What really amazes me is how mature Lin Yun-Ju's game is at his tender age. His mental maturity for the game is way beyond his age, too. I think we're looking at a very, very special player whose career will have many memorable moments in it.

Impressive victory, Lin! I really enjoy his matches. Certainly 100 times better than watching the Screamoto kid. Similar in age, but miles apart in manners and maturity. Bravo, Lin.
Timo is absolutely legend player.. Lin YJ is hottest player of this year and very clever. Timo shows his competative ability versus rising star Lin YJ.
Timo is like playing against his younger self with 2x the speed than him, they both have very similar techniques except Lin has 2x faster recovery rate and does flat hit kills and some aggressive blocking.
LYJ plays the perfect table tennis. I am saying this keeping the top Chinese players in mind. Just like Federer may be the GOAT of tennis (till now) but experts say that Djokovic, on his day, plays the perfect tennis. Many top players would hesitate to take the risk to be all attacking in a deciding game. But those two risky 3rd ball attacks at 6-6 in the last set showed his mental strength part of his game at such a young age. Bravo, I see the future world champion in him.

Both are my favorite left-handed player. Astonishing performance was displayed by both players. Lin Yun Ju stunned the Living Legend Timo Boll to go through to his first Wolrd Tour Final. This fearless wonderkid showed a memorable performance after Timo fought back at the 5th and 6th, then forced the Game to the decider. His mentality turned the momentum a way back to him, leaving Timo behind, after 2 consecutive smashes to score 8-6 for him.
That was a cool clash of two generations separated in 20 years! What is cool about Timo is almost never makes many unforced errors. While other players can make some incredible points and right after that 2-3 silly mistakes, Timo always plays safe and reliably.
Respect for timo being senior he shows respect to opponents. Lin is rising star n deserve a place in future ultimately he got a patience with skills in such a young age
Lin has a topnotch forehand, combined with his world class backhand he is more powerful than Harimoto. But it is difficult to tell who win when the two face head to head.
did you see that? 4th game timo losing so he starts targeting lyj's elbow. lyj reacts by shifting his weight right (his bh side) to move out of the way with a bit of a lean. then timo switches to targeting wide fh with fast attacks and lyj is now just out of reach bc of the longer time to switch his weight back deciding between an elbow or wide shot. brilliant. then lyj responds by opening up farther and higher towards the baseline to create some distance off the table and go into counterloop rallies which reduces the effect of timo's targeting the two pts. lyj has an overwhelming advantage at close range counter vs timo due to his speed but even farther off the table, he's still really strong. the change in tactics saved the 4th game for timo, who's one of the best in the world at mid-distance counterlooping. the rest of the match becomes a lot closer and less one-sided as a result. good finish by lyj. last game he uses a mix of fast long serves and wide-angle serves to force a 3rd ball counter game or limit timo's choice of targets. lyj took a gamble by speeding up for step-around shots, assuming timo would attack the more likely cross-court return if he started with a wide angle opening serve. it worked for 2 or 3 pts before timo adjusted but it was enough to move ahead for match pt
