Fronx is essentially a Baleno wearing a battle armour and having slightly more muscle within . So calling it an SUV isn't right , but also isn't wrong
It was made to compete with cars like the Sonet!

First thing don't call cars like FRONX a SUV these cars don't deserve the name tag of SUVs
SUV is a very generic term. People in India have a misconception that only a car with 4x4 or AWD with off-road capabilities can be called an SUV. Under SUV comes Off-road SUV, Crossover SUV/Crossover Utility Vehicles or CUV, even Pick-up trucks can be called SUVs. What we have here most are Crossover SUVs/Crossover Utility Vehicles or CUVs. They can be categorised under SUVs. Mahindra Thar is an off-road SUV, Honda Elevate is a Crossover SUV or CUV. Maruti Jimny is an off-road SUV while Fronx and Brezza are compact Crossover SUVs or CUVs. SUV is a body style with raised suspension, ride height and high ground clearance and not just a car with ladder frame chassis with off-road capabilities. A car with monocoque chassis that has the above mentioned body style is an SUV.
I don't see people having problems with Tata calling Punch an SUV. It's always Maruti or Hyundai calling their cars an SUV is where people have issues. 😏

@@Ayushmankumarsahoo Sonet is based on Venue which itself is a jacked up platform from Grand i10 Nios. And Fronx is a jacked up Baleno. So both should be jacked up hatchbacks. A hatchback when jacked up becomes a Crossover SUV or a CUV.

Sonet also gets 4 wheel disk brakes , front parking sensors , bigger section tyres you should mention those features...cuase all of them are imp safety wise 💯

Sonet is more VFM, be it 1.2 NA or 1.0 tubrbo petrol.
More features, better stance, IMT gearbox for convenience in the traffic, better interiror quality, ventilated seats, and that useless sunroof as well😊

Honestly, I didn’t have any, yes it was a spot I won’t sit in for long, but I feel if you’re tall, that’s with any C-SUV, apart from like the Creta onwards
Majority of Indians are under 5.6 😂.... It's more than enough.. They have brezza for those looking for longer space....

I own a Fronx and I'm 6ft. I did not face any headroom problem neither in the front nor in the back.

I always bliv features does not make the car exciting .. basics should be sorted .. if you are buying sonet buy kushaq base model .. that car is exciting .. all these bling and bells are first 7 day things engine ride gear box are things which will excite you as soon as you start driving every day every ride

There’s no comparison. Sonet is way more comfortable. Rear headroom feels low on Fronx and seats not as good.
But this was about looks!
The Fronx is there just as a reminder that the Baleno is a much better and more affordable choice.
MS missed the opportunity to call it the 'Bronx', which bothers me.

Why selling Fronx as an SUV? Its just a beefed up hatch back. Its BALENO and nothing else. The comparo is entirely wrong

@@powerdriftofficialor Sub Compact? It used to be Creta segment which is called as Compact SUV segment 2 years back. And Nexon, Breza, Sonet, Venue etc. as Sub Compact SUVs. Below these as micro SUVs BUT now illiterate people started to call even earlier micro to Compact SUVs. I think this should be changed

Definition of car segments are very problematic in India. Even creta, seltos, harrier, xuv700 are not SUVs. They are at best can be called crossovers. An suv must be ladder on frame or body on frame chasis, it should have 4wd or at least rwd . Fwd cars are not suv. The classification should be like this according to me:-
*Micro crossover:- punch, exter
* Sub compact crossover:- venue, Nexon, xuv300, sonet
* Compact crossover:- creta, seltos, gv, hyryder.
* Midsize crossover:- harrier, hector
* Full size crossover:- safari, hector plus , XUV 700 , kodiaq.
* Suv:- bolero Neo, bolero , thar, Scorpio, fortuner, og Safari, discontinued hexa, gloster, endeavour.
The companies consider every jacked up car as suv for marketing.
Special mention:- Hyundai is the only brand in the world who doesn't have a single bof suv.
