Do you ever get sick of remembering to turn your outdoor lights off? Us too. In this video, we will show you how easy it is to automate your outdoor lights with a light sensor. This small sensor easily screws into your existing sockets, in between the socket and the light bulb, and automatically turns your outdoor lights on when the sun goes down and off when the sun comes up.
You can also buy fixtures with this feature built in, but if you are looking for an easy solution this will only cost you about $7-12 per light.

That's a quick and simple solution I like that Thank you!
But, I have lots of bulbs with one switch. I need something to control the switch, not the bulbs.
Wow, I didn’t realize how cheap it could be! Totally thought it was just for the wealthy. Thanks
I'm guessing this won't work if your fixture is frosted?
They’ll work just fine, they just sense the ambient light.
Since your switch stays on, does this run up your electricity bill?
Not as long a the lights are off. The photoelectric cell uses no power - it only controls power based on the amount of light hitting the sensor.
@@REGROY1913 But there’s a wireless connection for communication on it that has to be made no?
@@honeztearthling987 No wireless connection. If cycles on and off based on the light hitting the sensor.
@@REGROY1913 Thanks
Installed today. When I turn the switch on, my lights went on in daylight. What did I do wrong?
Hey Phoebe, it could be a few different things. Depending on the version you got, it may turn on for several seconds until it adjusts to “see” daylight and then it will turn off. It could also be that your lamps are not letting enough light in to the sensor.
@@HouseInProgress thanks for the quick reply! I will figure this out : )
@@HouseInProgress it worked : ) they just needed a few minutes to adjust and then the lights went out and came back in when it was dark. Perfect.
Woohoo!
