I've been buying food in bulk for years, from Azure and other places, and I've never thought to write the prices on the bag or label. That tip is going to help me so much! Also love the idea of writing the date on everything, to keep track of how old it is.
It really helps me to see costs. When I place my new orders I can look at what I spent. The honey has already gone up a few dollars since the last gallon I bought. We got sick and went through it quicker than the first gallon we got in November. I’m ordering my 3rd gallon since then. 👀

The plastic gallon jugs? I just threw 3 out cause I have so many!! I store some dry goods in them. You can also freeze milk/water/drinks in them, use frozen water as an ice cube in a cooler in summer.

I have always heard that when buying honey you should purchase it from the area where you live because of the fact that when bought locally it works much better against your allergies and such. It gives you a greater immunity. Check it out!
That is true and we do buy local honey from my neighbor to treat my husbands allergies!! We also use local bee pollen. I like using this honey for making granola and other baking recipes. I hoard the good local honey that’s costs a bit more per pint.
Local honey tends to be a lot pricier so my little tip is to always keep a large batch of raw honey from wherever you can get it for baking and cooking and backup. But when you can by local honey just use that for tea and taking spoonful daily. I do this because we have a beekeeper down the road from us so I sort of ration that honey out very slowly and use other honey for those cooking items. Plus the enzyme benefit gets lost when you heat it up past a certain point. I feel like I’m wasting the local benefits when I use it to bake or cook. 🤷🏼♀️

I do home canning and i use vinegar to clean. i was out the jars until the smell is gone and i store water in them. I fill them and change it out once a year. I do that buy using it a gallon at a time watering my garden
I’m new. I have the same tea mettle in flame and adore it. We are in rural ND. I so badly want to do this azure thing but the only drop near me is 50 miles away and in a direction I never go for things. I looked into being a coordinator but I don’t have the time to do it and I’m already overcommitted. I’m going to talk to some local friends to see if one of them would get it going. .
Hi Jody!! I hope you find a way to get your azure orders. There should be a Facebook group or contact information for the 50mi away drop location- you could contact them and see if others would be interested in a drop nearer to you? It would be the same truck on the route I’m sure.
Really? Do we just pay the shipping in that case? I called customer service and asked how can I get the wheat berries before they sell out and she just apologized and said “sorry there is nothing we can do except try on next months order.”
@@RowesRising yes, you pay shipping but it is astronomical... No fault of theirs. I purchase wheat berries from Azure and I am in Minnesota. I have bulk grains here in MN (too far to drive) which are cheaper BUT shipping is 3x the amount of the wheat. So it is much cheaper to purchase from Oregon 🤷
Love azure! Great price for ACV indeed! Great quality, too. We reuse the jugs as well. Haven’t tried the raspberry blossom honey yet... sounds so good!! I have some azure hauls on my channel as well if you’re looking for some more future inspiration :)

Hmm I always look at the Azure Cash items first, then sale items, then I’ll search “whole grains” or “beans” I like to buy my bulk Whole Foods from there so start searching food you love and already eat. They have a variety of “lentils” so check those out too!
I pretty much buy the 25lb bags ,but I always leave my grains and flours for 10 days to 14 just to be sure,that stuff is pretty dense like the flours..I bought all the E cloth products from Azure, can't wait yo use them no more cleaners. Can't wait til I can get some more gallon size Jars ,got lids runs out of jars,5lbs on amazon is 60 something dollars for the Celtics salt ,I ordered 10lbs of Redman real salt at that time it wasn't too bad I got that from Amazon..
i have an ongoing spreadsheet with foods i buy by size, price and competitors $, and inventory #. i print it out and take it with me. i started this system in March (this month) so next month i can compare price and size when i shop.
How do you keep your honey from not crystalizing? Do you decant into a smaller bottle? Or? By the time I get to the bottom of my 20 oz honey it's crystalized. Also how do you store the raisins so they don't get hard before you go through them?
It does. And I just stick the bottle in a hot pot of water to re liquify and any hard crystals that are stuck I will just swish with warm water then add to a recipe or a pitcher of tea :) 🌻
Kefir is a probiotic rich fermented milk drink. You can drink it straight, flavored, or add to recipes like anoothies. Bone broth is what I said… not moon broth. Hop that clears it up 😅
Oh thank you for the salt recommendation!! I haven’t purchased from frontier since we lived in the UK and me and my girlfriends had a group monthly order (military). I love the soap! Works great and no after smell on my water cups😅 I can’t stand drinking soap scented water.

If I knew for sure the Himalayan sea salt I buy is not processed thru China, I'd be good w it. That would be a good question for Azure, eh! So, I mostly use Redmond's. I recently bought powder version. We'll see how that works. Ha! I make an electrolyte base of acv, lemon, and salt. The powdered salt works well so far. I've not experienced the grit from settled minerals.

I really like it!! I have the dish washing detergent too. I prefer fragrance free household products and so far Azure products fit the bill. I ordered bulk bathroom cleaner this month.

Hi! I am new to the idea of buying in bulk. I don't have a large family (just me and my husband) and worry about not being able to use up the food fast enough. Does Azure provide guidelines on expiration dates which you use for labeling your containers? I have no idea how long things like grains, oils, etc. truly last.
Hello Gabriella, They do have best by dates on their products. I also have videos on long term storage and which foods you can store long term. Whole Foods like wheat berries and whole oats store best. Storage method matters. Buckets with Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers work well and can keep wheat berries for up to and over 50 years. They have found wheat berries in ancient tombs and those grew wheat! 🌻🌻🌻

Hi Joyce!! Water kefir is fermented water!! It’s a fizzy drink rich with probiotics. Great for our guys and a fun and nutritious substitute for soda!! So is kombucha- which is fermented fizzy tea!! Both are delicious- get a bottle of each to try from your local grocer 🌻

Yes you can use DE. I don’t at this time. I’ll likely re package everything before we move and either add DE in layers, or into mylar bags with 02 absorbers.
@@ericanntroyer3744 I have not used DE but have read to be very careful when sprinkling or placing it in your buckets because it’s a very fine powder and you don’t want to inhale it. I’m a bit leary about it but I’ve seen it done. Wish I could remember the video I saw it in.

Our neighbor has honey bees so it’s very local- but $20/20oz Worth it!! But out of budget for granola😅

Absolutely!! Better to be safe. But- if you use oxygen absorbers in sealed Mylar bags you don’t need to freeze :)

Have you ever used DE for killing the bugs? I ask because there is no way I can put 25lb bags in my freezer. Smaller bags we can but I have heard some use DE in their 5 gallon buckets.

Yes you can use DE. I don’t at this time. I’ll likely re package everything before we move and either add DE in layers, or into mylar bags with 02 absorbers.
@@RowesRising tell me more about using DE... can you add that directly to your bucket of dried foods and mix it in or how??
Yes food grade DE sprinkle in layers with your grain.

I have not used DE but have read to be very careful when sprinkling or placing it in your buckets because it’s a very fine powder and you don’t want to inhale it. I’m a bit leary about it but I’ve seen it done. Wish I could remember the video I saw it in.
