This was an absolute blast from the past. Tried to find where I used to order my kanekalon hair from but couldn't find them til this vid. This was like 10 years ago too!
Wow this helped alot,- I have at least 100 locs to do and I knew the crochet method alone was gonna have me taking much longer than I wanted. Thank you
I have been looking for ways to make my dreadlocks n this is by far the best way for me to make mine. Thank you so much. Much appreciated for teaching me :
I have wanted dreads for the longest time but don't want to commit with my hair now I can take out as and when I choose now I can sit and make my own in any colour I want ❤ thank you for the tutorial
amazing!!! had to comment before I even finish the video. I was looking to buy some locks but the magic of youtube made me find you!!! you are a godsend! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Much love from France :)
Yeah just use the old school technique ;) by combing it back en rubbing te dreads in between your handpalms/fingers 😊 it might take a bit more time to get them into the right thickness along the whole length of the dread but you'll get there 😉
Shows bundles of synthetic hair Me : I wonder which one she will use mmm Camera: *slowly zooms on the blue/turquoise one* Me: I knew itttt😂😂 Love you Tessarr💙💖💙💖💙
I wonder if i can incorporate using my drop spinner. I crochet,& got several of those tiny hair crochet hooks(for highlights) Loreal made back in the day, from my mil..
Love it! You make it look sooooo easy though😂 Iv tried the crochet technique and nothing happens, it just seems to stay the same or get abit knotted! 🙄 Are you selling your synthetic dreads?! Love your videos 💙
Thanks for your video! Just a quick one, when starting with the hair. Did you just take the rubber band off and then pull out a section from the main bunch? I tried to take the band off mine and separate the manufacturers braid but it went super knotty! I have the right hair so maybe I just unravelled it wrong in a way to make it knotty, I've got 6 bags of hair and ruined my first bag. How did you pull a section off without cresting knot mayhem haha the skills!!! I tried and ruined mine 😭😭😭
Thanks for this video! Do you find with just turning and using the hook as you do, that they tend to hold fairly well? I've always just back combed and then used the hook and this method here looks to be far easier!
If you take care Of them they can be in for 6 months until they need re-braiding. Just shampoo the roots and rinse like normal. Air dry them. Really easy to takecare of :) 👌🏻
Yay. I’m your first view, like and comment. Love your videos and style. I’m on my secondish month of my dread journey. I started with partial 5 months ago and added two to four every other week.
Hola quisiera saber por favor que me digan con que lo rocía al final para que es..ya q esta en ingles y no entiendo pero esta genial como lo explica gracias!!❤❤
@@Libbie.Bullemor depends if your making single ended or double ended dreads and how much you back comb and crochet them but I find they end up half the length when finished.
What if I have them in the shower with me while I take a hot shower that the steam of the shower will be almost the same ? Or something along those lines?
I suscribed your chanel. Find it helpful. I asked someone to teach me how to make dreadlock, and tht person was being bitchy..😏.. Dnt need help now😏😏 And can u tell me for how long tht shape stay tht way?

It genuinely cheers me up when I realise there's a vid of yours to watch x💜💀💜x
love you! xo
@@TessarrGoad love you too x💜💀💜x
What the heck , this is the best tutorial on UA-cam
Can you make synthetic dreads without using the crochet hook? Just by backcombing and sealing with steam?
Make a video for please

Very nice. I like your method. Thanks for sharing.
i'm not a fan of dreadlocks but you look gorgeous with them!

I'm having trouble making the hair or hook behave like your video shows. Do you have a video of more detail of how you're using the hook?

I really like the dance at the end🤣 amazing video btw😍
So are you just essentially “knotting” it when you crochet it? To lock it in?
Brilliant video thank you so much ❤
How much hair would I need to buy for double ended? Also I'll be putting braids in them
Very beautiful!! 💜💙☮️
I really want to do this but I can’t with really short hair.
Thanks for this video! Do you find with just turning and using the hook as you do, that they tend to hold fairly well? I've always just back combed and then used the hook and this method here looks to be far easier!
How many dreads did you make from that one pack of hair?
Perfect, thanks.
How much hair is needed for a full head of dreadlocks?
So how long can you have these in your hair? Can you wash them as you would your normal dreads?
If you take care
Of them they can be in for 6 months until they need re-braiding. Just shampoo the roots and rinse like normal. Air dry them. Really easy to takecare of :) 👌🏻
How many packs of hair I need to make a set of 40 se dreadlocks? (I have shaved sides of my head)
6-8 packs for a full head.
hiii how can I make a maintenance in old dreads? just with the crochet?
Genia hermoso!!!🤩😍
Yay. I’m your first view, like and comment. Love your videos and style. I’m on my secondish month of my dread journey. I started with partial 5 months ago and added two to four every other week.
Great video!! What can i use if i dont have a steamer?
Yay! You can also seal them using a pot of boiling water and dip the dreads :) 👌🏻
You could also cover the dread with a wet cloth and gently press with a hair straightener to create steam!
Thanks for the video hun, can you use ebay hair for the same effect? I'm in aus and don't want to wait for shipping from UK for th brand you mentioned
If it’s kanekalon hair then it will work!
How much of the kanekalon hair do I need for ≈ 60 dreads (1cm thickness)
Hola quisiera saber por favor que me digan con que lo rocía al final para que es..ya q esta en ingles y no entiendo pero esta genial como lo explica gracias!!❤❤
Seal the dreads with hot water to hold shape.
what is kanekalon hair? can i just use some old synthetic straight hair extensions i have laying around???
Sure thing! I have a video tutorial also using human hair extensions! Check out my dreadlock video playlist :)
Kanekalon is fake hair that’s made from plastic
How long are the dreads when you have finished x
This is engenius!1!!!1 thank you!!!
Thx for sharing!! 💜 How do you soften them...they seem so stiff. 😩
When making them the less you back comb and crochet them softer they will be. X
Thank you for this video! I found it helpful :)
So glad you found it helpful! 😜👌🏻
I was wondering if you could skip the steamer part or if you could dip them in hot water (like braids)
Ofcourse! You can dip them in hot water :)
watching this video, as I wear those exact pants....is creeping me out, it looks like i'm already making them (if it weren't for the tatts!)
Thanks for this video love😊
How many packs of hair would i need
Awesome vid! How many packs of hair do you need for a full head of dreads?
About 6 bags of kanekalon should do it :) depending how thick you make them.
How do you soften them? After they are made, they itch your skin on you shoulders.
They can soften over time, but they are plastic.
Super late reply but you can set them using hot water or steam.
I want to make dreads to sell but I'm so scared they'll unravel after the customer wears them a few times. How do you know they sealed well?
You can seal them in hot boiling water. Then let them dry.
This is great
So helpful! Thank you!
Approximately how long does it take to make one dread?
Approx 10-20 mins depending on the method.
Thank you :)
do you have a video where you are showing how to install? or do you know of any good ones
Yes check out my dreadlock playlist :)
Idk what im doing wrong but this is definitely harder than it looks 😅😂
All in the back combing. 👌
Lovely
Great job!
Thank youuuuuuu 🥰😍
Brilliant 😁
Hi, thanks for the video. Was that a 24 inch kanekalon braid? 😁
50 inches approx.. links to products in videos description ;)
@@TessarrGoad and the final length of the lock should be around 40 inches or so? I have to convert because I use metric system 😂
@@Libbie.Bullemor depends if your making single ended or double ended dreads and how much you back comb and crochet them but I find they end up half the length when finished.
@@TessarrGoad thank you, just wondering which length would be best to buy considering the final length for SE 🙃
@@Libbie.Bullemor longer is best then you can ways cut it shorter.
Question, can i putt them in hot water after i finish them ?
Yep that's also a great way the seal them :)
How many bundles should you use for a full 60 to 70 single ended?
6-8 packs of kanekalon for a full head depending on how thick you make the dreads :)
Can I know what machine is that you are using in the video?
Hand held steamer
hey how do you attach them to your hair? can you make a short ig video or something like that on instagram?
Check out my dreadlock video playlist! Lots of tutorials here: Different Ways Attaching SE Dreadlocks! ua-cam.com/video/3Bs0_qNGwH4/v-deo.html
That hair that u used it's kanekalon hair?
yeah :)
What length are these?! When you ordered the hair... (20,22,24,26?)
Hi. I put the product links in the video description. The kanekalon hair was approximately 50 inches long from the packs.
Thank you!
I made it, but it is so stiff, I want to make it soft, what should I do?
crochet / backcombing causes the dreads to get firmer try crocheting them less. x
Which kind of steamer is this and where did you get it? X
Hand held steamer from eBay
how many braids of hair would i need to make 30 double ended ?
About 3-4 packs of kanekalon depending how thick you made them.
What if I don’t have a steamer? I really want to make my own since this seems to be the cheaper option.
You can also seal them by dipping them into boiling water.👌🏻 Or even use a wet cloth and a pair of hair straighteners 💜
Tessarr thank you thank you thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What if I have them in the shower with me while I take a hot shower that the steam of the shower will be almost the same ? Or something along those lines?
Hey Tessa are the locks hard? I tried it and its a bit hard
Depends how much they have been back combed and crochet. Less back combing and crochet will make them softer.
@@TessarrGoad is it supposed to be hard?
How long did it take you to make this little set?
A couple hours a day about 2 days chilling 😎
@@TessarrGoad Tysm Tessa 🙏🏻😁💗!!
I don’t have a steamer, anything else I can use?
You can dip them into a pot of boiling water :)
Ty
Strong taste of colours
Does anybody knows if I can do the part that she does with a steamer but with a normal hair dryer?
You can also try dipping them into a pot of boiling hot water. :) a hair dryer would melt them 😜
Good 👍
You rock! Ty🙏🏽😜
What crochet hook was i meant to use
0.75mm
I have an 0.60 crochet hook. Can i use that or is that too small ?
Made the 3000th like 😏

Of course! Just the same but without the loop :)
Nice work tess!💋💗
thank you sweetie!
How many dreads do you get out of one bundle of hair?
I made about 20 medium sized locs out of one pack :)
