The last time we did it, a tiny #4 or #5 nut was stuck in the crack near the top and it seemed bomber. We clipped it and didn't end up having to place anything else. Based on the Mountain Project comments, I’m not confident it’s still there. You’ll definitely want the gear unless you enjoy some seriously spicy runout at the grade. You’d be placing the gear right before the hardest move on the route, from what I can remember. The upper crux is shown in this video from 1:03 to 1:15. The stuck nut placement is shown at my brother’s waist as well.
