I'm taking Layne Staley's voice from beyond seriously. I cannot avoid my path ahead. This is what is so clear to me. Maybe I can't get a clue about anything else in life but I will take this one to heart and hope I really get a chance to at least jam with them some day. I totally love these guys and I really miss Layne RIP 🥹🙏
I just wanted also to say thank you for making it easier for me to learn the words. I knew that I could sing half way decent and with time and practice I have it in me to do this professionally. I believe that time is an illusion I'm not going to freak out anymore like I only have a short amount of time to live. I have all the time I need 👍❤️
DAMN without vocal I realised how genius is actually the chorus guitar part. Great video as always, I love your alternative drum sound and loud bass line!
So for y'all who are thinking you're not good singers because your voice keeps breaking when you try to hit the high notes, I promise you that you're probably wrong. Layne Staley was a tenor, which is the highest male vocal register. You're probably a baritone or a bass, which means you're physically not capable of hitting those notes no matter how much you train. That doesn't mean you're a bad singer, it just means you're better at singing different things. I'll bet you can hit low notes that Layne couldn't.
Sorry but this is wrong. I thought I was a baritone my whole life. I found a master teacher and am singing higher than I ever have in my life with more ease than ever. I thought I’d never sing this…but I’m getting closer everyday. And most males can use “mix voice” to get high notes, which is certainly what he is doing, and so does Cornell and the Def Leppard dude. It CAN be done by most males singers. Please don’t limit yourself. Find a master teacher and you too can sing this.
@@pg5215 The high notes on Would definitely aren’t a mix. He’s using vocal fry for sure but that’s all chest right there. You cannot get the same sound as a baritone.
@@eligostheexalted Hey man seriously no offense but your statements are just inaccurate. It’s not fry it’s a different type of distortion. And it’s definitely mix up that high. Listen to the unplugged version and you can hear it. Baritones can definitely sing like that with training. Cornell and 1000’s more. My first voice teacher told me I was a baritone and would never sing that high. Like you, she was wrong! I’m not trying to be rude…I just don’t want people to believe limiting and incorrect information like I did for so many years.
@@pg5215yeah definitely no mixed at all. Layne never used mix he was using full voice with distortion fry. Mixed is definitely Cornell and Axl use, but Layne was either belting or just using chest.
The best thing is learning from these videos in secretn then once you gain tbe confidence and can hit the notes, you no longer feel you have to hide it. 😂

lol, all good ... but honestly, I didn't even think to look on this one. I think it's just force of habit that I've been singing this song so many times without them I forgot they were even there. Now that I look at it the backings are in fact isolated on the backing stem for this track.

Bravo.

Wait, I don’t want to be that guy, but where are the backup vocals? If it was all on the same track that’s fine, I’m just curious.
