The mix works because the second has the track built better, if it wasn’t a sonic track, it would just be a great built track, the OG egg dragoon had this absolute capture of hatred and rage eggman felt when he saw sonic, the second one lost that, this track combines both to have a well built track with its sense of rage and hatred returned
You could use "Sonic Generations Mashups - Egg Dragoon [Unleashed + Generations Mix]" which both the saxophone-based remix and xylophone-based remix might be closer to both a Portuguese guitar-based remix and the rockish beat! Well it’s the same only by a long shot (one thing is) the Generations version used less instruments than the original boss fight altogether, albeit they both sound awesome and revs you up as if your fighting something. Should deserve a Grammy award for that honestly.
