"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." - it's kind of the theme for the whole series. Ian Malcom was right.
The problem being the theme means nothing when you retcon the series and make the dumbest continuation imaginable
It's also a meta theme about them continuing the series in general with all sequels and reboots.
@@siukong I mean I liked at least the first few seasons of camp Cretaceous
Condors. Condors are on the verge of extinction. If I were create a
Flock of condors on this island, you wouldn’t have anything to say.
The T rex in this movie is the same one from Jurassic Park!!!
So quick fact: The T-Rex in this and the next movies is the original from the first movie Jurassic Park! Rexy as fans call her was caught and brought back into captivity when Jurassic World was in development. You could see the scars from the Velociraptors she fought years ago. So make sure to cheer for her later!
ALSO, when you watch Jurassic World Dominion, I'd like to recommend the extended version! It adds new scenes and some mild context to Rexy and the antagonist to that movie. Basically they met before, but don't remember it.
I always liked to imagine they didn't capture her it was easier to build the park around her.
Basically the Giga in the prologue became the later Giga?
@@SharpmanPrime01 Ya know, I'm not quite sure of that. All I know was the Tyrannosaur in the prologue was Rexy 65 Million years ago, confirmed by Trevarrow. Don't know about the Giga but I'd like to imagine it.
@@partyleswine5155 I already do. Why not? Makes sense in context.
Yes on the extended version of Dominion!
A couple years after this movie came out, my family went out to dinner with my sister’s friend. At one point our waiter came up to us and saw my sister’s friend was wearing a Jurassic Park shirt and he told us that he was in Jurassic World as a baby Triceratops. We thought he was joking at first, but apparently he wasn’t. They bought in random people to play the baby dinosaurs.
dude that's sick!!
I didn’t care for this movie. Usually I don’t watch reactions to movies that I don’t like, but I was curious to see their reaction to this
@@nsasupporter7557what did ya think of their reactions?
@@ywmbaily they were good, they’re likable people lol
@@nsasupporter7557 agreed 🍻
I love that the T-rex in this movie, 'Rexy' is canonically the same one from the original Jurassic Park.
You could even see the scars from her fight with the Raptors at the end of the first film.
@@SeraphilmsDifferent islands though. I don't think Rexy would have swam across from Isla Nublar to Isla Sorna.
@@Seraphilms Who's "they"? Can you link us to a source for that claim?
He is. And FilmTheory means, he´s 5 now and since 2 years aduld
Nobody cares.
Fun fact, the actress was made fun of for spending all of her time in heels. But she actually took specialist classes on how to run in heels, so in a film filled with CGI dinosaurs, her running in heels was one of the few things that was actually real.
I can't believe that's a thing. No one being chased by a rex would do that lmao
Honestly in a movie full of carnivorous giant reptiles............her full sprinting on essentially needles under her feet was more terrifying to me😅
The thought of her ankle twisting at any moment had my heart racing😄
@@TomTKKit's not like the rex was running.
She's too old for this shit.😂
@@TomTKKyou gonna waste time taking them off?
@barnyardchick4equestrian19 You've seen the movie. Yes is my answer, there's a whole scene before where they're planning it and then she's stood by the door waiting for it to open.
Wasting time taking off shoes 🤣
What’s unfortunate is despite surviving, Blue is the last of her pack, and in the Jurassic franchise, Raptors are social animals. I feel bad for blue
That's probably why she stays near Owen for the rest of the movies
@@hsmorg3640 the last one left in her pack, makes sense.
Thanks to Jurassic Park 3, we finally got raptors with social structures and motivations besides murder.
@@Enthymene That’s kind of a good thing. To me raptors are the ancestors to Corvids- crows, ravens, magpies because of their intelligence and family groups. And as there have been cases showing they can mourn, remember lost chicks, and tend to stay close to each other I’d expect the raptors to be similar in behavior. The first set sure not completely like that as they were just beginning to understand their genetics but by Blue’s group bound to find the genetic codes for more ‘docile’ nature.
Well at least she has Owen and beta.
These raptors are a lot less psychotic because of their better raising compared to their predecessors of the first park. More enriching environment and not just dumping them into the park.
Apparently they also vetted them psychologically; in the first film, Muldoon mentioned that their troubles with the raptors really began when "The Big One" joined the pack, killed all but two of the others, and started attacking the fences whenever the feeders came. The opening scene when they're transferring her to a small quarantine pen? That's because they needed to do heavy repairs and fortification work on their main enclosure.
There were multiple iterations of the Jurassic World raptors and they were tested for empathy by Owen. Blue was the first raptor to pass the test and then the other three were based on her genome with slight variations. Those that failed the empathy test were immediately culled.
@@vashsunglasses yeah I believe they put a little bit of golden retriever in blues DNA. I can't remember where I saw that but I know it was an official source
@@Thoralmir I don't know where the heck you are taking that idea from. The opening scene was them transferring a new raptor to their holding pen. It might have been the big one, it might have been any other. They never specified, as there were no differentiation in between the 3 raptors in the movie.
These raptors are less psychotic is because that's how the writers for the movie made them. Everything in these whole series are written like the audience is plain stupid.
I always felt so bad for Zara, but the actress was so excited for all the stunts and for her character to go out in such an iconic way, one of the coolest kills in the franchise
I was so shock to see the bts, have you seen it? Katie McGrath is amazing!❤ Really can't believe she did it.
Fun fact: the guy that grabs the margheritas was Jimmy Buffet. Also the gun that Owen uses is the only gun on the manufactures website rated for a T-Rex
Omg, I totally forgot about the "rex" rated rifle!
I just started to say the same thing when they were laughing at him grabbing the margaritas. Why wouldn't he? It's JIMMY BUFFET IS WHY! 😂😂
@@chrisbell9075 I believe Jimmy Buffet was in the original movie, as well.
Wait, the lever-action? Or the other one that looked like a modified steyr scout?
@@Enthymene The lever-action
Fun fact the assistant lady who got eaten by the Mosasaur did the stunt, and when the camera was pushing around the boys they attached the wires fast before the camera went back on her
She is also now Lena Luthor in the supergirl series
@@dollyl5596she is also Morgana in BBC’s MERLIN!
@@dollyl5596 well if she's a Luthor, then that retrospectively gives her death a bit of a reason. 😂
And she was in Merlin as Morgana so even harder to feel sad for her death.
@@forestcatkay14 I had no idea who she was when I first watched this movie, since then I watched BBC Merlin and when I first rewatched the movie after, I was like "Holy sh*t, Morgana is in Jurassic World?!". Now her death in this is a lot sadder for me (Morgana deserved better and I'm gonna die on this hill).
Blue and her siblings are the coolest dinosaurs in this movie. And it's very heartbreaking that Blue lost her siblings in this movie.
Blue is the best. My favorite Jurassic Park character.
Blue is MVP
@@Shritistrang Jurassic world
I felt sad watching all the Dino deaths in this one :(
Yeah I felt especially bad for Charlie, she didn't seem like she wanted to hurt Owen and I think he would have had a chance to talk her down if she hadn't been blown up.
Something that you may or may not have caught (they're "blink and you'll miss them" lines) is that in "Jurassic Park" Hammond mentions that he likes to be present when the dinosaurs hatch so he can imprint on them, "It helps them to trust me." Here, Owen mentions that he imprinted on the raptors when they were born which is why he is the only one that can "control" the raptors.
Loved your reaction! CRAZY fact, the T. Rex is the exact same one from the original movie, look at her neck! She’s got healed up scars from her fight with the raptors at the end of the first film and she’s the main T.Rex over the next 2 movies! The fan base calls her Rexy! 🦖🦖
I'm a big Jurassic Park fan and I never noticed that, WOW. Love that Rexy girl!!
Which makes it mean more that she fought side by side with a raptor in this one
@@breezy3392 Rexy is truly iconic. She's been around since the beginning, and she proved how tough she is.
@@tinahastie She is in the other two sequels as well.
@@gerriejordaan8385 that's so cool! I never realised.
I could be wrong, but I think there was a theory that the raptors didn't actually immediately turn on Owen and the others after communicating with the Indominus. They were looking at Owen for approval after the Indominus communicated with them since he's their alpha, but because the other guys fired their weapons, the raptors took that as a threat and that's why they started attacking. But I don't think it's confirmed. It's just a fan theory, but I think it makes sense. Loved the reaction though!
Dang that’s an incredible theory, I love it and honestly makes a lot of sense given how they act when they see him again before the final fight
I really wish I could be as cool as Claire, running from a T Rex in heels! I've come close though.... My date and I were chased by an ostrich, and I had heels on. I swear it was like being chased by a velociraptor😂.
Can't wait to see your reactions to this! 🤗🦖
That's a fantastic story lol
@@bookworm598 haha thank you! Not as cool as the T-Rex but I'm still proud of that moment 😂
The funny thing about the "trex chase" is that rexy was just walking because she was in a tight area.
to be fair, ostriches are dinosaurs. all birds are! so you can actually say, fully honestly, that you were chased by a dinosaur.
@@HallowIsSmol haha thank you! You made my day!
For those curious her is the entire genome of the Indominous and what it did. I got it from the Jurassic wiki.
The genome of Tyrannosaurus rex was used as the base genome for the hybrid. It also gave the Indominus rex an incredibly strong bite that could crush bulletproof glass. Velociraptor DNA was added for high levels of intelligence and the ability to make plans and decisions. Giganotosaurus DNA was added for the large size of the Indominus. It was mentioned that the Indominus rex would be larger than the T. rex when fully grown. Including the shape of the head in some parts from Giganotosaurus. Abelisaur genes (Carnotaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops,[1] Pycnonemosaurus, Quilmesaurus, and Viavenator) were added to act as a biological form of armor that absorbed most of the incoming attacks. Deinosuchus DNA was used to form the crocodilian teeth of the Indominus that were used in grasping the flesh of opponents. Therizinosaurus DNA added the presence of long forelimbs with strong, slashing claws. One swipe of the hybrid's claws would take down a specific opponent. Cuttlefish genes were intended to help the Indominus withstand an accelerated growth, but it also added chromatophore cells in the skin so it could change the shape, color, and texture of its skin like a cuttlefish. Tree frog DNA was added for the Indominus to adapt to the tropical climate of Isla Nublar, but it instead added the ability for the animal to remove her thermal signature, which confused most of the heat-based infrared cameras. Lastly, pit viper snake DNA added special cavities in the skull that allowed her to see infrared, which helped her see the heat coming from her prey in dark areas.
Nobu made me laugh sooo much. Him and his Moose phobia 😂. This was a fantastic reaction guys! Thank you so much! 🦖
It's funny since in the novel, Muldoon (worried about the raptors) reminisces that Moose are always getting out of their enclosures at zoos and that most people never realize what excellent cage-breakers they are.
@@Thoralmir I never knew that. They sound a bit like our African honey badger. Although, I think the honey badger would scare a moose😂.
"A moose once bit my sister... No realli!"
Jurassic Moose
@@Thoralmir ye like you need Berlin Wall to keep a moose caged. Makes me laugh so much when americans ask If we swedes have moose chained up as guard dogs😂
Richard Attenborough, John Hammond, was going to come back to reprise his role, but passed away in 2014. A statue of Hammond can be seen in the Innovation Center, as a tribute to the man who built JURASSIC PARK.
On the official website they have little tidbits of lore. (Or had maybe, haven’t checked since this movie.) Such as all the dinos on Isla Sorna from 2 and 3 were moved to Nublar, so now just one dino island.
And Vic Hoskins team was called in to “take care” of the 3 pteranadons that flew off of Sorna at the end of 3.
I guess you're talking about the fallen kingdom website. Unfortunatly, the jurassic world one doesn't exist anymore.
Originally in JW lore, there were no second and third movie happening. They only went back on "oh, there is another island" in Dominion. Jurassic World was a huge disservice, and horrible cash-grab. The franchise should have stayed dormant forever.
This isn’t true.
Only a few were housed to Nublar. The abandoned dinosaurs on Sorna were taken by Mantah Corp and BioSyn.
@@SilkenLuna spoken like a fake fan
@@shadowx8145 Yeah. Sure. Go ahead. Call me a fake fan. That doesn't change anything.
I feel like no one gave “I would call that a wake up call, but he’s dead,” the respect it deserved lmaoo
Fun fact. Zara, the woman assigned to look after Zach and Gray did not use a stunt double for her character's death, she did the scene herself
That being said it's rather tragic what happened to her. Assigned to watch over a teen and a kid, only for them to ditch her, then gets tortured by Pteradons by being repeatedly dunked into the water before being swallowed by the Mosasaur, which isn't a nasty way to go considering that Mosasaurs have a second jaw inside their throats that they use to hold onto and tear their prey apart. All of that when she was going to be married to her fiance
Her death was the most graphic out of all the movies, I'm not sure why.
Having read the books they tamed down the deaths sooooo much, the books are way more graphic and disturbing
@@katielee7364 I'd say the most graphic on-screen death was probably Udesky from JP3. He was stabbed in the back by a raptor claw, then tortured into unconsciousness, then the raptor bit his head, twisting his neck and killing him. At least the assistant lady got eaten in one gulp.
@@AlextheHistorian It definitely ain't the most graphic, but lots of fans agree that her death was very unnecessary. She didn't deserve to be killed off.
Talk about a shitty day
@@AlextheHistoriannah eddie being made into a wishbone in lost world is the worst
Saw this in theaters with my dad a week after it premiered and it blew me away!
It has elements of the original novels, for example, the motorcycle chase was going to be in the second JURASSIC PARK movie, as it was used in the Lost World novel, then it would as going to be in the third movie, the Pterosaurs attacking the tourists was based on the first novel as Grant and the kids encounter the Pterosaurs in the aviary, as well as the Helicopter being attacked was originally going to be the third films climax, the Indominus Rex camouflaging was based on the second novel, with a Carnotaurus given cuttlefish genes to blend into the environment, the dying Apatosaurus(Brontosaurus) is an homage to the first film, with the sick Triceratops, and the innovation center was based on the original Visitor's Center.
The film was a box office success, making $1.6 billion dollars against $150 million dollar budget.
My favourite scene in this movie is when Blue looks to Eoin, basically asking him if her siblings are alive and him shaking his head no so gently and you see her understand him and react to him. It just shows, truly how much of a bond he has with the raptors, specifically with blue
Looks at who?
@@en4833 owen
That was a fan theory. 1 that makes more sense is that she was waiting for an order from her Alpha which was Owen, she's ready to roll with him but she can't coz obviously she can't be around other people.
@@ColvyMolvy That makes less sense. Why would other people being there stop her from obeying Owen?
@@en4833 It's not that she'll stop obeying, it's that the fact of being around the others. She's technically still a danger to him too as she does snap at him, so its fair to assume that she would be a danger to them too and Owen apparently being the only sensible one (up until using the Raptors in the first place but not his fault) wouldn't put others in that kind of predicament.

As someone who's favorite movie of all time is Jurassic Park, I love Jurassic World. It's not perfect, but wow, actually seeing the park fully functioning was dream come true.
Do you accept this movie as part of the franchise??
Honestly, I like it better than the second and third, even if it doesn't compare to the original. The next two films are a bit iffy, though.
I accept it for expanding the lore, but after TLW the franchise just went downhill in terms of story. The CGI and animatronics get better though.
It was the first one I saw (on a school trip to cinema actually xD) and I loved it so much! It introduced me to the series. I def think the second and third one are weaker then the first series. Spoilers down:
Especially because I can't imagine ending of the second one to ever be true, it's silly. People would not just accept the dinos back on earth, the authorities would catch and kill them so fast xD
I love it. Of course, the original will always be the best, but I really like the Jurassic World’s continuation of the story, the humor, the debate of morality, etc. I’m definitely looking forward to all your reactions to it! I love the multiple perspectives you each bring.
Absolutely! Jurassic World is my second favorite film in the franchise right after Jurassic Park and I enjoy watching all the films. I think Jurassic Park set such a high standard that even good films like it's sequels don't really compare, causing a lot of "hate" for simply not being as good or better than the og, even when they aren't even bad.
Stella came to the similar conclusion I did regarding casualties. Before seeing Jurassic World in theaters, I made a point to learn the names of every character from the previous films that dies on screen. I was able to do that because they all had names and their deaths were meaningful. In this movie, so many more people died and most of them were nameless NPCs.
director want more casualties because they reopen the park again. they never learned from experienced. that's why when they close the park in fallen kingdom, it's actually fresh for the story they going although people hate it because of second half of the movie no longer about dinasour but clone kid
Even all those casualtiers in San Diego?
The T.Rex you see in the movie is the same one from 1993, complete with the scars from her battle with the Raptors. Fans have called her Rexy.
Rexy is like the official name. Idk if it was because of fans calling her rexy or if they named her rexy first
ALSO KNOWN AS ROBERTA
Owen had a bond with the Raptors because he raised them from when they were born and that's why they saw him as part of the pack or at least respected him, they touch on it briefly in the next movie
yeah he imprinted on them, didn't he? or was it them that imprinted on him. but either way, he made sure to establish a bond with each one of them. but he did have help. his friend had a special relationship with delta, like how owen has one with blue. charlie and delta got the worst deaths. charlie got blown up and delta was thrown into a burning grill. T - T
Another fun fact: Bryce Dallas Howard performed the runs in high heels through almost three feet of mud, which she described as "one of the hardest things [she's] ever had to do".
Fun fact: the ruins Zach and Gray were in during that one scene was actually Jurassic Park from the 1st film!
Did you know if you look closely you can see scars on the t-rex? This isn't any normal t-rex
This is the t-rex from the first movie
I was so hyped to see this movie when it came out. When the original Jurassic Park theme song started playing I started crying in the theater, the nostalgia wave hit me in full force.
I waited for this movie, through development hell when they had a concept around 2005 or 6, to its complete revamping over the next ten years to them finally shooting and releasing it. I waited FIFTEEN YEARS for this movie and it was well worth it for me. The fresh new look, the nostalgia callbacks, the actors, the genre shift from horror to action/adventure, I adore it. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.
Fun fact: the T-Rex in this movie is actually from the original movie
Remember, all the dinosaurs are female, not a single male there, unless this was Isla Sorna
Fun Fact: The little kid that was hugging the baby Apatosaurus in the petting zoo scene is actually Bryce Dallas Howard's son.
The clicker Owen uses with the raptors, mimics the nail clicking that is heard on those dinosaurs.
The oufit Claire wears in the movie was supposed to be a statement about women being able to do a regular working day wearing heels. I'm not sure, there was an interview with Chris and Bryce and explaining everything.
I love the "Soldiers get picked off one by one by monsters, while other characters watch the whole ordeal unfold on TV monitors" trope. I think it was started by 'Aliens'.
Jurassic World is my favorite movie of all time, so it’s nice to see you guys cover it!
Gotta love that she's directly responsible for a lot of innocent people losing their lives and she gets the nice kiss moment while they are dying lol.
There needs to be a character with actual PTSD from their experiences. Everybody is just way too cool after each movie.
@@LakeVermilionDreams yasmina in camp cretaceous
Something I realized, Jurassic World actually worked. It was the Indominus that ended up ruining it all. Also, no matter how many times I see Rexy and Blue fighting the Indominus, it gives me frickin' chills, I just wanna jump out of my seat. Say what you will about the movie, but if anything, they really knew how to make that particular scene epic.
Actually, the kiss is at exactly the right time, as it is a known psychological reaction to surviving a near-death experience.
RIP to Irrfan Khan ( Misrani ) , you guys probably recognize him from Life of Pi, Slumdog Millionaire and Spiderman, he was a big Bollywood actor too.
I love how you can see the battle scars on Rexy's skin in this movie.
I love the four of you as a team! You work so well together. 👍 And Haley... your face at 16:49 when the Mosasaur leaps up to grab the shark! 😲 Finally: Tostito-don! 🤣
Fun fact, the kiss between Claire and Owen was improvised in this movie. The only scripted one between them was in Dominion. It really does not fit and I so badly wish they had cut it lol.
Maybe not for a reaction, but I'd strongly recommend you guys watch Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous because it IS canon and ties into the movies, and it's also the best Jurassic World material in existence. The first three seasons especially, it's exactly what you want from the franchise.
right?! that kiss was so badly placed 🤣
Having grown up on the first 3, but never having seen any of them in theaters originally (till Jurassic Park had a rerelease), seeing this one in theaters was AMAZING! The goosebumps that covered my entire body when the theme played when the boys looked out at the park from their hotel room! Just chills! & all the Easter eggs from the first film that they included as bits of nostalgia, it showed the first films so much respect in my opinion, & honestly I just love it! Great reaction & I can’t wait to see y’all react to the rest.
Side note, Stella’s makeup/whole look is giving such vibes!
the scene with wu in the lab talking about the indominus is for me, enough to justify making this whole movie. That scene was PEAK and has a placement in IRL paleontology with people caring more about trex killing herbivores then what scientists actually care about to put it simply
Not only is he Wilson Fisk, but he was also the Edgar bug from Men In Black as well. But that was a great catch from just his voice, girl.
I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It felt like it was trying to pay homage to the original story, but making it more modern. The idea of the Indo-Rex has some very loose ties to the books too. In the books, they discussed about modifying the dinosaur's DNA to make them more lively. The original batches of dinos were slow and lethargic, so their DNA was pumped up with more aggressive reptiles. They were creating movie monsters, not dinosaurs. It fits well with the plot here.
It didn't pay homage, it crapped out and bastardized the whole message of the original (book and film).
ALso you have it backward. Wu was concerned in the book because they were too lively, aggressive and active and tried to convince Hammond to sign off on making animals the public were expecting: slow, dim-witted, reptilian animals. That also worked in making them easier to manage but Hammond hated the idea, he wanted the 'real' thing and shot down Wu's suggestion.
If you guys thought the Indominus Rex was bad... wait until you see the Indoraptor.

@@Itachilover3450 next thing you know we will have a dodopius Rex

Next concept probably gonna be
Space rex..
Surprisingly Gray and Zach were the characters I was the most invested in. Owen and Claire were cool too but I always liked the idea of two teenagers having to survive in such deathly situations only with their wits and determination and leaning on their love for each other. It reminded me of the sibling dynamic of the first Jurassic Park. I also really like Nick Robinson so there's that.
Are you kidding? They were the worst written characters in this whole movie. Was Gray autistic? Because they wrote him somewhat autistic, but without the special needs for someone with autism. Was he a child prodigy? Because for being prodigy smart at times, he did ask dumb questions out of nowhere. And Zach was written as a typical self centered teen only living for his phone and WiFi connection.

24:03 "aww his dinos." 🤣🤣🤣
that really cut the tension
I was so happy to see Rexy back from the first movie she's an old girl but shes still my favourite Tyrannosurus Rex.
I remember watching this in the theater and a girl behind me was so scared for the kids when they entered the jungle. She was saying “Are those kids going to die!?” And being the asshole I was turned to face her with the biggest grin and said “They sure are, I heard it was brutal!”
BEST MOVIE EVER!! The battle fight for the Indominus Rex and the T-Rex is so epic! 54:08 I was surprisingly shocked when the mosasaurus just pops up, takes the Indominus Rex over and finishes the battle when I saw this movie in theaters when it came out! What an amazing finish right there! I just love it! 😁
I don’t know if anyone mentioned it already, but since the producers got so many big name brand names to appear in the film, naturally they had a Margaritaville on Main Street. It’s owner Jimmy Buffett was the man running away with two margaritas during the pterodactyl bombardment.
I'm so excited to see you guys reacting to these ones now!! I'm still watching, but will you guys consider watching the animated series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous? It takes place during the Jurassic World trilogy and while it might appear to be for kids, it's amazing and worth a watch too!!
I was just thinking the same thing! It'd be awesome if they watched Camp Cretaceous
It would be awesome to see their reaction to Camp Cretaceous! I love the way it links to this movie and it's an amazing show by itself!
I waited 14 YEARS for this movie to come out. Every couple years or so, there'd be news about a "Jurassic Park 4", but then it'd go quiet for a couple more years. But when it finally came out, it was such a gift!
This was one of the best times Ive ever had at the movie theater. When I first saw this in theaters, I smiled ear to ear when Rexy smashed through the skeleton! And I remember screaming "OH MY GOD!!!" when the Mosasaurus jumped out of the tank and killed the Indominus Rex! I'll never forget that!
The raptors in Owen's pack are all female but each with different personalities. Blue is by far the kindest and sweetest of them all, Charlie is the baby of the family, Delta is the most aggressive and volatile, and Echo is the most balanced in a sense. Fun fact, Blue only acted aggressive to Owen in the cage because Delta would have killed Owen if she wasn't on board with mutiny of the alpha
54:23 Rexy’s actually saying “Thank you” to Blue for helping her.
I'm so glad you're watching them all. Just remember before you watch the last movie, you need to watch Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous as the show is a tie-in and the last season takes place before the last movie directly. It's really good and the animation is gorgeous.
If memory serves, there is a reason the Indo-Rex is so intelligent. There was an abandoned plot point that one of the animals mixed in was...
human.
Also, while it is played a little as a did at Claire, Owen is right about it being a relationship with the raptors. You can never fully tame a pure predator. You can form an agreement, a relationship with it. But the second you give the animal an opening, it will pounce. That's why I have a problem with the scene where Owen keeps the pack at bay to get the worker out. When he turns, tucks, and rolls out of the gate, he made himself prey. I guess he was able to reestablish the lease position, but the respect is damaged.
I love how World truly embraces the concepts of hybridization and gene-editing. After the first, it's arguably the JP film most faithful to Crichton's original novels due its focus on man playing god, manmade monsters, with an antagonist who embodies these concepts.
4:27 Something y’all completely missed, the black haired woman behind the kids was reading Ian Malcolm’s book
Fun fact: the T-Rex in this movie is Rexy, the same one from the first movie
Richard Attenborough who played John Hammond passed away in 2014, Jurassic world came out in 2015
The only people I remember seeing dying on screen were park employees. Only the pterodactyls attacked the guests, and they struggled to carry people off.
i thought that was weird that they struggled with the people. The Haas Eagle, of New Zealand, went extinct right after the fall of the British Empire. It would carry away a 500lb Cossary (ostrich-like bird) with ease....and that was it's main food source. If the Haas Eagle could lift 500lbs, then a pterodactyl should be able to lift people with ease. They lifted Grant's little buddy with ease in JP-3
@@slchance8839so yeah in movie we see pteranodons (in Jp3 it was the same case), there were the bigest flaying dinos and they look big, like in movie, bc they were really big but they were not really heavy, like they had big wings but wings were not stong, hmm it is know from the look of thier skeletons that the evolution of wings wasen't that great yet, so that big wings were there so they could glide for very long time, they didn't actually flap a lot bc they didn't had power for it, (not yet developed strong muscels to move wings a lot), and they were light do they could glide for long time, big but real waight was like medium dog, in movie of course they do flap, efects for public, and they could pick up grown up human but not really fly with them in long term bc they didn't had a power, but kids ale different thing and in JP3 they did lift kid and glided to nest, so it wasen't really that wrong, expect flap of wings, so in this movie they actually lift people and go down with them or let them go, bc they couldn't really fly with them, pteranodons were more like sea bird like they would pick food from water and eat still gliding, so it fit in movie that they would pick people but they simply were to large of diner.
And yeah there are birds that can pick like 3x thier waight but evolution of birds wing let them do it, like they are made stronger, like muscels, bons and most important feathers, this is the biggest difference pteranodons are still reptiales in sens that between wings bons they had hard skin and that's all, so fosils show that there wasen't any reinforcement on this membrane, think more of bat, even tho dinos and birds are geneticaly closer it looked more like bat wings. The animal that is the most close that you can look up to image how it was is flaying dragon.
So if we look at this pteranodon lifting grow up human he literally lifts like 3x of his mass or more, but isn't strong enought to fly with it, so it is like eagal in that sens, but also eagal are predators that kill pray and then lift it to take to nest. And like I said before pteranodons were more like water birds, didn't really fight with pray, they didn't really hunt but take what was "at hand", so pick up pray that still lives and try to fight back and move isn't helping here.
So I would say it wasen't really that stange if you go into build of pteranodons, and nie if I remember coreclly harpy eagal is they stronger bird now but still it is more about the power he has in talons that can kill big pray, then he have to lift it and he can lift around 5x his body mass all.
Like humans we usually have problem with lifting a larger person then we are so there is not fair to say that pteranodons bc they had wings should lift 3 of theirs waight, bc they were big scary and agresive (in movies) it dosen't mean they were really that strong... Hehe🤔😉
@@magdalenagabrowska8169 man, you make strong, valid points. Something that was missing in the movies was the dive-bomb BEHAVIOR of the birds. Most predatory birds who lift heavier animals do so by
1.folding their wings from an altitude of MILES up (hawklike vision) and dive bombing the target
2.grabbing the neck and back/spine
3.flairing their wings at the apex (lowest point on the curve)
4.then pulling up.
The falling speed + the lift from flared wings get's them off back in the air with tremendous power and lift.
The ABRUPT change in direction for the target animal will break their neck or back, paralyzing them.
If the backbreak doesnt work, the bird will feel them struggling, then.....right when the kinetic energy starts to taper (and they are have altitude)....they DROP the animal, let the fall kill the victim, then repeat the dive-bomb process to pick up a dead carcass from the ground.
I saw a local hawk do this to a squirrel when I was in college. I happened so fast, it was just a flash of color and a bouncing acorn. No sound. Just an unheard "what th-?"
JP would have been awesome if people just vanished in a flash of pterosaur and all you see is a dot of person being carried away. Maybe even hear their neck break and see their dead eyes.
But we have to take into consideration of the mass panic as well, how many people got stampeded by other humans? Not that they showed it on screen. Or those who fell to their deaths trying to escape but not looking were they were going. (Or ran into other dinos protecting them selves, as the reactors said, moose are scary)
@@Cantmakeupmymindonaname yeah but it is totally different aspect then death by dino that we were talking, hmm but I agree that in real situation there would be more hurt people then we ever think, but also we don't know bc they didn't show anything and talked about it really do maybe they did do people WHO are in to happy endings go and think it all was good emding and for people that think a lot or more realistic they left it blank for thier imagination. Stampedos are scary ah... You can really do nothing in situation like this, only go with people. And in bad situation do a turtle and hope...
Fun fact the netflix series camp Camp cretacius takes place during and in between the next two movies with kids marooned on the island after the evacuation
The motorcycle raptor scene came originally from the second novel The Lost world. It was supposed to be in the second movie but scraped it for other scenes. And the helicopter vs flying dinosaurs scene was supposed to be final fight of the third movie.
And the Trex in the movie is the same from the first movie, named Rexy.
helicopter vs the flying reptiles was the original climax of the 2nd film, not the third. they even took directly from those storyboards by having a pterosaur smash through the glass to stab one of the pilots.
also the rex is named Roberta.
@@scottb3034 I didn’t know that, this is the first time I heard the name Roberta. And the helicopter scene I know it was in one of the many scriptes for the third movie, maybe it originated from the second and was supposed to be reused in the third. I mean there was a script that involved human dinosaurs hybrids so at this point anything is possible.
My sources came from Klayton Fioriti, who tell and breakdown many of the most and the less known cut scenes and content we never got to see from jurassic Park.
@@TheBestPirateDrake Roberta is what the crew named it in the first movie. And it is a little bit more original (and fitting since the dinosaur is female and "rex/rexy" is a male name) imo.
The 2nd movie is where the idea originated but to be fair, I think they did plan a pterosaur/raptor fight at the end...before changing it to raptor vs spinosaur....before changing it again. That is the theme of the 3rd one...change. they changed the script about 50 times before just winging it.
Yeah I know who Klayton is. I used to work with Universal and some other people on a Jurassic Park encyclopedia about 15-10 years ago...Started around 2008 and I stopped contributing in 2014 or 15.
But the storyboards are on the original TLW DVD so that was accessible to everyone.
Oh also the dude from daredevil was also the farmer turned into the roach alien in men in black :)
Guysss did you know that T - Rex was the same one from the first film. You can actually see the scars it got from fighting the raptors in the end of the first film.
I saw this in the cinema. When T Rex came out, i clapped and cheered. I was not the only one there who did either. It was so exciting and i loved it
“Yeah it’s all Ooh and Aah at first, then there’s the running, and the screaming.”
I personally like Jurassic World. To me it was a breath of fresh air watching this film after the Jurassic films went on a long hiatus after JP3. The new characters were good, the dinosaurs (new raptors included) were awesome, as usual, and the Indominus Rex was amazingly terrifying. While being a new change of pace for the franchise, it’s cool that there are tie-ins to the previous JP films and that’s what I like about JW. Great reaction guys!
To me, it was just another unnecessary sequel and/or reboot.
@@nsasupporter7557 i think universal just want to hold this IP, yes it's unnecessary but sometime people just want to close their brain and watch it as long as this movie give them thrilled.
for me if they want to create a reboot in future, they need to stick to books. it's actually survival horror and not action thriller
@@nsasupporter7557 And a bad one at that.
@@boboboy8189 Universal doesn't really have rights issues because Crichton's ex-wife is on extremely good terms with Spielberg, thus Universal. The reason they did it is because they have a lack of bankable tentpole film franchises. They have JP, Fast and the Furious and Minions/Despicable Me...that's why you see them milking those franchises long after the cow moo'd uncle. They aren't nearly as IP rich as WB nor Disney/Fox...only Paramount and Columbia are in worse shape regarding IPs.
Agreed. I love this movie. Third fave in the franchise after 1 and 2.
I don't know if anyone else has said this already, but the guy running away with the margaritas was Jimmy Buffett--also why there is a Margaritaville in the park
Fun fact: the kiss wasn't scripted, the director told him to do it without telling her
A respectable continuation that never reaches the height of the first movie, but still delivers on the same moral that drives the whole series. I still have a lot of fun on rewatches of this movie.
Before Chris Pratt was cast as Owen Grady, Armie Hammer, David Boreanaz, Dwayne Johnson, Henry Cavill, Jason Statham, John Krasinski and Josh Brolin were considered for the part.
Kristen Stewart, Drew Barrymore, and Kristen Wiig were considered for the role of Claire Dearing.
Jack Black was considered to play the villainous Vic Hoskins but Vincent D'Onofrio was cast as he bore a striking resemblance to Orson Welles.
Wait, Jack Black was set to be Vic Hoskins, is this true?!?
Not complaining, but the majority of the Live-Action films Jack Black has been in were mainly comedies and that’s where I associate him in these films, granted he was in the 2005 King Kong film as Carl Denham and that was his most dramatic and serious role to date.
Vincent D'Onofrio PLAYED Orson Welles in Ed Wood..
@@EChacon A lot of these 'facts' are barely accurate. Jack Black was probably not seriously considered. In fact a lot of these actors weren't.
He pasted similar stuff on the Jurassic Park video that was all out of wack and pretty much inaccurate as well.
Also Jack was a dramatic actor before he broke into comedy. One of his first major films was the quite serious Will Smith film Enemy of the State. Also things like Airborne (although he played that one a little comically), Demolition Man, Waterworld, the Jackal, Cradle Will Rock, the Fan, etc.
It wasn't until the 2000s that Black was a major comedic actor beginning with Shallow Hal, Saving Silverman and School of Rock.
@@scottb3034 I never was agreeing with that he guy and secondly since I was born in the mid-late 1990’s as are some of the folks, most of us associate Jack Black through his comedy films such as "School of Rock", etc. instead of his dramatic films. So can you blame me and a few others for not knowing?!?!
@@EChacon i didn't say you were agreeing, it's called informing.
I mean....the movies I mentioned weren't exactly small films. In fact pretty much all of them except Airborne were bigger than Shallow Hal and Saving Silverman and arguably as big as School of Rock. But I'll give a pass because of your age and the fact that while he was in those movies most of them were in support, smaller roles rather than starring like he did in Shallow Hal and SoR.
Also now you are shifting the goalposts fully to "this is what associate him with" from your original statements of "majority of Jack Black's live-action films are comedies" & "King Kong was his most dramatic and serious role to date" which you stated in a factual way (despite not being factual).
But therein lies the lesson about making sweeping, hyperbolic comments like those two.
Either way, this is not a big deal, I was just informing. Don't need to be all that defensive.
The man running with the two margaritas is Jimmy Buffett who founded Margaritaville.
in case you decide to watch the 3rd one call Jurassic world dominion, you have to add the prologue to the beginning of the video reaction, it's only like 7 minutes long and i'ts free on youtube, it's canon and directly connected to the 3rd movie even though it's not feature in the actual movie
there's extended cut for dominion blu-ray and DVD but weird things is it's still lacking that UA-cam scene.
Didn't expect to see David Wallace in the first 5 minutes!
This is definitely the best of the World trilogy. I like the big bad, the raptors are really cool and most of the characters are really well acted. I feel so bad for the nanny that was assigned to watch the boys. She was just trying to do her job and she really got screwed over. I hope you consider watching the Netflix series Camp Cretaceous. It is "a kid show" but it's also very much for fans of the show and adults in general and I would strongly suggest watching it. It fills in some of the lore about what happens on the island after Jurassic World tanks. It's a really well done show.
I feel like the casualties go way up in this one because the park was actually never opened to the public in the old trilogy. The change certainly makes the plot direction a bit different from the other ones, though. I really enjoyed how they built up the wonder aspects of the theme park in the first half of the movie, In the second half where things went wrong I have more mixed feelings, though the climactic final fight scene between the Indominus and the T. rex was one of the best sequences in the 2010s monster movies. I also really liked how they put in a lot of references to the first Jurassic Park movie, the nostalgia is exactly what I thought was needed for a sequel like this.
I love your reactions to Chris Pratt! I also love your moose conversation!😁🤣
Jimmy buffet was the guy at the end carrying the two margaritas! What a cameo lol.
I was starting to worry that no one was going to mention this. 😁
I seriously didn’t thought I’ll like this movie just the same way I wasn’t as fascinated with Force Awakens in Star Wars franchise. However the lore and characters were really likeable in this movie. The dinosaurs were really great especially Mosasaurs. I also liked Indominus Rex, even in Jurassic Park movies I always wondered what would happen if they’ll ever create a genetically modified hybrid and surely Indominus Rex didn’t disappoint.
23:15 there's a clip that shows the one who got killed was the commander. Since he died, everyone over there didn't know what to do next.
The crazy thing is, the park had been open for an entire decade, as it had opened in 2005 and Claire was hired in 2004.
It’s funny to think that Clair is actually younger than Lex from the first movie lol
which is an insult to Jurassic Park's message.
@@scottb3034 Exactly.
Fun fact: if you didnt know the T rex shown in this movie was the same T rex shown in the first Jurassic park movie and she is the same in other two movies too so thats the OG rex.....

20:33 Yeah, but James, If the pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists!
I love The ending with Rexie roaring after she has reclaimed her kingdom!🤣
A fun bit of trivia. The guy who was running with the margaritas during the pteranodon attack is the famous singer Jimmy Buffett. He sings the famous song, “Margaritaville.” lol
Just a fun fact the Rex in this movie aka Rexy is the original Rex from Jurassic park
Don’t know if you were aware, the man grabbing the margaritas when the pterodactyls attack is Jimmy Buffet, singer of Margaritaville and owner of the chain of restaurants.
honestly this is my favorite out of all the movies. im really loving your reaction of it too!
