one thing about monster and disaster movies they don't need this super deep dramatic story to be interesting. You can just watch them and enjoy them
It was a decent movie based on a video game
@@nsasupporter7557 For me, this was the first truly enjoyable video game movie.
@@aleaanderson6600 really? You didn’t like Mortal Kombat?
@@nsasupporter7557 which one?
@@stargazer1998 the first one from 1995
"Of course, the wolf flies."
- Davis Okoye
😂😂
Originally, George was supposed to die but Dwayne Johnson said “umm I think not” and threatened to quit the movie unless George survived at the end. He wanted to make sure his audience would come to his movies to “feel good”.
Crawl (2019) is a good choice if Stella wants to face her fears of gators and crocs. The lead actress is Teresa from Maze Runner!
One really cool nod to the game was that the villain is the Lady in the Red Dress who is worth the most points in the arcade game. So using her as the cure for George was a fun little bit of writing.
Rampage is a pretty decent movie with good effects and some actually exciting action sequences.
Yeah it was a decent movie based on a video game
As a dude who grew up playing the arcade game in the 80s, this movie was everything I wanted it to be.
Also, Jeffrey Dean Morgan just chewing up the scenery has got to be one of my favorite things about this movie.
Yeah, I spent plenty of time playing Rampage in the arcade to back in the day. Went into mov expectations but was pleasantly surprised. At the very least it was fun and that’s enough!
He has such a smarmy punchable face
Hahaha James calling that thing a Porky-Pine was the best thing I've heard today! From now on, I'm calling Porcupines that!!!😂😂
😂❤
I never watched Rampage, but after this... It is now another one of my favorite action movies 🍿👍🏻 (plus there's Dwayne Johnson, so its a bonus)
Stella's face... she looks scared stiff whenever the croc is on screen compared to the others with visible disgust. Like damn, really reminded me of my own fears.
Great reaction as always. The director of this, Brad Peyton, also directed San Andreas (2015), which also has The Rock in it and is also pretty solid.
wait really? that explains the similarities between the two movies...
In both movies: dwayne johnson exists, he pilots a helicopter and has to auto-rotate (crash land) it, he jumps out of and parachutes from a plane, tall city buildings fall while he is trying to avoid them in previously mentioned helicopter, and plenty of explosions
coincidence? I THINK NOT
I loved this movie simply because it’s everything you could love about monster movies all rolled into one. It’s funny, action packed, the creature designs are cool as hell. It’s just a good movie 🤷🏻♀️
I definitely recommend you guys watching the Godzilla films. The Godzilla films that were put out are my personal favorites when it comes to big monster movies because everything that they’ve done from the plot, cgi even to the characters was just perfect
This wasn’t too bad of a animal action movie, Johnson didn’t do too bad and George was a riot, but i think the antagonistic animals could have been given better designs
Yeah I still wish Ralph became more like a bipedal werewolf with a blueish hue to his fur. I didn't hate what we got but I feel like if they made Rampage in 2023 we'd get something closer to the games concepts. I do think Lizzie is probably the coolest looking of the three with her size, frills, and gnarled teeth.
It was alright for a video game based movie
That actor is Joe Manganiello. He played Alcide the werewolf in True Blood and he’s married to Sofia Vergara :)
I like to think that George is smaller due to him being in captivity because the other monster had other animal features, probably the animals that they ate
the rock is basically batman in this movie just standing in front of doomsday holding a gun and doing nothing
34:10 I don't think y'all understand how little a gunshot does unless it hits specific areas and how long it takes to affect you anywhere unless it's the heart or the head. It's not like the movies in real life. Even if it's life threatening, if you get to the hospital you can survive about 90% of gunshot wounds. It just f****** hurts. Lol honestly if you're tough enough and can withstand pain, a gunshot's not going to bother you too much as long as you stop the bleeding
6:15 was such an awkward silence
Hahaha I know right. I actually thought my video froze 😂
@@tinahastie HA!
Fun fact. The original script had George die at the end. But Dwayne Johnson made them change the ending so George was saved at the end.
STELLA YOU LOOK SO PRETTYYYYY 😭😭😭😭
You should watch ''crawl' if alligators are your biggest fear.
Having played the original video game back in the 80s... the movie at its core, is Rampage, its got big monsters, buildings being destroyed, tanks, army men, a woman in red being eaten, just without the creatures being mutated human criminals.
Not a top tier movie, but it does its job as entertainment... just like the game its based on did. Definitely one of the most accurate Video Game to Movies made.
Congrats on 147k subscribers and you’re well on your way to reaching 150k subscribers on the channel before the end of this month.🎊🎊🎉
Keep up the amazing good work on your reactions and hope you do a livestream to celebrate your accomplishment on getting 150k subscribers.
You should watch GODZILLA 1998, CLOVERFIELD, GODZILLA 2014, Kong: Skull Island, GODZILLA 2: KING OF THE MONSTERS, and GODZILLA VS KONG.
All of the above, other than Godzilla 1998. 😬
Between George, Lizzie, and Ralph… who do we feel the most sorry for?
Me, I feel sorry for Ralph, because he went rabid and slaughter his family and pack and suffered for it.
My dad and I love the bits were George flips The Rock off twice.
Feeling really down today and struggling so much🥺, so I'm looking forward to this reaction. You always manage to get a smile out of me 🙂
Aww, i hope you feel better soon ❤️
@@lamayrita.18 thank you so much! 🌻
I have a suggestion since stella is afraid of crocs and gators it would be very interesting if you guys reacted to the movie 'Lake Placid'. And since you guys are watching some animal movies I suggest one of the best shark movies ever 'Deep Blue Sea'. Love your reactions.
Agreed. Both solid and fun movies.
You should watch Pacific Rim (2013). That is one of my favorite movies.
Another movie staring the Rock playing as….. The Rock plot armor after plot armor in all his movies
Yeah that’s true…
Thanks for the reaction. It was great!
Rampage was soooooo popular a game back in the 80s! Would always play it on the video game machine at the Subway's sandwich shop on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, NYC. That and Double Dragon, or Contra. Aahh, the memories!
I loved this movie. George has main character energy. That whole exchange after he pretends to die was so funny.
Please add Pacific Rim to your monster list. The sound design takes it to a whole other level. You feel the hype in your bones
this movie was a blast in the cinema and it is each time I rewatch it!
The designs, the GREAT CGI,the action, the direction that really gives power and justice to the size of these monsters, and,as you said, for it to be an adaptation of a plotless arcade,it's pretty damn solid!
You guys should really watch King Kong (2005) and Shin Godzilla for more CGI creatures and Kaiju action!
I understand Stella’s discomfort with gators and crocs. Reminds me of Archers rant in that one episode 😆😅
awesome guys, i had fun!
your sound was off at the end!
19:01 Being a person who lives in Florida and sees iguanas all day, I can agree with that statement😆
i use to play space invaders in our local pub the arcade game was built into a table and you have a seat in front of the controls while the invaders on the screen try to land while you shoot them a classic game in its own right , i also owned one.
The Gator had such a badass intro with that roar
Definitely react to The MEG (2018) one of my fave shark films!
The crocodile’s name is Lizzie, the wolf’s name is Ralph
The fact we did not get to see the croc once until the final battle, and also how easily it killed the wolf and how easily it was going to beat George too really shows how strong it really is.
Like damn we get to see the wolf destroy an heli and kill dozens of people and it can also fly but then it just dies with its head ripped off from the croc.
Already the wolf was somewhat stronger than George and it is seen as a "unstoppable" villain because it easily kills entires squads of trained military soldiers and it is defeated with ease by a croc who did not appear once until the end.
I am scared to know how really strong that thing could have become.
I love this movie ; so happy you reacted to it
I love how you referenced the princess bride 😂.
ROUS
FINALLY! Someone else shares my fear of alligators and crocodiles! Thank you Stella!! Lolol
I'm from Miami Florida and an alligator broke into my home once. I was on my way back home and it was in my kitchen chomping on the roast I was gonna have for dinner with my family. Turns out it got in through the sliding glass door that I left open like an idiot. I ran out of the house and ended up calling about it, then three specialists came over and got rid of it. Love my state.
@@imperiorii5781Only in Florida, you gotta worry about alligators breaking in your house 😂
Reptiles are weird, and taste funky…100% perfect
I'm surprised the women did not recognize Joe Mangeniello from the Magic Mike movies. I do not know many women who are not in love with those movies, LOL! I was very surprised to find out Malin Åkerman was in this movie when I first saw it. Personally, I thought she was not a good villain. She was in the movie, Watchmen. Monster movie is actually pretty vague because it could also cover zombie movies, some comic book movies, alien invader movies, vampire & werewolf movies, each of which have their own great selection of movies from which to choose. But, I'd say great monster movies that immediately come to mind are:
The Relic with Tom Sizemore (very underrated, IMO), Species with Ben Kingsley (just the 1st one), The Fly with Jeff Goldblum, Deep Blue Sea with Sam Jackson (very underrated), The Faculty with Josh Hartnett, (very underrated), Attack the Block, Cloverfield, Tremors, Gremlins, Hellboy, Lake Placid, The Howling, The Mist, Chronicle, All movies in Alien franchise, All movies in Predator franchise, The Mummy franchise with Brendan Frasier, Clash Of The Titans (1981), Leviathan, Mimic, Slither, Annihilation, The Shallows (Blake Lively), They Live (Roddy Piper), Hollowman, Lifeforce, The Island by Michael Bay, The Ghost and the Darkness, The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996), Pacific Rim movies, All the Godzilla movies modern and classics, All the modern Planet of the Ape movies (Not sure if they would they be considered "monster" movies, though??), The Tomorrow War with Chris Pratt.
This was one of my favs! Glad y’all watched
Funny thing about gorillas they don't really want to fight. Just scare you off so you don't mess with them
Good, I've been waiting for ages for someone to finally do a reaction to this movie.
This movie is based on a game called rampage the three main characters the gorilla alligator and wolf we're in the game
Yeah!!!
I loved how the corporate office has a RAMPAGE arcade game in it.
My only problem with the movie was the initial advertising.
It made it look like Dwayne Johnson was going to play George; since George was a human transformed into a giant ape.
Now that we know of Stella's fear I want to see a reaction to the movie Crawl.😅
My favorite monster movie is *THEM!* from 1954. Y'all would probably be interested in the practical effects.
*Mighty Joe Young* (both original & remake is worth a watch too.
If you can't tell I like really old movies...to y'all anyway.😂
Try watching RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (2011) Because it is so good!
I remember playing Rampage Total Destruction on the ps2 with my brother all the time.. Went and saw it in the movies with him. Amazing nostolgia ngl
I though this was a pretty good movie adaptation of a video game. The wolf is mixed with flying squirrel which is why it glides the way it does.
YES THE MEG is so good in my opinion but i love shark movie's but Godzilla is also really good all 3
Fun characters, fun monsters, makes a fun movie. Sometimes that's all you need. And this movie brings the action and the laughs. And I always love seeing it.
Excellent as always. James making the porkypine joke was hilarious. Maybe Stella wants to watch crawl if she wants to try to fight her fear of gators and crocs.
Hi Kids!
1952s The Beast From 20 Thousand Fathoms is a great movie. It's in black and white and was the inspiration for the original Godzilla.
The great stop motion animator Ray Harryhausen created the beast.
I haven't seen you kids react to really old movies yet. Maybe you will love it like I do.
Love you kids!
In the words of Archer, "My three biggest fears: alligators, crocodiles, and brain aneurisms...they can happen at any time!"
No one enjoys a relatively mindless monster movie more than me, but this is still based on a video game. In the movie, animals are turned into monsters. In the game, humans are turned into monsters. If it was humans being turned into monsters, it could potentially be more interesting. You'd have monsters with human intelligence, and the villain would inevitably become a monster as well, and a fight would ensue.
Dwayne Johnson is former military in pretty much every movie he's in to explain why he's so buff. Most guys in the types of jobs he tends to be in wouldn't be anywhere near as built. So, ex-military it is.
I LOVED the Rampage game growing up! In the game, the animals were bipedal! They each had names as well, George the gorilla, Ralph the wolf, and Lizzie the lizard. I used to love playing as Ralph, also the main evil lady, her getting eaten whilst wearing a red dress is directly from the game, you could eat a woman in a red dress in the game and if I'm not mistaken, it gave you health.
Forget the children's storybooks, this movie was, in my opinion, the only time which this George got a little TOO curious!!!!!🤨
Rampage was an arcade fighter/crusher game in the 80s. Unlike most fighting games it had 3 sets of controls so you play all 3 monsters at the same time. It could be played as either a pvp fighting game or a co-op crusher with the object being to destroy the cities buildings while cops and army were trying to gun you down. You could eat people/food to regain health, while watching out for poisonous things and explosives. You could play as George the gorilla (kong), Lizzy the lizard (godzilla) or Ralph the giant werewolf. Each of which had there own back story about how they became giant monsters.
the wolf reveal is one of the coolest scenes ever
Guys, King Kong (2005), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book (1994), Van Helsing (2004), the latter two by Stephen Sommers, director of the two first Mummy movies!
Also, The Ghost and the Darkness (1996), based on a real life story of man eating lions!
32:39 Negan will always be Negan. Lol
I highly recommend you watch the 1969 fantasy adventure THE VALLEY OF GWANGI, where cowboys discover dinosaurs in a hidden valley near a Mexican town in circa 1900. Stop motion animation effects by Ray HARRYHAUSEN
This movie is fun to watch.
It was a decent adaption from a video game
y’all NEED to watch the planet of the apes movies (the ones from 2011-2017)
I played the crap out of these games...cheered when my favorite characters popped up on screen. The agent's comments on "weirdos on the internet " was so damn funny😂
I didn't want to see this, but I walked out of the theater smiling and satisfied.
Ayyye! The Rock!
When Stella said - 41:50 to 41:55 - I felt that...
This is one of those movies that is just so much better than it has any right to be. I was not expecting much at all going into it, and ended up thoroughly enjoying it.
@29:37 MOAB stands for Mother Of All Bombs. Essentially, the last resort when wanting to avoid using a nuke.
This was actually filmed at the zoo I volunteered at years ago. I got to see the set and all but missed Dwayne Johnson because I was working behind the scenes that day.
6:15 Here you forgot to put that night time crickets sound.😂😂😂
Yeah 😂 if i was that person being offered help my a giant gorilla after all of that i would've been like uh-uh nahh 😂😂😂
Out of the three, the crocodile is my favorite.
As for what to watch, when it comes to monster movies, I recommend Legendary’s Monsterverse movies: (in the following order)
1) Godzilla (2014)
2) Kong: Skull Island + post credit scene (2017)
3) Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
4) Godzilla vs Kong (2021)
Really enjoyed watching your reactions. Looking forward to what you react to next. 😊
The wolf 🐺 was my favorite
It was way better than I expected.
great reaction as always but the voice being outta sync at the end was roughhhh
0:42 - Rampage is a game series that dates back to 80s arcades. It was inspired by what we now call 'kaiju' movies like King Kong and Godzilla. The basic concept was simple: you played one of three humans-turned-kaiju on a quest to destroy the corrupt industrial chemical manufacturer that made you monsters, Scumm Labs. You do so by RAMPAGING across the nation and destroying their facilities (and any cities that happen to be in the way). ua-cam.com/video/he-_v3NZz_A/v-deo.html
3:00 - The original Rampage game featured the three kaiju featured in this movie: George, Ralph, and Lizzie. Later generations of the game (mainly on home consoles) included new playable characters. This rat is a reference to one of several rodent characters from the games (most likely Larry from the Atari Lynx port of the original).
7:00 - I feel Haylee for being excited for a mutant gator. I feel FOR Haylee because of how disappointed she's gonna be that Lizzie is barely going to be in the movie until the very end. (Lizzie was my favorite character in the game).
9:02 - Calling out the RAMPAGE arcade cabinet in the office.
31:25 - Furious George.
32:03 - Deep-cut moment. In the game, you eat food and humans to recover HP. One of the sprites you can eat is a brunette in a red dress, just like the mad doctor here is wearing.
32:49 - In the games, most structures can take between 60 and 75% damage before they collapse.
What happened to the sound at the end?
Have they watched Pacific Rim? With this big monster movie it seems like a perfect introduction into Kaijus and what not.
I used to play the game a long time ago on the ps2 and it was hard to unlock monsters but this is my first time seeing the movie of it.
I am old enough to have played the original Rampage game. It had literally zero plot but you got to pick which monster you played of the 3 they use in the film. In a way its great because they can really build their own plot to explain the monsters.
Stella remind me of Anya Taylor Joy prlly cuz of the eyes
6:15 best 10 seconds of the video
The fact i saw this in theatres 5 yrs ago is crazy!
Probably Facts: George is the smallest due to only taking a smell, Ralph (The Wolf) probably chewed it or something, and Lizzie (The Gator) ate the whole thing, making her the biggest.
Great reactions team! This was another that my son worked on with the digital FX; makes it even more interesting to me :)
this is such a fun silly goose movie
As most movies are that are based on video games
Ya'll HAVE to watch Love & Monsters! I LOVE it.
Bruh imagine if an anaconda eats one of the pathogen
