I'm having a bigger problem. Even after deactivating fog, and doing all the fixes, its a very blurry, white screen and the leaves seem to have negative colouring. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Another fix to add: The camera goes crazy during fights and the floating sands on the ground move to fast. To fix this limit fps to 60 and enable vsync.
When you get to setting up controller how do you make those letters pop up next to move forward move right or walk toggle. I can't make my Xbox controller work with Prince of Persia through the steam store for anyting.
this fix still works for me in 2020 win10 gtx 960m, BUT the only down side form using full res is the health bar not showing during fights or anytime. only when i go to one of the supported res for game and when i revert back to the patched res the health bar disappears again

Also there were nothing sad about frame limiter, joytokey for gamepad.. Unfortunately, the older PoP gets, the harder to run it ;(

its not registering my microsoft controller inputs (via wireless dongle). ok, scratch that, after some restarts, it does register inputs... but i cant set a button for the walk toggle
As of now, april 12 2022 this file works also for uplay version of the game, but CanStretchRect after change value to 0, health bar is offscreen, after change to default value 1, everything ok. I have native 1440p monitor too. Game runs smooth as butter on win11 64bit. Cant say the same thing about SC Conviction. This game gave me nightmares, not a single trick form YT enables this game on my rig. Only Win7 32 bit works fine, on win10/11 64bit nothing works, nothing, I gave up on that game.
Whenever I open the game it says my cpu is below minimum specs and that i have a Intel penitum 2 but i have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400 CPU 2.90GHz 6 Coresmenus. I manged to start the game even though the buttons were off screen and it runs fine but menus and ui are streched off screen. I think that it is misreading my CPU and its making something happen so any help would be appreciated.
I can play this game with a controller unplugged, but when I try to do the same with Warrior Within and Two Thrones it doesn't work. It has to be plugged in for some reason. I had the same issue with Splinter Cell Blacklist. Is there a way to fix this?
Got another issue, when playing on XInput Controller, Prince for some weird reason walks slowly when going foward, but when i play DInput Controller, Prince walks normally. Weird, huh? It's like PC port was NEVER designed for XBOX ones... :/

Analogue stick still doesn't work all that great for me. Diagonal input makes the Prince walk instead of run. The analogue stick works perfectly fine in the other two PoP games - WW & TTT.
I used universal widescreen patcher my first PC playthru. On a more recent playthru I used this newer widescreen fix. ps2wide.net/pc.html#popst It works pretty good, removes black bars during cutscenes, and even crops fmvs to fill out your screen better (tho I read it crops waaaay too much in really wide aspect ratios, don't use eyefinity). It's currently the recommended widescreen method on wsgf.

Update: The fog issue is no longer present in GOG version, so dont need to change the value

Don't forget to tick the hardware.ini file to "read only". Othgerwise the game might change the file back to default when u boot up the game.

so I managed to fix the resolution but the fog is not fixable. Any idea on what to do? (It is cracked but I think the tutorial should work either way)

i tried this just now with the universal widescreen patcher but when i went to resize the hud there was no hardware folder.
You have to boot up the game first. Then, quit the game, and then the hardware file should be there :)

its permanent if you save it, but for some reason the start button wont pause the game, i have to press escape on keyboard to pause

I double click at controls of gamepad, for example: Jump. I press the button and nothing happens. Anybody know how to fix that?
1. Hold the gamepad button / stick direction you want to map.
2. Double click on the empty field next to the function description.
