I love how genuinely terrified Eggman sounds when Sonic gets up on top of the Dragoon. I mean, yeah he's smashed up a lot of his machinery over the years, but just the way Werehog Sonic fights makes him feel incredibly violent in comparison to how he normally is. His body language, the savage clawing and bestial movement, even if he is relatively okay in the head, it's pretty clear that Dark Gaia's influence does something to him while in Werehog form. And given how all that fury was right in front of him, yeah I'd say it's pretty understandable for him to be scared, considering that Sonic rarely tries to straight up attack the doctor himself usually, just smashes up his toys and calls it a day.
Yeah. I agree. To be fair to Sonic, Eggman did break the planet himself and was at least partly responsible for Sonic transforming into a werehog(and quite painfully I might add). And during this fight, Eggman was serious about wanting Sonic dead. So maybe, destroying his Egg Dragoon robot and directly attacking Eggman was just payback for Sonic?
And apparently according to some Japanese Twitter questionnaire the only reason why Sonic remembers the Egg Dragoon strongly was because he launched Eggman to the stars in his Werehog form.
Add to the fact that Eggman more or less _created_ the Werehog... and that adds to the irony, as the Egg Dragoon was created to counter _normal_ Sonic. The Egg Dragoon, being a prototype, was designed to be the ultimate weapon against Sonic... but against Sonic in a much stronger, bestial form, punching it until its controls lock up... the Dragoon went from Eggman's ultimate weapon to just another hunk of junk on the scrap pile.
I loved this boss because the voice acting really brought out the feeling that Eggman was not holding anything back, he was giving his all to really kill sonic.

We see it from Eggman's POV and He sees a beast that in his eyes looks like it's trying to kill him and he's afraid for his life.
The Egg Dragoon is definitely something that would have done major harm to anyone in this situation. Eggman's even confident that Sonic Himself "Won't last lost again THIS one." Even Sonic Generations showed us how Normal Sonic would struggle, yet win against an Upgraded Dragoon.
Unfortunately for the Doctor, He designed the mech to go up against Sonic The HEDGEHOG, he was against The WEREHOG, who happened to be enough of a match against the Dragoon.
The way gravity works in this boss fight is so funny
Ha
*Fun fact:* Eggman saying "this is a delicate machine" is true because as we see in Sonic Generations and Sonic Forces, the egg dragoon is missing its tail in this game, so this is basically the mk1
Never noticed that
Awesome watching it in 60fps!
The only problem I have with this fight is the line "stubborn little pincushion, give up and DIE already" line happens too late in the fight. By this point in the game I feel like even a child would've beaten the Egg Dragoon fairly quickly. (Like you were a hit away from finishing the fight, not to knock your skills or anything. You did better than I would've.)
It really drives home how crazy Eggman is now. He should've said that when destroying the first platform, followed by Sonic telling him to chill.
i love this boss because i love time cutscenes they were AWESOME
This fight is a clear reference to the phase 1 fight of Olga Flow in Phantasy Star Online episode 2, even the music is made by the same artist. Not that it's a bad thing, that fight was great.
Eggman doesn't move as fast in this version compared to the wii version
Hyper Shadow Spark X Yeah but the boss fight is more generic in the Wii/PS2 version
Orange37408 eh don’t see the difference
Phantomneko Cameron in the Wii/PS2 version you’re just pounding the egg dragoon in the chest constantly, in the Xbox 360/PS3 version there are quick time events
Orange37408 oh I get it
So that version is a slight improvement on the fight
You can stun-lock him in the Wii/PS2 version
Damn for 2008, this was wild back then

God I miss Unleashed
I love and hate this boss for one reason
we will NEVER get another one like it.
5:43 BANZOWEY
De todos los jefes de la saga de sonic
El eggdragon del sonic Unleashed se nota que eggman le metio todas las ganas y energia para matar a sonic.
Why would you design your robot to have such an obvious weak point
Prototype
Also video game it obviously needs a weak spot
Incase it goes berserk so eggman can destroy it
In Twitter takeover the reason is so in case the robot goes out of control he can destroy it.
@@theminebloxcraft5779 those are non canon tho
Honestly?
Best werehog boss in the game.
Such a satisfying s rank to obtain
Hey guys I think we need to hit the green orb.
5:42 BUNZO WAY!
While the ps3 may have been more buggy than the 360 version I can appreciate the silky smooth 60 fps when it did hit that
This reminds me the battle against the egg King in Sonic rush, since the battle takes place in a falling platform
1:00 one of the coolest sequences in all of Sonic
going to be real here this is not 60fps but at certain parts it is like in the loading screen and in some small parts in the boss fight I don't know if the ps3 version has no frame lock but the game is usually locked to 30fps
I believe ps3 version was uncapped while 360 version was at 30fps
so if you take too long to fight it he destroys the ground in phase 2?
Parkou 0:52 fight 1:55
1:03 Why isn't there grind rails in werehog stages if this is proof he can grind them
My favorite boss 😎
Man I wish I didn’t play the Wii version this looks so much cooler
I played wii version first then 360
Doesn’t he usually fight Robotnik during the daytime?
4:03 It doesn’t look delicate to me.
I remember when sonic games were good…
Aw why you gotta end the video so abruptly? I wanted hear that banger of a victory theme
sorry lol this was YEARS ago when I made this.
@@DarkVizardBerryTan it’s okay lol it was partly a joke
No, the controls won’t respond!
THAT GREEN THING LOOKS SUSPICIUS
sus
WHAT
Give it a bonk
god i'd kill to play sonic unleashed again
Give me a game that has boss fight while falling inside the Earth?

"NOT GOOD ENOUGH, SONIC!!!"
1:56 egg dragon boss fight

3:32 N-NO THE CONTROLS WON'T RESPOND!!!!!!
1:37 06 ah loading screen
I wish this boss was actually challenging
This boss was way to easier for this song to be so epic!
Best boss ever
Why people hate this game?
People are just to critical over the wearhog.
@@crimsoncrusader518 and now we have sonic forces
@@NONAME-rx7on which is a HUGE disappointment for me. It could’ve been so much more than what we’ve got. Conceptually, the story could’ve worked. Sonic defeated and now his friends create a resistance against egg man? It’s like it came out of the Archie comics. But the gameplay was barely anything at all. It didn’t feel like enough effort was in the stages.
@Clash With Corey not really, I just think that it did have potential.
Because the werehog is annoying and bad. The rest of the game is fine though. And Egg Dragoon is cool as fuck. Too bad Forces butchered it, it’s been 4 years and I’m still angry about how hard they shat on the Egg Dragoon.
I feel like this boss battle could have been better, if it wasn't the Werehog, since this is going up against Eggman
You never played sonic generations, didn't you?
@@mostwahnted oh, I have, in fact, Generations was the first Sonic game I've ever played
Same
Generations. I just wish this one was generations off the start. Would have been much better.
@@MochicoArtemis I honestly think it's a fitting send-off boss for Werehog Sonic, because after we beat the Egg Dragoon, Dark Gaia appears and takes back the last of it's power from Sonic and we never see the werehog again. Or at least we don't see him again proper until Sonic Runners comes along.
0:11 2:27 4:27
man i love eggman
2:33 Green is Sus
That is not 60 fps
Let's see how this ends
