"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." - it's kind of the theme for the whole series. Ian Malcom was right.

So quick fact: The T-Rex in this and the next movies is the original from the first movie Jurassic Park! Rexy as fans call her was caught and brought back into captivity when Jurassic World was in development. You could see the scars from the Velociraptors she fought years ago. So make sure to cheer for her later!
ALSO, when you watch Jurassic World Dominion, I'd like to recommend the extended version! It adds new scenes and some mild context to Rexy and the antagonist to that movie. Basically they met before, but don't remember it.

A couple years after this movie came out, my family went out to dinner with my sister’s friend. At one point our waiter came up to us and saw my sister’s friend was wearing a Jurassic Park shirt and he told us that he was in Jurassic World as a baby Triceratops. We thought he was joking at first, but apparently he wasn’t. They bought in random people to play the baby dinosaurs.

And as there have been cases showing they can mourn, remember lost chicks, and tend to stay close to each other I’d expect the raptors to be similar in behavior. The first set sure not completely like that as they were just beginning to understand their genetics but by Blue’s group bound to find the genetic codes for more ‘docile’ nature.

Apparently they also vetted them psychologically; in the first film, Muldoon mentioned that their troubles with the raptors really began when "The Big One" joined the pack, killed all but two of the others, and started attacking the fences whenever the feeders came. The opening scene when they're transferring her to a small quarantine pen? That's because they needed to do heavy repairs and fortification work on their main enclosure.

For those curious her is the entire genome of the Indominous and what it did. I got it from the Jurassic wiki.
The genome of Tyrannosaurus rex was used as the base genome for the hybrid. It also gave the Indominus rex an incredibly strong bite that could crush bulletproof glass. Velociraptor DNA was added for high levels of intelligence and the ability to make plans and decisions. Giganotosaurus DNA was added for the large size of the Indominus. It was mentioned that the Indominus rex would be larger than the T. rex when fully grown. Including the shape of the head in some parts from Giganotosaurus. Abelisaur genes (Carnotaurus, Majungasaurus, Rugops,[1] Pycnonemosaurus, Quilmesaurus, and Viavenator) were added to act as a biological form of armor that absorbed most of the incoming attacks. Deinosuchus DNA was used to form the crocodilian teeth of the Indominus that were used in grasping the flesh of opponents. Therizinosaurus DNA added the presence of long forelimbs with strong, slashing claws. One swipe of the hybrid's claws would take down a specific opponent. Cuttlefish genes were intended to help the Indominus withstand an accelerated growth, but it also added chromatophore cells in the skin so it could change the shape, color, and texture of its skin like a cuttlefish. Tree frog DNA was added for the Indominus to adapt to the tropical climate of Isla Nublar, but it instead added the ability for the animal to remove her thermal signature, which confused most of the heat-based infrared cameras. Lastly, pit viper snake DNA added special cavities in the skull that allowed her to see infrared, which helped her see the heat coming from her prey in dark areas.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It felt like it was trying to pay homage to the original story, but making it more modern. The idea of the Indo-Rex has some very loose ties to the books too. In the books, they discussed about modifying the dinosaur's DNA to make them more lively. The original batches of dinos were slow and lethargic, so their DNA was pumped up with more aggressive reptiles. They were creating movie monsters, not dinosaurs. It fits well with the plot here.

Wu was concerned in the book because they were too lively, aggressive and active and tried to convince Hammond to sign off on making animals the public were expecting: slow, dim-witted, reptilian animals. That also worked in making them easier to manage but Hammond hated the idea, he wanted the 'real' thing and shot down Wu's suggestion.

If memory serves, there is a reason the Indo-Rex is so intelligent. There was an abandoned plot point that one of the animals mixed in was...
    human.
Also, while it is played a little as a did at Claire, Owen is right about it being a relationship with the raptors. You can never fully tame a pure predator. You can form an agreement, a relationship with it. But the second you give the animal an opening, it will pounce. That's why I have a problem with the scene where Owen keeps the pack at bay to get the worker out. When he turns, tucks, and rolls out of the gate, he made himself prey. I guess he was able to reestablish the lease position, but the respect is damaged.

If the Haas Eagle could lift 500lbs, then a pterodactyl should be able to lift people with ease. They lifted Grant's little buddy with ease in JP-3

@@slchance8839so yeah in movie we see pteranodons (in Jp3 it was the same case), there were the bigest flaying dinos and they look big, like in movie, bc they were really big but they were not really heavy, like they had big wings but wings were not stong, hmm it is know from the look of thier skeletons that the evolution of wings wasen't that great yet, so that big wings were there so they could glide for very long time, they didn't actually flap a lot bc they didn't had power for it, (not yet developed strong muscels to move wings a lot), and they were light do they could glide for long time, big but real waight was like medium dog, in movie of course they do flap, efects for public, and they could pick up grown up human but not really fly with them in long term bc they didn't had a power, but kids ale different thing and in JP3 they did lift kid and glided to nest, so it wasen't really that wrong, expect flap of wings, so in this movie they actually lift people and go down with them or let them go, bc they couldn't really fly with them, pteranodons were more like sea bird like they would pick food from water and eat still gliding, so it fit in movie that they would pick people but they simply were to large of diner.
And yeah there are birds that can pick like 3x thier waight but evolution of birds wing let them do it, like they are made stronger, like muscels, bons and most important feathers, this is the biggest difference pteranodons are still reptiales in sens that between wings bons they had hard skin and that's all, so fosils show that there wasen't any reinforcement on this membrane, think more of bat, even tho dinos and birds are geneticaly closer it looked more like bat wings. The animal that is the most close that you can look up to image how it was is flaying dragon.
So if we look at this pteranodon lifting grow up human he literally lifts like 3x of his mass or more, but isn't strong enought to fly with it, so it is like eagal in that sens, but also eagal are predators that kill pray and then lift it to take to nest. And like I said before pteranodons were more like water birds, didn't really fight with pray, they didn't really hunt but take what was "at hand", so pick up pray that still lives and try to fight back and move isn't helping here.
So I would say it wasen't really that stange if you go into build of pteranodons, and nie if I remember coreclly harpy eagal is they stronger bird now but still it is more about the power he has in talons that can kill big pray, then he have to lift it and he can lift around 5x his body mass all.
Like humans we usually have problem with lifting a larger person then we are so there is not fair to say that pteranodons bc they had wings should lift 3 of theirs waight, bc they were big scary and agresive (in movies) it dosen't mean they were really that strong... Hehe🤔😉

      @slchance8839 Рік тому

@@magdalenagabrowska8169 man, you make strong, valid points. Something that was missing in the movies was the dive-bomb BEHAVIOR of the birds. Most predatory birds who lift heavier animals do so by
1.folding their wings from an altitude of MILES up (hawklike vision) and dive bombing the target
      2.grabbing the neck and back/spine
3.flairing their wings at the apex (lowest point on the curve)
      4.then pulling up.
The falling speed + the lift from flared wings get's them off back in the air with tremendous power and lift.
The ABRUPT change in direction for the target animal will break their neck or back, paralyzing them.
If the backbreak doesnt work, the bird will feel them struggling, then.....right when the kinetic energy starts to taper (and they are have altitude)....they DROP the animal, let the fall kill the victim, then repeat the dive-bomb process to pick up a dead carcass from the ground.
I saw a local hawk do this to a squirrel when I was in college. I happened so fast, it was just a flash of color and a bouncing acorn. No sound. Just an unheard "what th-?"
JP would have been awesome if people just vanished in a flash of pterosaur and all you see is a dot of person being carried away. Maybe even hear their neck break and see their dead eyes.
