    Lyrics:
Old man Wibble, lush diviner, duke of babble, mad soothsayer,
& drunken oracle drinks the Liquid Jesus straight from the bottle.
Spirituous Sancti, like God full throttle.
The Bedlamite seer & fortune teller croons,
“Write your own fable. Believe it’ll all work out.”
“It’s gonna be all right. Everything will be all right."
“Raise,” He says, “raise a glass to our heterogeneity, & our remarkable resilience through calamity.”
Old man Wibble, duke of babble, drank straight from the bottle, danced on the table.
Fortune teller croons, “The world may tipple. The world may wobble.
Raise your bottle of God full throttle, the Liquid Jesus, Spiritous Sancti. Write your own fable & believe it’ll all work out.”
“It’s gonna be all right. Everything will be all right.”

      "right now" is apropos -_-
      any arrested development fans?
Dr. Fishman: Excuse me, are you the Bluths?
Lucille: Not "Doctor Wordsmith"... How's my son?
Dr. Fishman: He's going to be all right.
      Oscar: Oh, thank God.
Lindsay: Finally, some good news from this guy.
George Michael: There's no other way to take that.
Dr. Fishman: That's a great attitude. I gotta tell you, if I was given this news, I don't know if I would take it this well.
Lucille: But... you said he was alright.
Dr. Fishman: Yes. He's lost his left hand, so he's going to be all right.
Lucille: You son of a bitch. I hate this doctor!
"everything's gonna be alright" oh, phew!"
same exact idea. "he's lost his left hand."
      "WHAT?! WHY?! WHO?! WHERE?! WHEN?!"
mjk - always all about the consciousness -
uses metaphor to hide something deeper.
here "alright" = "all right" (see: biLATERALIZation)
"to think for yourself, you must QUESTION authority"
her "she's turning blue" curves ...erases ALL the lines
"this lady's got the thickness, can i/eye get a witness?"
"there are no lines. i say, erase all the lines" - bill hicks
"mom's coming back to put it back the way it outta be"
"what's your hurry, everyone will have HIS(ego) day to die"
"hope this (egolessness) is what you wanted
hope this (egolessness) is what you had in mind (get it?)
'cause this (egolessness) is what you're getting"
he (ego) had a lot to say
he (ego) had a lot of nothing to say
      we're gonna miss him (ego)
we're gonna miss "you" (44&2, disharmonic consciousness)
      - ego's eulogy, post ego-death (exp'd by end of stinkfist)
the suggestion here is that things are about to CHANGE!!!
and we'll either get over ourselves to survive, or we won't!
"a message of hope for those who choose to hear it
and a warning for those that do not..." - rosetta stoned
      "repugnant is a creature
      who would squander the ability
to lift an eye to heaven
conscious of HIS (ego) fleeting time here"
bill hicks - always all about the consciousness -
used metaphor to hide something deeper, too.
in his "you can make a right on red!" traffic light bit,
hicks alludes to both biLATERALIZation AND heart
chakra centers. (TMer, occultist, psychonaut, etc)
bill hicks would also often imitate southern evangelists...
      anywhoozle...
SOUR GRAPES (note similiarities/contradictions w/ "disgustipated")
And the angel of the lord led me
Into the belly of the holy mother
      A chamber black as pitch
But I felt no fear, only comfort
For I was as a child in the womb
      And she bade me
      "Hear through yonder portal
      Which looked upon the heavens
      And behold! a morning angel"
She ascended slowly from far beyond the horizon
Her light like a heavenly finger pointing the way
And on yonder wall she traced for me a path
Which led me five directions, eight winters to east
      And behold
      As my feet landed firmly
Upon the vital winter of the second score
There appeared before me a heavenly star
A holy virgin, the bringer of life and breath
And she spoke unto me saying
"Fear not the movement of the heavens above or the earth below
For change is what we are, my child
      Righteous are those
Who look up and sway with the wind
Who look down and dance with the shifting of the soil
Who swim with the movement of the tides
Who seek the truth around them
      And discover
We are, and have always been, in paradise
The reflections of heaven on earth. Amen"
      And she spoke again saying
      "Know, my child
That there is no devil seeking
To cause guilt in the hearts of men
No evil, save blind faith, ignorance
And the desire for the unprepared
To blame others for the devastation
Left in the wake of change
      Change, my child
      Change is in the heavens
      Change is on this earth
      Change is all around us
      And if we
      Are reflections of the divine
We must roll with these changes
      FOR WE ARE THESE CHANGES
      Eyes wide open
      We must look upon
      The heavens as a mirror
      Wide awake, aware, deeply breathing
And when the shit comes down, my child
      You will be there
      A true and holy survivor
To inherit the kingdom of God
You will rise above the grumbles of the unprepared
      To greet the new day
To drink from the sweet fruit of the vine
The water of life, the blood of the risen Christ, my child"
      "Go now, child
      Tell them all
The ignorant, the blind fire of dogma
Blinded by faith, the doubters, the nay sayers
      Tell them all, child
      They can not see
      The kingdom of God
      They can not see paradise
      Unfold before them
      They can not drink
      From the chalice
Which holds the blood of Christ
      The water of life
Until they get right with Jesus
Until they get right with Jesus
      It's always gonna be
      Sour grapes with you, boy

I love that Maynard is an affront to mankind fucking up.. we can and will press on. He is the Anti Lovecraft. But, he hints at... in the end... the cosmic horrors are still there. how many are ready for what is to come? just how bad do you think it will be, or get, and, what are you ready for? The tip of the iceburg is small and sharp, but... there is much, much more to have to handle... are we talking of the horrors of man, or, is there more. is everything gonna be al right?

I didn’t know what a bedlamite was before I heard this song. According to urban doc a bedlamite is a fan of James Blund, who’s first album was called “back to bedlam”.
But I think the song is actually about how insane I was just before I went into recovery from addiction.

    • @holyshit1916

Bedlamite is derogatory slur toward the so-called mentally ill. The first insane asylum was in Bethlem Royal Hospital, people call it Bedlam.
