It seems like his apparent carelessness here was him trying to make a point about assessing a dangerous situation before entering it. Something hes tried to teach morty many times. Sometimes best to lead by example
I’m an awful skater and I got it in like an hour. I know some friends who took weeks/months to get comfortable dropping it. It’s one of those things where if it doesn’t click for you, it REALLY doesn’t click.
