Thank you. I was diagnosed in October 2021 and remitted my diabetes in less than 3 months by changing to low carb lifestyle, which I am still following. I am now metabolically healthy supported by tests and scans.

Hi Dr. mariela, do you have someone on your team with a dental backround?

What about my husband? Diabetic for 40 years very thin, never on insulin, takes Janumet twice a day,A1C most of his life around 7 and morning blood sugar reading anything from 6 to 10. under the care of an endocrinologist who never tested his insulin level and really didn’t discuss what he ate, just said watch the sweets. He now has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer with 6 months to live 😔.He is having Chemotherapy under the care of an Oncologist who never speaks about his diabetes the hospital encourages eating small amounts mentioning fruits and grains, and on his meal tray has sandwiches and ice cream,No understanding of Metabolic Therapy. My husband just says let’s listen to the Doctors 😩

Sorry about your husband’s. We have been brainwashed. A few of us are now questioning the old. Paradigm. I am a 68 year old who has lowered her cholesterol in two months by following a clean low carb way of eating. It works.

Type-1 or type-2? Either way, I would definitely cut the carbs to zero, regardless of what some doctor says.

@@DrJuliusG Yes. That is my understanding of how to improve the insulin levels.

What you think of Mastering Diabetes having success with high carb low protein and fat?

Mastering Diabetes seems insane to me, but congrats to anyone who finds long-term success with that method. It certainly isn’t the only method to reverse diabetes.

My educated guess is that removing processed foods through a whole food plant based diet will provide relief from a SAD and result in modest improvements. An unprocessed low carb diet (i.e. keto, carnivore, etc.) will likely have greater benefits.
