I've had long hair since I was about 8 years old and now I've recently turned 19 a couple of weeks ago. I've usually always had it down for all those years, but now I'm legally an adult I try styles more now I've decided on a consistent length. My favorite one was the half up / half down ponytail because one I think it looks great and also I'm a huge fan of anything fantasy, specifically the Witcher which I've been a fan of for a good 5 years not just the new Netflix show; also the games and books. I'm also growing a beard now during this quarantine as I'm passionate about vikings the TV show, culture and history. Lastly I'm a metal-head
Good luck with beard. If it's patchy don't shave it when after long time it's still have holes, but you will start to notice shorter hair filling them. I have tried to grow beard since i was 12, but as you may know at this age it's damn hard. So i sported goaty for years and it got to full beard around 21. I hope it will add to your motivation. From metalhead to metalhead.
So I've been growing my hair for 6 years now give or take. I have thick large curly hair and it's hard to get it to look right with all the hairs going all over the place. So it's refreshing to see other guys with long hair deal with it.
February 9th 2020 I went to a barber asked for a high and tight got a Ricky Martin not to bad then the pandemic came along now I'm 13 months into it. I'm going for full shoulder length. I haven't used anything but zote to wash and Pantene conditioner.
Lately I've actually been putting my hair in double buns or having my younger sister help me put it into some Willie Nelson braids. With my beard, it's not extremely feminine as you might think it is.
Love it!!!! My sons hair is shoulder length now and he doesn’t want a trim but seeing you guys rock it so well is giving me ideas on how to style it for him!!! Handsome fellas!!!
I'm like eight months in to growing my hair out (longest ever in my life) and I'm going for the Kurt Russel in Tombstone look.... now I kinda want to keep growing it out.
Thank you for sharing many waves of hair style. I have long wavy hair and had no guidance on hair style until now because no father figure had taught me about styling of long hair besides tv shows about samurai. Experiencing your conversation on hair brought me confidence about my relatively new stage of identity. I look forward to helping people who seek advice and comfort!
So glad I found this one, as I'm in the process of growing my hair out. About 3 weeks ago, I went to the Barber and had my hair "layered" because my wife said that's what I should do, the sides and back were driving her crazy compared to the top:) Currently, I'd say I have a solid 4 to 5 inches head of hair. Good to know I should'nt go monthly for layers or anything, guess I'll take another look at it 4 to 6 months down the road.
Thank you! I've been growing my hair for 8 months now. I used to cut it everytime each 4th month of growth because it got to that fase where it's not short enough to be manageable nor long enought where I could do other things with it. Now I let it grow a bit longer and I'm really satisfied with it. I will keep growing it. I've never used any special hair products tho. Never felt like I needed but now I might think about getting something. Great video :)
ive been growing out my hair for 2 years now and it’s the longest it’s ever been in my life. this video was rlly helpful when i listened to it fully and had to hear what they said
Dude! I am a 40+ year old man. I have always let my hair long on and off in my life. I was afraid to let it grown long now that I am more "mature" and in the "professional" world but Covid hair made it more feasible and possible... Thus, I am letting it grow out again and I F-ing love it! I got to take advantage of these good hair genes... :) This silver fox dude has a mane like no other!
Yes - Yes! The only good thing to come out of Covid. I work in a very conservative field. I've pushed the boundaries for years keeping just it a bit longer than any other men in my field. My former male boss would give me some grief as I got close to getting a cut. But then work-at-home started in March. I almost went and got it cut right before the stores and malls locked down. Luckily I didn't. Now I have almost 8 months since I cut it. I had a trim last week to get rid of the raggedies at the very bottom. But now I don't know what I'm going to do if I ever go back to the office.
One year of hair growth journey completed.. Definetly going for another year.. This will help in the long run.. Although I saw the same video before 😂still loved watching both of you ❣️
These tips are useful when you have long straight hair. I have long wavy/curly hair over-shoulder length; wearing that loose is not a good look (with or without a beard). I always wear it in a knot/bun. Put some La-Em-Strait in it to tame the curls and fizziness.
Sometimes I make a ponytail and, since I have it really long I like to add hair ties in separated spaces to have this Dothraki/Khal Drogo (GoT) look. In this way I don’t have the rest of the hair moving around everywhere. Another one that it’s inspired in Ragnar, Bjørn and Ubbe (Vikings) are all these braids tied together. So I don’t want to start the braid from the scalp, and what I do is, do a ponytail, then separate the hair into sections and start braiding those sections. Usually I do three. And then, similar to the previous style, I get the braids together, add the hair ties and that’s it. I consider this a more presentable version of the “Dothraki” look.
Wet your hair, take a quarter size glob of shampoo, rub it on your scalp with your fingertips. You don't really have to wash-wash the lengths of your hair, you just want to strip the excess oil on your scalp and roots. The lengths and tips of the hair will get washed enough when you rinse the shampoo out. Rinse your hair out with warm water, then squeeze excess water out with your hands. Then take your towel and wrap it around your hair and gently squeeze/crunch your hair. Don't rub the towel on your head, this will cause hair breakage. Some people use conditioner that you wash away but most of them don't do a lot in my opinion. Conditioning really depends on your hair type, whether it's curly or straight, thick or thin, etc. Conditioning the ends of hair will make them detangle easier and defrizz them, but if you put too much, it might just make your hair limp. Some people just prefer to take a very small amount of hair oil, rub it on their fingers and just go through the lengths and tips of the hair with that. You can research videos for your specific hair type and texture and experiment a bit with different stuff. Good luck!
The part on Messi man bun definitely helped me, I had a bun at one point and was always super prep about it, had a bunch of different bobby pins to hold down every single hair, it's good to hear you say a little bit of messy look is okay, really taking what you guys are saying to heart
Ive been shaving my head since 2004, then havent cut my hair since the pandemic, and to my surprise my hair is still straight thick and few to almost no white, now im watching videos on how to style my long hair. Lol
I do a variation of the ponytail. I use 5 hair ties, each about 3 inches apart top to bottom. Sort of gives a braid effect without having to braid it. Very fast and easy.
My son has a shoulder length hair now because of covid (not able to go to the barber). And it's very thick, This is really helpful, he'll be 10 this coming february.
I’d just like to say that I’m a 63 yr old retired military man and have had short hair for the better part of my life. Just about 3 1/2 yrs ago I decided to let it grow. Just because. Because I wanted something different and hey I’m not bald so I can let my hair grow. It’s salt and pepper but my wife likes it and she the one I have to please. I have to rely on her to make a braid for me because I just can’t. Any tips on ow to make it easier. So glad I found this because there is just nothing for men like there is for women.
Hey, I'm your age and still working with the law enforcement field. My hair was always short since I graduated from college and I started letting it go at the beginning of the pandemic. I get a lot of compliments on it because there's not a lot of dudes our age with full heads of hair that can grow it long. Unfortunately at work I'm forced to put it in a man bun and hide it under a PD baseball cap as they are not comfortable at all with its length to put it mildy. I hope you've continued to grow yours and I refuse to give up mine. I'm divorced so I live alone but I do have a neighbor who's willing to braid it for me the only problem is is that I cannot be going to her every couple of days asking her to do it!
Guys I'm still rocking an 80s early 90s look and killing it same hairstyle since I was 15 I'm 43 and people compliment me on it Everytime I'm out plus its fire red
Guys, as someone who has very long hair, And washes it 1-2 times a week...I recommend spraying a dry shampoo on the roots. AMIKA Perk up is awesome, and leaves no powder. It seriously gives a first day of wash look. :) You have really great hair!
Best, natural, product for your hair are the oils your head makes. Brush everyday to spread out the oils helps keep it sleek and shiny, it also really helps with hair growth as well. Don't shampoo too often, you can wash you hair with just water and it'll still come out smelling good, just make sure you scrub your scalp and run your fingers down your hair in the shower to get the best results.
I'm 64, I've had long hair most of my life. I started shaving my head in my thirties, and wore it styled during my forties. But now, I've grown it long again. Been growing it for about 4 years now, so it's pretty long. I always wear it in a ponytail, it's too long for a bun, I feel. I also have a goatee. It was very long, but I've cut it shorter now. I can't bring myself to cutting my hair, even though I think it would be so much simpler to look after. Funny, you mentioned girls using that excuse of having to wash their hair. While I was single in my early 40s I had a girl calling me for a date, and I told her I had to wash my hair. LOL. Her girlfriends thought I was so badass for saying it. It was all I could think of at the time.
Started growing my hair in July 2020 (from really short hair and almost bald sides) and now we have November 2021. Can make a small manbun but I have to put quite a lot of hair paste to keep it tight and not fall apart because of relatively short sides that can barely be under a hairband. I'll try to make a half-bun/ponytail, half-down and see if it's any better
Thanks for the video guys! Currently trying to grow out my hair and I’m loving it. My only worry is that like you guys, most guys with long hair are quite tall. Me being on the short side ( 5’7 here) and muscular build I’m still not sure which length or style is the way to go. Thanks for any tips and keep up the great work!
This was on my reccommended because I've been researching hair care to grow my hair long without breakage and as a woman, I find this adorable lol I don't know what I was expecting, but being shown everyday normal, logical hairstyles like this was kinda funny haha shows just how different men and women's cultures are these days
Great stuff. Always had my hair very short, but now growing it out (+10 months) and curly as fuck. The Ladies love it! Thanks for the advice, lots of options to look forward to.
What an amazing beard and hair genetics! Congrats! Unfortunatly my hair decided to start traveling from the front top of my head to my upper back... X'D
Very well made video! I have another variation. During the summer, I use to combine my long hair with an undercut. At very hot days I put the long part into a rough bun. Combined with a sharply trimmed beard around the mouth, tapering to a point at the chin. Gives a lot of structure and caracter to the face.....
The most valuable thing I learned about long wavy hair is to not brush it. Use a wide toothed comb or you end up looking as though you’ve been dragged through a hedge. Shea moisture is an also excellent brand for long hair
Lol, I'm an older woman with shoulder linked frizzy hair. Happened on your channel when researching frizzy hair. I live in the central Florida area which = frizzy! I'm older and just thinking about cutting it, but still will try your advice first.

I run some liquid paraffin through my hair once a week or so. Good for the hair and the scalp. My grandma taught me that trick abotu 35-40 years ago.
Accidentally landed on this vid, looking for new hairstyles for ME (a woman), and just had to watch this guy with the gray hair. SUPER foxy, and has always been my kind of guy! 😚 But of course, he already knows he looks good. 😉✌
Thanks you for this education. I don’t think people realize how sexy long hair is on a groomed man. You guys are extremely aesthetically pleasing.
IKR !?
I've had a buzz cut and full beard for for 30 years. I've just decided to grow my hair at 47. I still have a great deal of dark hair, my beard is more grey. not looking forward to the awkward stages but I'm committed! Thanks for the tips...
You got it man
Shampoo and conditioner are really all we need, but occasional rosemary hair oil is good for dry hair.
I've had short hair for most of my life. I started turning grey in my early 20's. But my last hair cut was in March. I'm enjoying the look so far.
7 months in this is the exact video I watched that made start growing my hair out
Loved this video. Just a slow-paced chit chat without stressing on using tools and products but actually with a lot of great insight. Thanks!
So I've been growing my hair for 6 years now give or take. I have thick large curly hair and it's hard to get it to look right with all the hairs going all over the place. So it's refreshing to see other guys with long hair deal with it.
Greg has wise grandfather energy and def is the look men need these days
I am here cuz of this God forsaken lockdown and if this goes long enough every guy will come to this video eventually.
The half up half down was exactly what I needed.
I was thinking of cutting my hair after about 2 years growing. Nowhere near you guys but definitely encouraging me to keep going! Thanks!
February 9th 2020 I went to a barber asked for a high and tight got a Ricky Martin not to bad then the pandemic came along now I'm 13 months into it. I'm going for full shoulder length. I haven't used anything but zote to wash and Pantene conditioner.
Gregg has such thick hair, the other guy has fine hair. Both lovely.
When he to combed to the middle he looked like a rockstar
Lately I've actually been putting my hair in double buns or having my younger sister help me put it into some Willie Nelson braids. With my beard, it's not extremely feminine as you might think it is.
Love it!!!! My sons hair is shoulder length now and he doesn’t want a trim but seeing you guys rock it so well is giving me ideas on how to style it for him!!! Handsome fellas!!!
I'm like eight months in to growing my hair out (longest ever in my life) and I'm going for the Kurt Russel in Tombstone look.... now I kinda want to keep growing it out.
15:30 Gerald from The Witcher ? 😂
The "type 4" Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones doesn't suit me.
I was about to mention that. White Wolf!
Geralt dude, not Gerald haha
Gerald lmao.. get ya facts straight
@@davidnettleton3375 yeah, well, the dude abides... 👍
One year of hair growth journey completed.. Definetly going for another year.. This will help in the long run.. Although I saw the same video before 😂still loved watching both of you ❣️
Vishnu T.H awesome, dude!
@🆓🇵🇸The Great Seljuks🆓🇵🇸 i ended up cutting my hair at about 19 months.I'm growing it again
Bro that man is a viking 🔥💪
These tips are useful when you have long straight hair. I have long wavy/curly hair over-shoulder length; wearing that loose is not a good look (with or without a beard).
I always wear it in a knot/bun. Put some La-Em-Strait in it to tame the curls and fizziness.
Great stuff! Much appreciated. Now that my hair is past my shoulders, I need advice on what to do with it. Thx bros!
I've been growing out mine for five years now and I've been thinking of getting it styled.
Thanks for the help I love having long hair it’s just so hard to have without a hat for me to keep it out of my face
starting today ima grow it out now, thanks Poseidon!
Can you open a topic about how to proper wash and condition your long hair ,avoiding the mistakes that lead to frizzy hair with a towel for ex.
Good luck!
Been growing my hair since the pandemic hit, so this is very cool to come across and educational for me. Thank-you Gentlemen!
@@arkham5940 sounds like your all ass.
The part on Messi man bun definitely helped me, I had a bun at one point and was always super prep about it, had a bunch of different bobby pins to hold down every single hair, it's good to hear you say a little bit of messy look is okay, really taking what you guys are saying to heart
Why am I watching this? I got a buzz cut last week🤣😂
Every eight weeks is still a good guideline for getting and keeping hair maintained.
You two motivated me to take more care of my long hair, thanks! You're awesome btw
@Quinn Brophy give it a try!
Ive been shaving my head since 2004, then havent cut my hair since the pandemic, and to my surprise my hair is still straight thick and few to almost no white, now im watching videos on how to style my long hair. Lol
You guys came out with these videos just in time! Growing my hair out this year and the advice is coming in handy
I do a variation of the ponytail. I use 5 hair ties, each about 3 inches apart top to bottom. Sort of gives a braid effect without having to braid it. Very fast and easy.
I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus 🎶& so did my dad 😫💖
What?????
Growing hair is less about styling, more about taking care of it
Guys, as someone who has very long hair, And washes it 1-2 times a week...I recommend spraying a dry shampoo on the roots. AMIKA Perk up is awesome, and leaves no powder. It seriously gives a first day of wash look. :) You have really great hair!
Hi just a woman obsessed with men with long hair passing by have a nice day
Thanks for stopping by!
-Ben
Truly great to have tasteful men growing Gorgeous Hair.....
thanks a lot!
What about men with long hair and an undercut? Also, a good accessory can be a hair stick which I use a lot for a looser bun
I had long hair with an undercut in about 1992. Funny how things come back around.
I got my bun in right now watching this
*Excuse me but Greg Brezinski has unbelievable hair!!!*
I'll try to make a half-bun/ponytail, half-down and see if it's any better
try bobby pins
This makes me proud to have become part of the long-hair community. Look at these gentlemen’s manes!
Thanks for the video guys! Currently trying to grow out my hair and I’m loving it. My only worry is that like you guys, most guys with long hair are quite tall. Me being on the short side ( 5’7 here) and muscular build I’m still not sure which length or style is the way to go. Thanks for any tips and keep up the great work!
you still look super great 🙂
I'm 5,6 an mines past my shoulders 3-4 inches an iwear up, half up half down, down and side parted.
I hope your hair turned out great. I’m even shorter than you but rocking long hair since 2021 and its honestly the best I’ve ever looked.
This was on my reccommended because I've been researching hair care to grow my hair long without breakage and as a woman, I find this adorable lol I don't know what I was expecting, but being shown everyday normal, logical hairstyles like this was kinda funny haha shows just how different men and women's cultures are these days
My 10 months hair growth looks like John Travolta Pulp Fiction style 😂 and I love it.
B E R N A L I say the same thing
Lmao nice
started letting my hair grow about 15 month ago and this was the video I needed to see
Man this looks like me and dad in the future hopefully we'll be able to do this
Happy long hair most of my life never had a problem washing it
I have been growing my hair for 8 years and I’m only 16
Damm😂
vat yu ar e voman.
Thank you so much for this video. My little son wants to have long hair, it is pretty long now and I was strugling with the styling. ♥️
Great stuff. Always had my hair very short, but now growing it out (+10 months) and curly as fuck. The Ladies love it! Thanks for the advice, lots of options to look forward to.
Greg and Travis , I think both your hair styles look good /great in the ponytail
What an amazing beard and hair genetics! Congrats! Unfortunatly my hair decided to start traveling from the front top of my head to my upper back... X'D
I’m using that one liner buddy
Agreed regarding the good hair/beard genetics, but dude please don't take Our Lord's Name in vain.
@@RapidCycling07 I am going to remove his name from my comment.
Very well made video! I have another variation. During the summer, I use to combine my long hair with an undercut. At very hot days I put the long part into a rough bun. Combined with a sharply trimmed beard around the mouth, tapering to a point at the chin. Gives a lot of structure and caracter to the face.....
Trav, it looks like your hair is giving you bad posture with that side part.
Thats what i was thinkin. Very unhealthy how his head was tilted the whole time 😂
They were both leaning towards the center, probably to fit better in the frame and see the camera better.
@@aeris2704 😂😂😂
Probably keeps his head tilted to keep hair out of his eyes.
It is my 11th month of no haircut and my hair is pretty long now.
4 months shy of 2 years of hair growth...I keep the sides shaved and I rock braids like bjorn Ironside from the show Vikings
What about guys with long curly/wavy hair? :/
Great vid tho
In are minds we look like slash or rambo
Some men can just rock long hair. These are two of them. Good video, good information.
Man, I really regret cutting my long hair.
