I recently got the 320 and use it with a podium hub and endurance button module. love it

I got the 305mm and found it too narrow for my big hands.I ended up adding racket tape to the grips to fatten then up.Now I love it.

They also work with the Fanatec Porsche button module, they are one of the few rims that will fit without interfering with the buttons. If you want a formula style rim for the Fanatec Porsche button module then this is a good one.

Have you tried the R305 with the Porsche endurance module, or the R320?

I have the R305 with the Ascher Racing B24L-SC and I love the combination! Three things I did to make it perfect for me : 1) switched the GT style shifter plates to the formula style ones 2) used 5mm spacers on the shifter plates to make some more room for my fingers and 3) moved the shifters to the inward position. I love the fact I don't have to worry about Alcantara/suede, and I'm using it with cheap gloves. Highly recommend.

I have bought the Sparco P310 open alacantara, and I have replaced by a professionnal the alcantara by leather, so perfect, far more better than Turn quality

I have the 305 on a simcore box and it’s amazing, I can race for hours without any slip or wrist pain, it’s really good

Are you still happy with it? I think these rims and their button boxes are the best value for the money tbh for my simucube pro 2

@@kaijuh I love it. I have it attached to a simcore button box though but I would imagine the difference will be minimal

I love my R320, if I just want a quick 30 minute to 1 hour blast for fun, I can use it without gloves and not worry about ruining the grip. Whereas, when I want to do some serious practice or do a competitive race, it grips up well with my sim gloves and the grip shape is very comfortable over several hours (for my average sized hands)

I got the R305 with the Turn Racing button plate last December and awesome product. I also have the 'old' Ascher button plate in medium size you are using and IMO the Turn button plate has the better button-click feedback with the most solid 7-way-switches and dials I know. I had a cable break with the Ascher just before I bought the Turn and Martin send me a new cable after the Turn stuff arrived free of charge, even I was years out of warranty. Also the Ascher formula wheels are top notch with much improved buttons compare to the old button plates and it delivers still the most direct FFB due to it's super stiff aluminium housing that also seems to amplify effects. The R305 seems stiffer than my OMP Kubic and nothing to complain, it's just that this concept feels more dampened than the Ascher-wheels. I'm still using the Turn more often than the Ascher because the shape is better for all kinds of cars (minus drift-cars) that need more wheel-rotation.

I bought an R320 after watching your review and I have used it with the Fanatec endurance button module for a few days, it's indeed a great wheel rim! The best part aside from quality and everything you've covered in the review is that it doesn't block any view so I can see the dashboard better!
But I do have one complaint: because its upper half is completely open, when turning the wheel, one of my hands has to solely rely on the grip strength, whereas with other GT/formula wheels such as the Fanatec Formula V2.5, I can use the outer side of my thumb to push the wheel. I didn't even realize this until I started using R320. I was using the Fanatec Porsche rim, and I could use my ring finger to push the wheel as it rests just under the joint, which is not possible with R320 because the grip diameter is way larger. Maybe my hands' grip strength is just weak and I need to work on it, lol.

Another great review! May I go off topic and ask you about your FOV? Not here to judge. Have I noticed it's a little bit off? Cheers

I prefer this material over the Alcantara. I always feel like I will wear out the Alcantara even with gloves.

    • @versedi

Alcantara doesnt wear out. It gets muggled inside. Just a bit of work with a brush and its back to new even without gloves.

    • @Leynad778

I've watched some Alcantara maintenance videos and it's advised to clean and brush it regularly. Suede certainly looks and feels worn withing months and if you clean and brush it too late, most of it's initial look and feel is lost. Alcantara might perform better I guess, but these rubber type feels fine and I'm lazy.

Hey, speaking of gloves can you recommended cheap ones for the g29? I want to keep it clean and in good condition to sell it later and after long sessions it hurts between both indexes and thumbs. Maybe gloves could help ?

I use a cheap pair of mechanics gloves for my alcantara wheel, was around $10 AUD and work well for me.

These wheels look very dated compared to what's out there now. Especially the button box.

    • @Leynad778
      @Leynad778 2 роки тому

You mean those fancy GT-wheels I guess and you don't seem to know: They suck with many other cars that require more than about 180° rotation. With the Turn wheels it's already twice that rotation since you can grab the bottom and for more you need a round wheel that looks really dated and would block my dash-display.

I feel these rims are better for no gloves racing. I have the Alcantara R20 version which is still spotless but requires gloves. In the summer its uncomfortable. Just had the R320 a week and its super, fits fantastic with my Asher B16-L USB button Box. As Barry says, no need for gloves and yes it feels good in hand and without gloves, no more sweaty racing sessions👍
